Thank you! Well,as for I,I improved little by little.

By training paws,teeth,muzzles and when I got comfortable with it,I started changing styles
It’s always different for everyone! Just keep drawing as something you love! Don’t push urself too much or u can get frustrated a lot :/ I got lots of that back in time

I appreciated your interest c: but I'm also always learning,so I don't believe I should say what someone should ou shouldn't do.
As for myself,I started designing because I always wanted a nice design but never could afford one and I ended up learning. A good tip is design some character that you would like to have(but kinda difficult to let go sometimes haha). 

For colors,it depends of your taste. A majority here likes really vivid colors and some like really dull characters,so you can do both. Try looking for color palette sites or aesthetic or mood boards(they give a good idea in general for colors,markings and items).

If you don't want to use bases,but draw them,it's so much better,because you can make expressions,poses,etc. and that's what makes a character interesting! You can give them a personality and a story just with the way you draw them.

I took a time to look your gallery and damn boi. You are doing fine,dude! Just keep designing ;D enjoy yourself while doing it and don't rush things. You can start a design all over again for as many times you want and take the time you need. I take about 2-5 days to complete a design. 2 days if I start at 2 pm till 11 pm and if I'm inspired haha.

I hope I helped a bit? Sorry if not. If you have no idea of markings,google real life animal coat makings and enter adopt groups to see other's designs. Maybe it can inspire you or make you see what kind of things people buy the most
