Pretty sure I'm not a wolfaboo.

But you claim to be a mythical creature that does not exist. You may not be a wolfaboo, but you are definitely strange.

Does not exist? I beg to differ.
There are far stranger things about me than my spiritual beliefs.

I invite you to admire my collection of dead birds and shiny things, literature on my walls written in blood and proud history of psychopathy. Well, not really, I live in an endless state of melancholy. Only when I shift does it briefly pause, to consume me in love or rage.

Reality is as make-believe as therianthropy.

Reality is different for everyone, subjective, and it can be altered. Science may not've yet made it tangible to the masses, but therianthropy is very real to some.

Oh, sorry!
I'm looking back over what I said to you, and honestly, I came off as rude.
Please, forgive my comments.
I wouldn't have cared if you were a zoophile.
I was attempting a joke, and failed miserably...
Though I'm glad you seemed to take it in high spirits.

Don't worry, you sound like a nice person.
However, you do come off as a therian. Am I correct?

BishopBlitz In reply to Dylithe [2011-08-04 05:45:20 +0000 UTC]
I do?
Well, yes, I am technically a therian.
Although I broke the 'norm' of not creating a fursona.
For some reason, most therians disapprove of it.

Dylithe In reply to BishopBlitz [2011-08-04 06:36:56 +0000 UTC]
Cool, I have a fursona too, and many different "personas". I never knew most therians disapprove of it, though I only just discovered the community.
Care to tell me about your "theriotype"?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
BishopBlitz In reply to Dylithe [2011-08-04 16:24:55 +0000 UTC]
Ehe, well...
I identify with a Fennec Fox...
The smallest, yet smartest canid on the planet.
I just felt right with that identity...
The therian community commonly tears itself apart on witch hunts, looking for poly-weres, or people who identify with more than one animal. For some reason, most therians I have met are less than kind to outsiders, and openly despise furries.
I like to think that I'm a harbinger of peace.
Pfft, I know it's silly...

Dylithe In reply to BishopBlitz [2011-08-04 22:46:30 +0000 UTC]
The smartest? Peh, then I'm the fluffiest
ANYwho, I sorta understand why the therian community are that way. I don't care, I just feel joyful that I can associate with people going through similar experiences, despite living on a small island at the bottom of the world. THIS is why the internet is great.

Yeah, we all seek that certain place in life that we can find like-minded people.
New Zealand, is not one of those places, I imagine...
Hm...
So your a Kitsune from New Zealand, huh?

Dylithe In reply to BishopBlitz [2011-08-04 23:34:52 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, and we don't get many foxes here. Foxes aren't my favourite animals (cats are), but I have these experiences, visions, it's something that's "haunted" me for my whole life. I'm not sure whether I shift on a physical level or only on an astral one, but when I do I feel truly free. I'm pretty convinced that a fox spirit entered me during prenatal development, or something.
I'm comfortable with talking about it openly because very few people would believe me unless I shifted before their eyes, which is something I'm terrified of.

BishopBlitz In reply to Dylithe [2011-08-04 23:50:50 +0000 UTC]
Now that is truly divine!
Quite a story there, and since I clearly cannot be there to see for myself.
I'll take your word on it, then!
I don't think there is any fennec foxes here, and certainly there are no fennec kitsunes.
I'd love to think that I was a kitsune, but I don't think so.
I think I would notice that! X3
But I had strange dreams all my life, and Sometimes I feel like I have... Phantom limbs, I think it's called, as if I was supposed to have them, and I can feel them... But they aren't there. Only in my dreams.
But sometimes I could swear I had a body part, like a tail!
I swear it to you, I am no liar!

Dylithe In reply to BishopBlitz [2011-08-05 00:48:27 +0000 UTC]
Thanks. I can never totally trust anyone, but if you truly believe something I respect that.
Not sure if the Japanese distinguish kitsune from normal foxes, just that the foxes they lived with had "supernatural" powers. I can relate to the mythology, though most therian foxes can't, so there must be a difference.
I often feel like I have a tail, or should have one. When I'm happy, I feel somehow like a dog with a docked tail must feel, unsatisfyingly wagging their stub. I don't often shift, but I did last night, it was beautiful. Being a human is far less enjoyable than being my true fox self, but it's how I survive.

