I'm wondering if you would have some advices about how to begin pixel art ? I kinda want to try it but I don't really know if there are some special techniques I should know before ?

Hey there! ;W; thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my profile! I really appreciate it! nwn
For me, the biggest piece of advice was not to start off small, but to draw what I wanted to make on a big canvas first (so 1000x1000 for instance) and then shrink it down after I'm happy with the sketch.
I struggled for ages trying to start from scratch on a 50x50 grid, and that was really hard because there's such a small area and not a lot of room to make mistakes.
But if you start big, change the image size down to 50x50 (or however big you want it), then make a new layer on top of that, it's like a handy little cheat background you can line over, and have a good idea of where you're going! c:
The second piece of advice I'd say is to break areas with a lot of gradient, or colour heavy characters (see my piece Here ) into maybe 5-6 main colours using the eyedropper tool, then gradually transition between those colours in stripes or a cross hatch or other pattern .
This is called Dithering, and canΒ make transitions between colours less jarring, or simply add really cool textures to your art!
