wow, so you moved too !!! I moved by the mediterannean sea in the South of France... it's really nice here... sunny and warmer than where I was before... and a lot less humidity as well which is better for me...
Anyway I can't wait to discover Washington state through your pictures... I've seen scenery from around there with my best friend who lives in Oregon... next time I visit her, I'll give you a shout and may be we can catch up and go on a walk or something !!!
I wish you all the best in your new place... let's keep in touch

That would be wonderful! Yes...humidity, extreme summer heat, smog and allergies were my enemies at the old house... and I basically moved in self defense.

haha, self defense... as long as it works for you and that you are happy, it was indeed a great decision

Welcome to Washington! Stormy weather approaching, hunker down! Thanks for the great comments on my Cooper's Hawk and Hummingbird photos! During the winter months, Anna's would be the only likely candidate to see, Rufus migrate in for the summer - my Black Chinned would only show up in Eastern Washington, unlikely to see over here.
Wonderful to hear from you! Rob the Swash

Thanks, and you are quite welcome... those were great shots. Yes, I hear there is a chance of snow as early as Fri or Sat. Got quite a windstorm last night in fact... I do remember you had warned about the Peninsula's winds. There were some gusts up to 63 mph last night, but it didn't worry me too much... we had pretty nasty winds in So Cal on a regular basis, so it is nothing new for me... In fact my new house seems to actually be in a more sheltered location than my old one, LOL. Thanks for letting me know more about the geographic distribution of hummers up here... I have a lot to learn.

how kind of you to feature me in your latest journal
as it happens, living in New Mexico demands real conservation of our most precious resource water and we've spend many years transforming our property to a nearly self sustaining collection - distribution system for our back yard plant demands

Southern California is a desert too... we just forget that because of all the water we import.
If you have more information on "how" to do the water collecting to save it for redistributing to the garden, I would really appreciate that info.

we use roof drain spouts to divert rain water to 100 gal drums at each corner of our home
the collected water feeds into a 1,000 tank which then pumps the collected water around the perimeter and to any veggies we plant in our barrel garden during non-monsoon days -
when the collection water tank is empty - we switch our drip system over to take water from the city system so our plants never get starved of the precious commodity
PLUS: the collected water does NOT drain over the streets collecting contaminates which in turn keeps our local river - the Rio Grande - much cleaner too
for more information - i'd have to ask my contractor who put the system in for us five or six years ago

Thanks so much for the kind comments and all the s on my gallery. RCPage is a very good friend of mine. I own a wonderful, but slightly older Fuji S5200 (known as the S5600 in Europe). I do plan on upgrading to one of Fuji's newer superzoom cameras in the near future, but I have not yet decided which one I will choose. Be very careful of the model numbers when you compare ads at different stores... Fuji has a confusing numbering system for their products... My older camera has a higher number than the new one that you are looking at. I was planning on getting a Fuji S200EXR until Fuji intoduced several newer models including the one you are looking at.
My own Fuji camera is only 5.1 MP but it does have a 10x zoom, and the main reason I want to upgrade myself to a newer one is that I want more MP and a little higher zoom. I have been extremely happy with my Fuji over the 3 years that I have owned it and that I do plan on buying another Fuji bridge camera, rather than a DSLR... partly because of the lower price, but I also like the way Fuji images look, I like the way their buttons and menus work, I like the way their cameras are balanced with good solid grips, etc. and I don't have to worry about changing lenses for different tasks.
I am sorry that I can't tell you much more about the specific model that you are looking at, since I have not seen one in a store yet, and it is too new to have many reviews, but they generally produce excellent cameras. If you have some other questions, please send me a note, and if I find out anything more, or find a good review with sample photos, I will send you a note.
