actually go to themysticalforestzone.com and go where it says sprite's. scroll down and click the icon that has sonic,tails,knuckles,and eggman. choose the sonic advance 1 sprite sheet(it's basically for beginners.) Copy and Paste it to paint. Now when you paste it on paint there might be a black box around the sprite sheet,depending on which paint you have(i have the windows 7 version) you click on the color picker(Tools section) and right click on the black box.(note that not all sprite will have a black box. sometimes there's different types.) after that you undo the sprite sheet,then paste it again. You might still see the black box,so what you do is go to you're select tool(again depending on which paint you use) you click on the transparent selection. this will take the black box completely off and it will go white. Now that it's transparent. open a new paint. copy and paste a simple sprite onto the new paint you opened.
alright now that we got that out of the way let's start with steps of making quills and recoloring.
step 1: How to recolor
this is a very simple step. all you do is (depending on which paint you have) for the classic paint you have to right click on the color you want and for the present paint you have to left click on where it says color 2 and chose what color you want it to be.
after that you click on the color picker and left click on the color of the sprite(note sonic has 3 types of shade in his sprite.) after that you click on the eraser and instead right clicking,you hold it and spread it around the color area you selected.
going back to the different type's of shading, you can't just use one color it would look like a mess and you can't tell which quill is which,soo what you have to do is go to you're edit colors tool(before doing first left click on the color you were using to recolor) and then try to darken the color and then repeat what you did last time just with that color. it's sort of like an endless cycle.Β
