^-^ U have super cute soft mounts, How can I NOT watch?

I have a coyote, but..the way he was tanned...no luck getting a head mount on him...
Sulfate tanned, I think its an acid. I took it to a taxidermist to see if I could get a head mount on him, he said it needs work, an likely it wouldn't work because there's still meat on him. I wasa bummed.
So, I stuffed him still, and he lays by me by my bed. ^-^ I brush him sometimes too, hes very pretty but I cant get him a personality.

Do you have any images of him? I'm not saying your taxidermist is wrong in any way shape or form, but most pros. won't deal with 'questionable' because if they fail, what do you tell/do for the customer?! What if it tears or falls apart?

I checked on a few things about the aluminum Sulfate tanning solution, and it's still used by several tanneries around the country to tan furs for the fur industry. It's supposed to leave the leather side soft and plyable and stretchy. So I don't think that's really an issue, unless your poor coyote wasn't tanned properly.

I'm not saying I can do it either(I'm no pro....lol), BUT if you have any images of his head, and the inside of it, I could give you my opinion if you want it? It is possible to mount his head, and it sounds like he needs a lot of tedious work to be done thinning out his face area. It happens, and needs to be done like 60% of the time anyhow.

I have mounted 3 foxes that were pretty much a no-go, and I knew it. But I couldn't leave them be. I have to have their faces - and restore some of their souls. They deff. didn't come out perfect, BUT I did get them mounted with personalities. Mr. T was the worst: [link] where once wet he bagan to fall apart like wet paper. Then there was Joyride who had a very dry tan with no stretch: [link] and Lefty who had all kinds of holes, a missing foot, a thin pelt, and needed replacement ears; [link]

Aww Thank u! I'll see if my aunt will take pictures. I think E-mail would be better cause He has no eyes and don't wanna post a coyote that has no personality. Thank u for helping me, I'll see what my aunt says about pics. U did those foxes so well u can't even tell they needed work. They are ADORABLE. another thing is the guy said it would be over $600 for all the work, including re-doing the face and turning the ears(his ears were never turned), eyes, head mount, and touch ups with paint around the eyes, that's not including sewing the legs. OMG..way out of price range for me.....that's expensive, plus he never has done a soft mount anyway. I sewed up one leg and it was a PAIN.....the hide is so tough. I had to soak his paw in water to Finnish his leg.

Yeah, that is REALLY expensive. But that fact that he quoted you a price tells me your yote is totally doable! Yes, the legs should be reydrated in order to sew them so they look more normal..lol, and they are easier to sew that way too.

I'll have to look at his ears, - if you decide you want me to plush him - sometimes it's hard to turn them out once tanned cuz the cart. and leather kind of fuses together. My yote salts doesn't have turned ears, and neither of the 3 foxys I mentioned, either.

That's what the taxidermist said, to soak them in order to get a nice sew line. it worked, i got a nice sew line.

UGH! I thought that now since I have a prem. membership, that I could upload the avatar you made me, thinking they/DA would allow for a slightly larger avatar/space for it cuz of the paid membership. But it still says that it's too large.
And I really want to use it.

It loads fine, runs through a full revolution, then the 'image' shows up as blank with a 'broken' red x in the upper right hand corner.
Can you fix it again? I love it and wanna link back to you. :C