Well of course, I cannot disprove you, so clearly you must be what you say.
Just like I take the lives of characters in books seriously, as they are just as real as me. Maybe the author is writing about a true person? I would never know. So when they die, I feel grief for them.
I'm not very savvy on Japanese lore...
But I know that it is not normal to feel limbs that aren't there, and dream about being a different species every night.
So maybe I'm just some silly boy, who cant discern his own species.
Maybe I took on the spirit of a fox.
Or maybe I'm just completely insane.
I don't care, I'm happy.

Dylithe In reply to BishopBlitz [2011-08-05 01:32:43 +0000 UTC]
You can't truly disprove anything, though.
I also take the lives of "fictional" characters seriously. My Fallout OC, Gloria, is more real and meaningful to me than some stranger across the street. Everything we see is really just a construct of our minds.
I'm not too savvy on Japanese stuff either, and weeaboos annoy me more than any other race of wannabes. But I like the mythology, perhaps as much as ancient Greek and Roman.
I used to be utterly confused about my identity, not that I ever really doubted my therianthropy. Which animal, though, was hard, it always centered around cats, mustelids, dogs or some hybrid. Seek and you shall find. Eventually. What do your dreams involve? I've always been able to run really fast and change form in my dreams, which are frequently about chasing, touching or listening. I dream A LOT, which is one of the reasons why I'm always so tired.
Questioning your sanity probably means you're sane. Being happy, however...

BishopBlitz In reply to Dylithe [2011-08-05 02:22:09 +0000 UTC]
You are more interesting than I could have ever imagined!
First, my dreams...
Most of them go along the lines of being so realistic, that I forget what I'm doing.
I just crawl around, usually it all starts with me waking up in a dark hole with other creatures of the same species. Really, all I recall from that beginning is the eyes of my fellow den members. From there, I exit out the loamy den entrance, and it's usually really bright out. The ground there resembles sparsely vegetated sand, and dried dirt.I usually go off aimlessly into the desert. It's a recurring dream that ends differently each time.
Second, yes; I am a monist idealist pantheist, and my belief is that the universe is made of only mental perception on a plain of physical objects.

Dylithe In reply to BishopBlitz [2011-08-05 03:24:16 +0000 UTC]
Thanks, I don't get THAT often!
So realistic that you forget what you're doing? *scratches head*
What different species do you dream of yourself as? I don't get recurring dreams so much as recurring scenes and people. Sometimes, I dream dreams of dreams dreamed years ago (oh so many layers of dreams, it's like deja-vu!).
Yay, new words! *Googles monist idealist pantheism* Hmm... sounds exactly like my beliefs. Actually, I'm a PANENTHEIST! In a way, I think of infinity as my God. And I'm a bit of a nihilist.

Yeah, its hard to explain what it's like...
My dad said I should see a therapist, but I'm not crazy.
But yeah, that's cool to find out, that your a Pantheist.
There aren't many of us.
Now that I think about it, there really aren't many Therians, or pansexuals...
Gods, why am I seemingly swimming in an ocean of strange, and abnormal?
There are so very few people of my ilk.
It's disheartening, and it makes me feel alone.
Even though I'm surrounded by friends, family, and the like, I really can't identify with any of them.

Sorry 'bout the wait. Sleepover
I sought therapy for my depression and anxiety disorder, but they just put me on medication. So I was like, "fuck this shit" and sorted out my own problems. Some depression, self-mutilation, angst, My Chemical Romance and an existential and identity crisis later, here I am.
I love labels. I'm more than just Emily, I'm a pansexual pantheist sadomasochistic non-conformist nihilist therian girlfag furry bastard and proud of it. Yikes. Chatting with you has been really nice, I can't identify with even my best friend. I'm sure there are plenty of people of your "ilk", seek and you shall find.

Oh, no problem!
But my goodness, you sound like you have had a difficult past.
Well, it really was wonderful conversing with you.
I'm glad I tried a crappy joke to break the ice...
If you wouldn't mind, I would like to ask to add you to my list of furiends!
If that's okay with you, of course.
