Ok... this is going to be long -__-" Order below doesn't matter.

1) You submit art. The medium and artistic level doesn't matter. You can join "groups" to showcase your work to a larger audience. However, most groups have regulations on how often you are able to submit, and what sort of art you are able to submit. Ex. Photographers should join photography related groups instead of traditional art related groups.

2) If you like an artist and their art, it's very common to add them to your "deviantwatch" or "favourites". If you do decide to add someone to your "watch", you will get "deviantions", art work, into your inbox, and also, you will receive other features like journals, polls, critiques, and news. Although journals and polls are the most common features after deviations. To make a poll, you require a subscription which requires $$$$. Whether you are an "active watcher", it's all left up to you. By active I mean that you constantly favourite a person's art work, read their journal, participate on polls, etc etc. This is the same case if someone decides to add you to their "deviantwatch". No worries, no one will be spammed by the comments you send to other people. And in return, you will not be spammed by comments. Unless, you decide to join a lot of groups but you can disable the deviantions.

3) Emoticons are a huge part of this online community. And there are a whole bunch of them for every need ... and I seriously mean that -.-" Take my sparkly journal as an example I will teach you how to add those later because I think I'm making this comment wayyyy to long. So I'll make the following points short and sweet. Oh btw, this is the most popular emoticon ~~~> Soon enough you'll see what I mean =.=

4) You can have a signature like the one at the end of this comment. The one with the rabbit? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

5) You can add gadgets to your page like webcam, deviously info (or something like that), etc etc. Note: The cool gadgets are reserved for people with a subscription.

6) Usually, the more involved you are on DA, you more fun you have. By that I mean that you have friends, are an admin of group or an active contributer, putting you art frequently, etc etc.

7) There's a llama badge that you give to other people, and if people are nice, they in return, will return the llama. Quite personally I think that's just boring but I dunno, some people find it entertaining going to random people's pages to give them a llama =___= ||| Oh and I almost forgot! You get a different "llama title" depending on how many you have.
