I know, moving countries is hard as balls no doubt, and even more so when its to another continent, and a country that does not speak your language, let alone getting a home and a job and so forth. I think I would not be able to handle all that.

I personally vote for the six star system, but I would really recommend you read Nightfall before, to get a nice glimpse of a race that lives in a perpetual day. (They REEEEEEEEEEEALLY dont like darkness.)
Which gives me a doubt, if Calir evolved in a nightless world, he should find darkness VERY disturbing or dangerous, as he never evolved to know it and his body is not meant for coldness maybe.

CALIR REEEEEEEAAAAALLLYYYYYYYYYYYY doesn't like darkness >__<;;
He is scared shitless of it ;;__;; But he is wandering in a day-night-day-night world for almost 450 years now... he had to get used to it. He panics, when the darkness around him is ultimate; as long, as there is a bit of light - a flickering candle, whatever - he feels at least a bit safer. Moon is quite a help for him, but stars usually don't provide enough light for him. In darkness he can't fucking see anything, that's the main reason for his ultimate phobia... and he additionally hates close spaces, so he is claustrophobic as well OTL
He needs light to be able to see .__.
And yes, his body lacks what we have; the hair layer, as I've once told you... or didn't I? |D I don't quite remember, I tend to open up with you quite a bit, concerning OC's and FIH in special ^^ So cold is quite a challenge for him OTL

Someone that evolved in a sun filled world, would no doubt find space maddening. Surprised Solarians even dared to get off planet, the Nightfall guys didnt handle it well.
I kind of want you to read it not only to get a feel of such a race, but as a possible backstory for when the Solarians first saw a 'night'.
We are not THAT hairy... hence our need for clothes.
As for the suggestions of your planet, I vote for either the multi star system, or maybe have the planet tidally locked, so one side is always facing the sun, and thus eternal day, and the world continents are all on that side, the night side is a frozen wasteland like the north pole, or merely ocean, so they never went there. (I dont even know if you have a map for that world yet to begin with).
