hey what is Death Note about, like I've been wanting to know for awhile, maybe start watching it?

Really? You don't know? Well, basically it's about a high school student (Light Yagami) who is brilliant but extremely bored with his life and finds a Shinigami's notebook with which he discovers if he writes someone's name down (and he knows the face) the person will die within 40 seconds of a heart attack. He then decides to rid the world of all bad people, and begins killing criminals of all types, whether they're in jail or whether they've just been arrested. He becomes wrapped up in this power, and decides he is going to create a new world, and that he is going to be the god of the new world and goes a bit crazy with the power. The police of course are looking for who ever is killing all of these criminals (nicknamed "Kira" by the public) but have no clue. Then comes the mysterious detective known only as "L" who joins the case to help them track down this unknown serial killer and it becomes a cat and mouse game between L and Light each trying to find the other first. It's a brilliant anime/manga, exciting, realistic even when dealing with supernatural powers and beings, and you never know exactly which way things are going to go. You should definitely start watching it, you won't be sorry.
