oh geez, thanks for that ^_^... I'm seriously getting pissed though, apparently loads of people consider what I do (pixel dolls) to not be art and the fact that I do it makes me a failure... oh and apparently I'm suppose to waste 100 bucks on a tablet so I can 'draw properly and make real art'... fuck them ALL

They don't realize just how hard dolling is and you are very good at it; it's hard to tell they really are dolls ^^. Tell them if they don't like it, don't look at it. And tablets are fucking expensive, it's not like you have a ton of money to throw away on one...and you have a kid to boot.

Oh of course i have. I just dont take it out on someone who really is just stating an opinion. I find you fascinating because you defend yourself with anger issues and ranting. If you have a child. You need to learn some self control. Because if you cant check yourself before you hit submit i can only imagine the words to drop out of your mouth. Im not arguing. However you will take it. Im asking questions and correcting you when i find flaw in your ranting. Let me ask you something. Why exactly do you care so much what other people think?

o.O I never get angry at my daughter, that's just horrifying. I've never yelled at her or around her, if I'm upset or angry I vent it out in my bedroom or the bathroom or I vent on a journal or something online. I would never ever yell at my daughter because I was angry with someone else, that's just cruel. Please don't assume that just because I have a temper and I can admit that I have a temper that I would take it out around or at my daughter. That's horrible parenting and people that do that disgust me.
It's not that I care what people think it's more so that I can admit that I'm wrong. It's also the fact that I grew up being ridiculed for various reasons my name, my social class.. things that I couldn't personally change. I don't get defensive of myself usually, it's more so the people that could be affected by someone being intentionally, well 'prickish' with their opinions and that can be hurtful and discouraging for other people, it bugs me seeing other people get hurt or discouraged because someone else decides to be a prick instead of voicing their opinions in a constructive manner. I could care less what others think of me unless they're calling me dishonest or are looking down on my for being a single mother.. but I can admit that I was wrong and apologise for being a bitch..

I believe I said "imagine", not assume. Therefore I assumed nothing. Also I never actually said anything about your daughter. I'm talking about you. You're a mother, maturity is supposed to come with the territory.
Also, if I were you I would watch how you address things, if you don't like people expressing strong opinions, don't express them either. My mother did that to me when I was a teenager, being too angry and taking it out on me, but she's not a horrible parent. And she's not disgusting. She has flaws. Like everyone.
I think if anything, you really need to look at yourself from someone else's perspective. You look down on those who act "prickish" but I'm certain that someone else could look at you the same way. Many pixel artists don't stand up for themselves because they earnestly do not care. They do what they love and that's fine with them. They do art for fun. Enjoyment.
This is gonna sound very cheesy and old school but: Art is expression. When it becomes a job, a task or just a continuing requirement to get better, then You're missing the point. Progress is not detrimental to art. Expression, feeling and enjoyment is more important. If you lose that, then what are you arting for at all? So really, if you didn't care, like a lot of pixel artists, you wouldn't be so angry.
Art is an opinion.
We all have it. We may not like others'. And They may not like ours'.

yes well the difference is my daughter is three and you weren't taking out anger on a three year old is disgusting.. no matter who you are. When you're a teen you get it more, hell my mom does the same thing the difference is though I'm old enough to understand it's not my fault, that doesn't stop it from hurting my feelings when either of my parents does it, so excuse me for saying I think it's disgusting to vent anger out on your children.. that and she's three so screaming around her still effects her. I never meant to infer anything bad about your mom.
Never said progress was, I told I care because I can't help imagining how discouraging comments like that would be for people starting out in the pixeling community. I've said it twice now I think, I don't care what you say about me but people who are younger, easier to influence and hurt, I mean I've met pixellers on here that are 11, 13.. some as old as 30. Not everyone has the emotional maturity to take things as a simple opinion and be done with it, things can be hurtful whether you're realising it or not. That's why I cared, not because you were exercising the right to express yourself and your opinions.
And Art is an opinion, no on can really tell anyone else about what art is exactly, because everybody will see everything differently.
I am sorry though if my comment about anger and children offended you. I probably should have been more specific..

If they're 11 years old, then they will be banned off this site. Because there is actually an age limit.
But the point is, people are offended because they're cushioned. The real world is not nice. I think it's doing more harm to block them off from every form of "cruelty" than to just let them put up with a stamp that really doesn't target any one person.
Personally, I dislike children. A three year old may or may not remember screaming. A 13 year old who can't leave, but is fully aware of what's happening, is just as much affected because they have complete memory [with exceptions].
As you just said at the bottom. Art is an opinion. Opinions don't always have to be positive. Keep that in mind.

I can see where your coming from with the age thing, it does suck. Which is why I choose not to get angry in front of my daughter. And you'd be surprised what you can remember from being a three year old, if not screaming then impulsive responses. But yeah being older might be worse, however I'm hoping that my daughter never has to know the difference.
