*walks into club room after everyone has left to get burgers, stripping shirt off then noticing there's a shower on.* Hmm... *Smirk. Wanders into the showers, yet again pinning said captain to a wall only this time with hot steamy showerness!* Training late, buchou? *purrs with sexy grin*

"I... Inui!? What the hell do you think you're doing???"
*Tezuka was shocked at how aggressive Inui was being lately. Maybe he wasn't working him hard enough during practice, he still had too much energy*
"If you have this much energy, you should be practicing more.", said with a frown, while trying to twist away from Inui, the other hand groping for a towel.

"I train three times as much as any one regular, buchou... I have the energy because I have over twice as much stamina as Kaidoh does and there aren't enough weights in this club to strap on to slow me down enough anymore..."
*takes towel away from Tezuka*
"As for what I'm doing? ...Something I should have done quite a while ago..."
*leans in and kisses Tezuka just once on the lips*
"Be my doubles partner. It has to be you..."

*Tezuka's face began to color*
*Tezuka was really out of words. Was this about tennis? No, in this sort of situation with that sort of expression... it had to be something else?*
*Processing... Tezuka continued to give Inui the toast stare for quite some time until it clicked. It must have been the kiss that gave it away*
*At once, Tezuka's face flushed*
"Ah... Inui... all of a sudden you... what is this all about?"

"Sudden for you... a long time coming for me..."
*watches him blush*
*Well at least he wasn't adverse to it... if anything he... liked...it...?*
"I want you... to be my partner, Tezuka."
*Slowly leaning in, he kissed him again, only this time deeper*

*Tezuka thought back to all the time Inui spent collecting his data. It had all been for this day, he knew that.*
*In truth, Tezuka had kept Inui along his side all along. He had acknowledged his skills as a tennis player, had acknowledged his skills as a person, someone whom he could trust. Why not as a partner?*
"To be Inui's partner ... I will accept this position with you."
*He said this while searching Inui's face and staring him straight in the eyes. Inui wouldn't be the type of person to joke, this was in all seriousness*

Inui wondered if Tezuka was answering on both levels. Whether he was just talking about the tennis or if he was actually accepting Inui's offer of a relationship. Of course Inui had asked a loaded question, he knew that. But that was also his safety mechanism if the captain was going to flat out reject him. The dataman was careful like that, most of all of his own heart, because he knew the despite everything he put forth, that it was rather fragile. Though he had to go out on a little bit of a limb now.
"My entire time here has been spent watching you. Longing for you. Needing you... and all I had to do was ask?"

[Hooray for third person, Shadow likes third person]
"It isn't that simple. But these past three years, you've proven yourself to me, time and again. I've been thinking, when I went to Germany, I had tennis. And yet, the feeling that after this year when there is no more Seigaku, how it really changes the tennis. And changes me. For now I want to hold on to that. I need you too."

Looks down slightly, feels a slight pang of pain in his chest and nods.
"So... you want to hang onto the feeling... and since I'm worthy in your eyes... I get to be with you?"
The dataman took a moment to process that. So Tezuka would be with him just to hang onto something he was going to lose, and because he knew Inui wouldn't leave him? Well that was true. Inui wouldn't. Though the reasoning behind the other boy's words hurt him slightly since Tezuka didn't particularly want to be with him, Inui would take what he could get and just deal with it. No one in their right mind would ever truly want to be with him, so it didn't particularly matter as to why Tezuka accepted. At least that's what he had to keep telling himself.
Swallowing a little thicker than he should have, he nodded once. "...I'll accept that... just tell me when you find someone you really like and then I'll let you go to them. It's only fair..."

Tezuka noticed the look of hurt in Inui's eyes and began to panic. He didn't mean to hurt the other boy, but his lack of knowing how to put into words his true feelings had caused a problem. How could he tell Inui how he truly felt?
Tezuka was really nervous, he stared at his feet for a bit, not daring to look Inui in the eyes.
And yet, he knew that if he didn't do anything now, they would start off on a bad foot. But how to convey his feelings, this person who had never expressed such feelings before.
Panicking, he did the only thing he could think. He grabbed Inui by the neck and pulled him into a sharp kiss. He just hoped Inui got the message.

Inui blinked as he was pulled roughly into an almost desperate kiss. After a moment of shock he leaned into it and slowly threaded his arms around Tezuka's body, pulling him closer and returning that needy kiss sexily. He could feel the slight fear, that confusion and the sense of panic in the way that the captain had looked like he was about to be hit by a bus just before he'd grabbed onto him and in his rapid heart that was thundering against the outside of his own chest.
"Shhh... slow down..." Inui whispered reassuringly after he'd broken their lips away from each other just slightly. "It's fine, Tezuka. Shh..." he cooed and started to gently run a hand through the brunette's hair.

Tezuka laid his head on Inui's shoulder, just soaking in the pleasure of Inui running his hand through his hair. His breathing was still quick and he closed his eyes to calm his nerves. Tezuka quietly talked from Inui's shoulder, soaking in Inui's warmth and gentle touch.
"Do you think I'm the kind of person who would go with just anyone?"
Tezuka was hurt that Inui didn't have enough faith in him, that his feelings weren't true. He clutched onto Inui's arm.
"That we would be like this until someone else came along?"

"No, not just anyone... but I'm not the one you really want to be with am I?" he asked softly. "I mean the chance of me being the one you actually want when you have your pick of anyone you like... is beyond abismal. It truly is..."
Inui's voice was softer than anyone would have ever heard it right then, like he didn't want to say those words out loud because they'd be even more true when they weren't just a thought in his head.
"So... I didn't want you to think... that you had to stay with me if you ever decided that you wanted to be with someone else..."

These words made Tezuka angry. He wasn't quite sure why, the whole day had been very emotional for Tezuka. Grabbing Inui by the color, he roughly pushed him against the side of the shower.
"Stop saying that! I don't ever want to hear you say that again!"
He was nearly spitting on Inui, so angry that he couldn't see quite straight, and tears forming in the corner of his eyes.
"Don't you understand!? There is no one else! The one I most wanted to hear those words from... the one I really... you..."
Tezuka was a wreck. He had never had such an emotionial outburst before. He just slumped against Inui, shaking.

Inui yelped a little as he was slammed into the side of the shower and watched the other boy break down in his arms. Though at hearing him say that... Inui couldn't help but smile, putting his arms around the smaller brunette and letting a hand come up to cup his cheek, thumbing over it and tilting Tezuka's eyes up to meet his own.
"You've made me very happy just now, Tezuka..." the dataman murmured and leaned down to kiss him tenderly.
Inui let his arms wrap around the captain's body and held him close, rubbing the small of his back soothingly.
