I was wondering, where do people usually stay for this con? Are most people in the host hotels or are there other options? I booked a room at a hotel some distance away, but of course I've never been there. I don't know what options are around. Might refund my current booking if a better idea pops up.

That's great!

I've stayed at both the Marriot or the Sheraton attached to the hotel, but I have a few friends who stay at some of the hotels down the street. I'm considering jumping on that boat since it's a good deal less expensive and I don't carry that much stuff between the hotel room and the AA each day. Walking long distances is always a pain with this con, but no one likes paying $700-800 a weekend (+Thurs) for the host hotels. :/
