Ah...CFX....they were my main employers for a few years too.
I completely understand the whole avoiding the ego's thing...but you know what? There really aren't that many ego's about...not in my circles anyway. I'm just staying away from the big movies. Clash of the Titans was the straw that broke the camels back for me...so much work, so much stress, so many long hours for such a truly, awful piece of cinematic dross. I think my patience with movies has just finally given out. 90% of what gets made is just so depressingly lame...I really can't be doing with it any more. Millennium are such nice folk...and the work they do is always fun...money ain't so good...but hey, life's about more than money yes?

I'm glad you're doing some pro work with Hybrid...you have talent my friend and it deserves to be seen.

Wow some years have gone by since the image days,yes I'm good,I work for Hybrid enterprises now,don't know if you've heard about them,effects make-up company in Leeds?
It was a lucky strike for me as their based about 20 mins away from where I live,that's one reason why I didn't stay down south for work.
I've been with them for a long time now on and off and in-between that I work on my own stuff.
Hows things with you?

It has been a long time yes.
I know of Hybrid....not so familiar with your work though. Don't take offence at that though as I'm the least 'effectsy' FX guy I know!

Ive been all over the place since the Image days...but for the past 2 years I've been at Millennium Fx and very happy too!! It's a nice, friendly place to work and I'm a big Dr Who geek so love working on that show!! I've even started teaching at Neill Gorton's school...just one or two courses a year...so that's new and challenging. Other than that nothing much has changed...I'm still painting faeries for fun and not doing all the things I want to do!!

lol i see tools and equipment,ok you can start with any clay like plasterline,wet clay or chavant any decent art suppliers will have this or can order you some in,try online art suppliers like taranti if you have them and buy yourself a set of dental tool and clay tools,they are cheap on ebay infact you might be able to buy your clay on ebay too,i tend to make my own tools now i use old felt tip/maker pens as the handle and use nickel wound guitar string wire to create the desired shaped tools,remove the tip off the pen insert the guitar string(shaped)and hot glue it in place.

Thanks jahmadeus for the comments,i use alot of texture pads,ill take impression using latex from oranges,old boots,rocks and anything that catches my eye
