Are you still doing animation stuff? I'd love to see more!

AbsoluteFormula In reply to Stushcinta [2011-09-11 03:27:23 +0000 UTC]
I just have some un-finished sketches
hidden around my computer.
One day...I will attempt to re-do them.

Stushcinta In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-11 03:29:50 +0000 UTC]
I'd sorta like to get into animation. I did a flash class once, And I got so into making my games look super pretty that I sort of never figured out the programming stuff. But I had the nicest looking games in the class.
Unfortunately ramming into things backwards regenerated health and you could accelerate backwards so fast that you'd get lodged in scenery.

I put too much detail in my
animations.
I'd usually have to re-do the entire thing.
We never got into game making.

Stushcinta In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-11 03:39:39 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I think the idea is to save the detail for when you're happy with the basics. That's why the professionals do like, little stick figure things for the storyboards and stuff and then actually make it look nice. We're good at detail, just we do it at the wrong time in the process.

AbsoluteFormula In reply to Stushcinta [2011-09-11 03:41:09 +0000 UTC]
That's exactly what my teacher said.
And yet I continue to do the same thing.

I've given that advice heaps of times, and I still do it! I know i'm doing the wrong stuff, I just keep doing it because I'm mostly running off of instinct.

What program do you use to draw?
That's sometimes that extra little kick you need to make stuff pop.

AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 07:24:06 +0000 UTC]
We just found the weakest link.
I use macromedia flash mx and some Photoshop here and there.
I'm sure there's somewhere on the internet you can steal a copy of both.
And I seriously couldn't draw with paint to save my life.
XD
You pretty much outdraw me in the program.

silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 07:27:08 +0000 UTC]
oh ok ill look for them thank you for telling me this
i usually start with a sketch then colour it in on my computer
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 07:31:14 +0000 UTC]
Most welcome!
I do the exact thing. They're just basic ovals and similar shapes somehow resembling the basics of the thing I want to draw.

silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 07:47:04 +0000 UTC]
wow i cant even do that im not good at actually drawing with my computer i mostly just do the outline of the character then scan or take a picture of it then go from there but lately my camera hasnt been working and i am unable to use my scanner all of the time but all of that will be solved very soon . . . i hope
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 17:57:55 +0000 UTC]
I seriously do the same thing!
I just add color and whatnot.
I...I don't have a workable scanner.
I just use my phone.
Take the picture, upload the sketch to Facebook,
then I screen-shot it and take it into FLASH and
photoshop.
Sorry this took so long to reply to...some weird
site maintenance blocked my ability to reply.

AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 18:38:24 +0000 UTC]
It think it's the easiest way.
Also, you can upload the it and be like,
"Oh my god guys, I sooo can't draw...ugh!"
Then upload the finished product and show off.
XD
I love doing this.

wow form where I go to school anyone who looks at my art either hates me from how it looks or is impressed from what I draw I don't think I'm that great compared to what I have seen on DA and I don't really show any of my friends my art
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 18:48:33 +0000 UTC]
Wow....why are people like that? :c
Not all my friends like my art but I still do it
anyway.
Just post all the things on facebook and dA.
I know that feeling.
It's when you're looking at the most
detailed painting and you're just kinda depressed
by it, right?
If I find something like that, I just study it.
I try to copy the style and compare mine to theirs.
This seriously works.
BIG WALL OF TEXT!

silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 18:51:58 +0000 UTC]
It's because of the school I go to and I don't really get to see any of my friends all of them are at a different school now
yea I hate going to museums because that is the art most of the world likes and I know I can never make any kind of art close to that
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 18:58:29 +0000 UTC]
You still have me bro!
I..I don't know if that's much though
All you gotta do is think positive.
Think of the people who view your art and
favorite your things.
If someone fav's something on here, my brain goes,
"Wow, someone actually liked that, I should do some more"
It's the little things that count, right?
The whole museum thing, Just bring your sketchbook and
sketch out some of the paintings.
Absorb the way they did their paintings.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 19:02:41 +0000 UTC]
I think your art is way better then mine
yea I think the same way the more people favorite my stuff and comment the more I want to post even if it is just a sketch
I've tried that but the museum I went to didn't like that much at all and that made no sense
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 19:12:59 +0000 UTC]
Blame it on the programs.
I'll start looking around to see if I can find them for you.
That's the only thing that keeps me going!
XD
It's just such a great feeling.
What?
That's crazy...
The museum I went to encouraged people to bring sketchbooks.
Although the same place isn't fond of backpacks.
"You'll hit the art"

I was talking to my father and he told me that he has some programs that he would give to me
yes it is im doing everything i can to get noticed for my art i kind of feel like a bad artist because i love a lot of my really bad art there aare some things posted in my scraps some of the stuff is just random other stuff is real art that i like
i only brought a small sketch pad and pencil and they disliked it and the art there wasnt that great sadly

AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 19:25:13 +0000 UTC]
And suddenly this day got better.
FREE PROGRAMS!!
Think of your art as children.
I love all my art and some I don't care for that much.
The stuff that I love gets edited in Flash and the photoshops.
I've seen people bring HUGE sketchpads into some.
Some guy brought an easel and paints once.
>Then that art wasn't worth the effort!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 19:32:10 +0000 UTC]
yep my dad likes seeing what art I show him and he is planning on getting me some program and then something i think its the new inkling pen he thinks i will be able to get a lot out of it
yea i do my best to make my art special and look nice them my favorite art gets edited and coloured
yea when i didnt really draw my parents made me travel some and we went to some really cool museums and i saw people drawing everywhere and that was one of the things that inspired me to start drawing

AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 19:41:39 +0000 UTC]
I hope you get Flash or photoshop.
I absolutely love those two.
Illustrator is something I have been wanting to get and
learn. But I'm cheap..
I have drawers full of old art I want to re-do.
I really hope I find them all and the time to do 'em.
The thing that made me want to draw was the ability to
move someone, emotionally with an art piece.
That amazed me. :>

silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 19:46:04 +0000 UTC]
i just hope that i get something better then what im using right now
yea i have some sketches that i have been wanting to redraw and stuff like that
yea that was one reason i wanted to learn how to draw i also wanted to learn how to draw because its almost like a universal language of expression or at least thats how i see it
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 19:52:13 +0000 UTC]
When are you going to know
what programs you're getting?
If only there was more time.
The last reason for me is to one day
produce an income of doing what I love.
Which is art.

silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 19:56:52 +0000 UTC]
once my father gives it to me and i don't know when that will be
yea time is always the reason for everything
that would be amazing i bet you could actually do that your art already is amazing i dont think i will ever be that good though i have ideas of some day going to med school but if you knew more about me you would say that i still have a lot of time to think about what i want to do for a job

Me too.
As soon as I graduate I plan to go
to school for graphic design and animation.
I'm not gonna lie here, I really think you
could to school for art. You should.
Wouldn't it be cool to do what you
love forever?

silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 20:12:34 +0000 UTC]
me too
that seems very cool good luck to you
i would love to do what i love a lot and weirdly enough up with drawing i really want to learn how to become a doctor as well and i am in an art class and and im also going to be in honors art but it isnt that special really for everything i want to do and can do already nobody remembers that im only in 8th grade XD all of my friends are in high school but im left in it dust stuck in middle school
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 20:22:27 +0000 UTC]
You're only in 8th grade?
Wow, comparing my 8th grade me to you is just....
I couldn't draw for my life in 8th grade.
I'd show you some of the thing I did that year...
but that was 3 years ago. Xp
The only thing I noticed since 8th is that my art somehow improved
greatly.
It's like once I hit junior year, my brain just decide I could draw.
It was weird.
Next year you'll be in high school so you'll be reunited

silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 20:29:26 +0000 UTC]
wow well i mostly have learned from my friends and its just amazing what they can do and yea i am in 8th grade but im in advances science art and advanced orchestra as special classes and just last year my srt started looking half ok
from this year of school i will have a lot of time to draw in my free time and its really weird because of all of the people who want to look at my art
no not really my friends go to two different schools one school that two of my friends are at i have to get accepted into an advanced program to get in the other school has all of my other friends
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 20:34:40 +0000 UTC]
Besides the normal classes, I'm
in advanced art 3 and graphic web design.
If your school has a graphic design program you should
probably take it. It helps A LOT!
The only free time I have is 6 hours at most.
On the weekends, I have until I wake up and
until I go to bed.
What makes the school so different that you have to
be accepted into?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 20:39:18 +0000 UTC]
i will never go into the graphic class at my school the people who take those classes do such wrong things and i want to have a class that will actually challenge me not take up my time i would love to learn how to do all of that stuff its just the teacher isnt that great
wow
well i would to to one school because of where i live but if i get accepted into the program i can to to the other school even though i dont live in the area its not that special but there is a program that lets you into the school even if you dont live close enough to it
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 20:45:51 +0000 UTC]
Trust me.
The people in my class are horrible at
the entire class itself.
It all depends if you have respect for the program
or not.
I've actually taught some things to the teacher about the
programs XD
I have never heard of such a thing.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-10 20:50:17 +0000 UTC]
i would love to be in a class that is like that but i was in wood shop and the people in wood shop also take the programming computer classes and they truly are asses they abuse the computers and look up really nasty stuff and the teachers dont care about it
its an IB program
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AbsoluteFormula In reply to silverlaux [2011-09-10 22:39:11 +0000 UTC]
People always do that.
Just sit at a computer far away from everyone else.
There's only like 6 people in that class.
It's nice and small.
I have seriously never heard of anything like that before.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
silverlaux In reply to AbsoluteFormula [2011-09-11 19:18:23 +0000 UTC]
yea maybe if i get a chance i would go into a class or maybe just learn by my self with my free time
oh well its just something that makes you go into all of the advanced classes it helps with getting into collage
