On behalf of Doombringers, please take down the stolen art.
No theft style, no theft grace, no theft power in your face!

I got all my stuff off googling images. I gave credit when I could find sources. What exactly are you referring to when you say "stolen"?

Everything you "got" from Google is stolen. Even giving credit doesn't count. You still took them and posted them without permission.

I'm not 100% on internet law, but I was under the impression that the "Public domain" laws applied, when the source was open and cited. If anyone has beef with something specific, or perhaps that I overlooked, I'm more than happy to cite the sources, or take them down - if in fact there's a specific complaint. Since money isn't changing hands and I'm not claiming credit for the work, and the sources are public domain, last I checked I was ok.

He's right; here's a dA FAQ so you can read about it:

The real owners of any intellectual property, including fanart, are the artists who have copyrighted them and the agencies they have contracts with. If I draw Roshi spanking Tsunade, I have no legal right to those images, which are direct representations of intellectual property owned by Tohei and funmation. "All images and likenesses thereof" is how it's generally phrased. Since I'm not a douche, I'll take any of this site's images down that the artists don't want up - or have any objection to at all, but pretending to own someone else's intellectual copyrighted property because one drew it - THAT is theft. I own nothing here, image wise. I'm just here to make a few funnies.
Those laws exist to protect said intellectual property from unscrupulous parties trying to make a profit off someone else's work, not fanart, or variations thereof. Fanart is generally left alone, even encouraged. The laws cover fanart, because to leave such a loophole would allow exploitation, but it is seldom enforced in the case of fanart on it's own. So he's sort of correct, in a way, but he's badly mininterpreting the purpose and usage of such laws. If one twists the word "theft" far enough, it almost covers what I've done, but only a steaming hypocrite would do so.
That said - if any art I have up here, most of which is stock footage, offends the actual artists, or if any of them want me to take it down for any reason, I'll do so immediately. That's only fair.
Also, the word "theft", as it can reasonably be used, simply doesn't apply here. A no point am I denying usage, removing, or degrading anything whatsoever. Nor an I claiming ownership, nor am I profiting from it. It can even be noted that I'm circulating said art, which can only be good for an artist's rep.

Personally I don't have an issue, but Deviantart may get mad at you. This is because of:
Official written permission or license is required whenever you wish to use artwork or photographs created by someone else; it is also required if you wish to use screenshots, official artwork from a video game, scans from an art book, or any other source material which is considered the legal property of another person.
Just letting you know since I found your submission fairly high up, and thus likely to attract the attention of those who will be quite adamantly opposed to it.

Not just artwork or photos created by someone else, but any image/idea whatsoever that is owned/copyrighted/trademarked by another party. The language used is sufficiently complex and broad that it can be interpreted with a certain amount of leeway, to fit the circumstances. Even given that, demotivational posters based on existent work are in a gray area. What constitutes art, originality creativity, or aesthetics? I don't have a concrete answer. But getting written permission from Peter Jackson and the Tolkien estate to use Gandalf's image on a joke poster seems a bit overkill. Has ANYONE actually done that?
I may not like it, but if I offend any real owners of artwork, I'll be honor bound to remove or modify such. That's the decent thing to do. If anyone else has an opinion, I'll research it, research the context, and form my own opinion based on what I find. There are a variety of opinions floating around, but not so many facts. I try to be aboveboard about it all. It's only a few funnys.
