I can't seem to use prisma colors like the pencils they are, I just can't help but use them to cover the entire page in layers like paint, partly because it kills me to still see the white paper when I'm done, plus I never grasped the idea of using opposite colors of the color wheel(what's the technical term for that again...?) like you do so well and so efficently.

Complimentary colors .
They make a huge difference. When used correctly they make shadows and tones look more realistic .

Hey Man, sorry for the mass faves, but your work is amazing, I've seen some fair decent fanart on here, but yours are a class above the rest.
Love your style, and how accurate they are.
One question; how do you go about drawing them?
do you trace using a lightbox or something, or just have the picture up in front of you, or make it up as you go along???

I always work from a photo reference. I start with guidelines and proportional measurements and work with that until I get a tight enough sketch. Then it's all shading from there. I don't use tracing tools but I've heard it's a good way to practice.

Wow, its like all my fandom in one gallery. Your gallery has really inspired me to do some "real" drawings, which will be a great break since PS has been bugging me. Also, some of your work reminds me of one of my favorite figure drawing artists, Henry Yan, are you familiar with his stuff?
