Hey. I've been seeing your drawings popping up in certain tags lately, and I want to give you a few pointers.

You should maybe consider drawing your characters and your RP buddies in different stances, rather than just copy-pasting the same base and sticking different colours/features on them. Try picking up some art guides and drawing different poses at different angles! It's understandable if art isn't your forte, but it would help to vary up your gallery and make it look like you're at least trying. It'll give you a lot more satisfaction too, should you ever decide to look back on your portfolio.

Also, solely relying on the dodge/burn tools to highlight/shade is not a good idea. They make your drawings look smudgy and unpleasant on the eyes, and even the notion of using those tools as a crutch brings along a stigma in the art world. Since you draw anthro animals, maybe try shading using brush strokes to simulate fur/quills.

Hello! That's wonderful advice and I do appreciate it. how ever the reason I do those RP pictures using the same base is because I'm very busy with my job.  I'm a pet sitter and dog walker so I get some crazy hours and don't always have a lot of time for the art. I do those pictures to get the kids designed and posted on specific days.  When I actually do take time to do a proper picture I do enjoy experimenting with poses and expressions and the like.  I know the RP pictures have kinda flooded the gallery but they're not the only things there.  I just haven't had time for art much this year, not as much as I used to.

As for shading I don't currently use a pen and tablet. I work with just the touch pad on my computer. Again I do appreciate the advice and I am trying to work on my art but it isn't my forte as you said...I'm mostly a writer.  But yes thank you for leaving the comment I understand where you're coming from.  I am obviously still trying to improve.

I'm fine =3 Having an awesome time here with Gem.  I'm just discouraged with deviantART lately XD Did you see one of my featured deviations? Forever, Always? Haven't gotten any attention on it except for one of my friends, and I'm quite proud of the picture I'm just...discouraged nobody's paying any attention to it.  Makes me feel like it's not even worth it sometimes you know? lol I'm fine I know I shouldn't get hung up over comments...but that's why I'm glad Gem comments most of the time it makes me feel like at least someone cares, plus, I admire her as an artist so her feedback means the most.  But yeah XD Just bored with dA lately with no recognition I suppose. Otherwise having the time of my life XP

People are more interested in artists who can churn out piece after piece like an assembly line unfortunately it seems to be more about quantity rather than quality pieces like yours and Gems but glad to know your enjoying your time with Gem ^^ she's an awesome person

It is sadly. I hate to nag people for comments, especially Gem but I kinda rely on her to say nice things most of the time because nobody else does, and again, I look up to her so when she says nice stuff about my artwork it really inspires me.  I'll have to check out you page more. I appreciate the nice words I'm mostly just down about Forever, Always because it's gotten no attention at all and I was so proud of it.  Oh she's an amazing person I'm so happy that she's my little sis honestly ^^
