I haven't faced Artorias today, but I think I might later.
As of right now, I just defeated what I think was the easiest boss of the game, the Ceaseless Discharge.
I don't know if I missed something, but I did NOT grab the armor until it was dead. I instead started the "boss fight" by shooting an arrow in its head(I think. It's really hard to tell what is a face on a thing whose body is molten and kind-of looks like a melted brownie packed with fecal matter.) and the fight started. He/she/it used the same move over and over, which was very simple: smashing its arm on the ground. I literally took NO damage and had no problems facing him/her/it, and it felt like the 20,000 souls was too much. 
I do happen to hopefully be getting Bloodborne on its day of release. I did it with Smash Bros for 3DS, and I hope to get it so I can die over and over again with "glorious" PS4 graphics on its launch. I looked at all info possible...and I WANT MORE! I actually really want this, and thankfully I see something that will be holding me down until then: The February 5th update for Dark Souls 2. Seriously, they are adding what looks like a TON of content. Too much to look forward to in the future.

I haven't gotten through a single Dark Souls 2 DLC yet. They're really... insanely frustrating (Especially the Crown of the Sunken King DLC. I hate that one so much with the poison bs. I haven't tried the Ivory King DLC yet though. ) My main reaction in Dark Souls was one of "ok, I failed, but I wanna keep trying again." But for Dark Souls 2, I end up raging so much cuz everything is really bs. Like you really need someone to help you out through the DLC. But yeah, I'm thinking of the same thing---I should beat all the DLCs before Bloodborne release---and that's 2 months left. Otherwise I would never go back to them again lol. For the Ceaseless Discharge, I grabbed the armor first and initiated the boss fight. Strangely enough for my case, the boss kept using this fire move on me which made the fight notably more difficult. After a couple of tries, I could dodge them but only barely. Well, after you beat him, you can at least move on forward to the next area called Lost Izalith---you'll ultimately find a boss with one of the lord souls there (Bed of Chaos). I suggest you look at a video for this one because it is one of the few bullshit bosses.

Okay, so I have a bit of a story to share with everything that happened throughout today...
Well, I decided to go to the Great Hollow, and made it to the Ash Lake and defeated the Hydra. Joined the Dragon Covenant and cut off the Everlasting Dragon's tail to get the sword. It looked amazing, plus dealing about 27 more damage than my Black Knight Halberd +5, I thought for sure the game was going to be at least slightly easier. NOPE. A big kick in the nuts, as it somehow does LESS damage against the enemies I tested it with, which were also tested with the B-Knight Halberd. Why? Why does this supposed "almighty sword" deal about 210 less damage against Crystal Golems, and why does the tail of the "Everlasting" dragon literally break after four heavy two-handed swings that do not even deal much damage? Fuck. I also even got over-hyped of it because I even Sanctuary Guardian Soul duped my Strength stat to 50 just to hold the thing in my character's hands. All for nothing, a false prophet, a mere sword of lies. I also want to share a glitch I had happened a LONG time ago back when I was stuck at the Hellkite Dragon: I was trying to kill it, and I ran out of arrows. So on my way back, I exited the bridge, and made it to the small area that leads to where you meet Solaire, and as soon as the dragon went off-screen, he died. 10000 Souls awarded for running away. I have no idea how it happened, and I even remember literally saying "What the fuck?!" when it happened. Good stuff. Not-so-good stuff. The Bloodborne hype is real.
