Cool work you have, inspires me to sculpt!
I LOVE your back tattoo, and the meaning behind it. I look forward to working on my first full back tattoo someday.

I'm incredibly impressed with your gallery. You have so many interesting ideas for someone so young (like me! =]) Did you study art at a university? If so would you mind me asking where? I'd really love to get into glass blowing but my school doesn't offer any courses...how did you get into it? Thanks a bunch if you respond =]

Thanks. I went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for special effects. Graduated. Then went to Ohio State for psychology. Took glassblowing as an elective and that was it... I was hooked. Switched my major right there...
Colorado eh? There's a spackling of schools with glass programs across the country. Boulder "may" have a glass program, but I don't think so. Goto GlassArt.org and see if you can find any local shops. Something to dip your toes into!

Wow, you are so talented! O.O
I love all of your sculptures, they are just so full of something. They give off a certain vibe that makes them unique, that not only makes you think 'wow, that would take some time and would be pretty hard to make' but also 'there is something about these that is special.
I swear they have some sort of weird fluidity to them. Especially the skytrees; I kept imagining they were going to move!

Thanks very much. Glad you stopped by and left some feedback. I try to convey that sense of motion in a lot of my pieces, so I'm glad it's coming through!

On the tree tattoo, I was wondering if that piece is on your back, and if it is, how much it cost you to get it done???
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
LaughingTree In reply to CosmicHippi [2008-04-28 23:40:00 +0000 UTC]
Yup. that's my back. And I won't say quite how much it cost, but I only paid for half of it and that half was easily over $1,000.

CosmicHippi In reply to LaughingTree [2008-04-29 15:42:02 +0000 UTC]
Very cool, the only reason I wanted to know how much it costs was because I am working to be a tattoo artist and I am curious about how much other tattoo artists charge for their work. Thankx for the estimate though. . .

LaughingTree In reply to CosmicHippi [2008-04-29 22:53:13 +0000 UTC]
My tattoo artist generally charged $100 an hour when I first started, but of course on something this complicated and long, he would give a better rate since it took so many hours... Hope that helps a little bit more.

Woot! yet another Dreadhead artist! I must say your glass work is stunning, I would like to see with without the barriers of the internet. It seems you and I have a similar inspiration from the beautiful trees. Keep on!

Alas... The dreads are no more... Actually it's been almost 2 years since I cut them off. It's safe to say I haven't uploaded a recent picture of me on here in quite some time! Hooray for trees though! Hooray indeed!
