Apparently, we got some kind of DD for "Just West of Eden". I don't know how that works exactly when it is a collaboration. But, anyway, very cool. I am glad people like what we came up with!

Hi Thanks for the rec. I checked out Bibire and am duly
impressed. He seems like he might be doing art 10 hours a
day...and well, that's not me. But his work is a rahter
unique language. And that's a desirable.
Thanks again, Dick Green

Hi Marcel - Dick is a common nickname for Richard, and I
like Dick better. I was in a watercolor society years
ago, and - wouldn't you know it - another Dick Green
arrived on the scene. So...I started, out of necessity
and to avoid confusion, signing my pieces RICHARD. Yuk!
That's life. It's always something. I think the whole
process were into is rather Zen-like. The Beatles sang:
Let it Be. So, I say, let nature do the heavy lifting.
I've seen plenty of paintings that took 6 months to do.
That's not me...us, right? I've got too much to say with
artwork. Time's a wastin'...
Regards from Minnesota USA and Dick Green!

Hi again,
Yeah, you got me confused there with the names Dick. But i understand now.
My name is pretty common in my country so there is no point to use my full name so i use MBKKR.
I even sign my work with it. Just use it long enough and people will recognise i guess.
About the process... Let it be. It's a bit of a mind struggle with me.
Most of my work are drawings and they are getting more and more detailed and symbolic and can take up a lot of time.
But there is another part of me that wants to work more abstract and free so for this process i use painting and is much quicker. Although i would, one day, like to paint the surreal drawings in full color. But the amount of time and struggle to get things right oohhh i'm not ready for that yet... i think.
For me, at the moment, zen-like is about letting go of time within making art and in a lot of other things in life. Like don't pay attention to the feeling that a piece has to be finished NOW, because maybe i'm getting enough working on a piece (then it's time to lay it down for a while and work on another piece) or i want to show it to the world because it hink i would get good reactions on the piece, things like that.
I'm working on a tree with a stippledrawing with inkpen [link] I started this somewhere in the end of 2008 and it's no way near finishing but thats oké. Because it's also about the process itself thats Zen-like. It's only placing little dot's and create a lot of detail but ot works like trance
The thing is, in the first place the art we are making is for ourselfes and off course in the end we want to show the world because well... thats what artists do. But letting go of time and people creates the best artwork i guess. Then there is time to crawl into our own mind to the innerself and flow from there and come out with the work that is the most close to the heart and therefore unique.
So... that's quite a story but i like this discussion so i if you like please reply.
Only if you want to off course.

Dear Marcel - Many folks want to know WHAT I DO. Well,
golly, I think I shall write a new Journal to try in
some detail THE process. First of all, I don't PLAN
anything - I'm afraid to! This paradigm allows me to
not feel like I've failed. It's a little like "Nothing
Ventured, Much to be Gained." Watercolor is the base of
most of my work and to that add : white and black gesso,
gravity ( I tilt the board!) salt, spoons, textural
things I find around the kitchen, a bazillion photos
of all kinds and then my Nikon and finally Photoshop
to put all together. Does that help. Oh BTWay, we're
responding to 'Portrait of a Vengeful God.'
You're wonderful, beautiful...thanks!

Hi Dick or Richard... (i just noticed there are two names)
Thanks for awnsering my question mr. Green .
I think your work looks amazing and is unique.
You have given these works your own signature.
I like the process and it sounds a little fimiliar.
I recently started with blending digital images of paint or drawings, print them out and then draw on top of the print and then just see what it will bring me. It's a fun thing to do.
Greetings from the Netherlands

YOU ARE FREAK'N AMAZING! I love your gallery. I had a baby almost 5 months ago, and I'm sad to say I haven't drawn or painted since he was born. You've inspired me to pick up my materials again. Thanks.
