Can anyone answer why we can no longer center things in artist comments? I would really like to know if anyone can help.

Hm... this sucks, I haven't checked in a while ;n; but I did just know and it still doesn't let us center. I hate this to the point where I don't want to post anything. It's silly but I really liked the centering some things in my artist comment.

Its not silly . . . the artist comments look a lot better centered . . lately i found DA very slow and with soo many bugs, and the groups are really difficult to manage because of other bugs . I have had to change my browser like four times this past four months first IE then Mozilla . . . safari . . . chrome . . . you name it some many bugs !

Thank you for understanding. I'm such a neat freak and not being able to center things is driving me crazy! haha. But I too have seen a lot of bugs with the site and it's racking my nerves. I try and report all the ones I see so that it can be fixed right away. So I feel you when it comes to jumping through browser to browser. It shouldn't have to be like this all the time, even if I understand that dA is trying to make the site better. But the bug issue is getting worse and worse for some reason. Before it was just a one little bug here and there lasting for about a day. Now it's 20 bugs at once and they last more then a few weeks; sometimes months if no one reports them.

I think the site its growing and growing, more people is joining. . and they are having troubles with everything. And there is a big problems . . . i donΒ΄t know where to report a bug or anything . . thats a big failure, it should be easy to find this kind of stuff you know. . . .. But well anyway lets hope it gets better . And believe me . . im a control freak and i want my thing perfect (like centered) and i know how it feel not wanting to post anything sometimes because of the bugs.

Yes, just Premium Members can use Journal Skins, unless dA makes them free for a while, just like a year ago

indeed you can test even if you don't have a PM I have a second account without PM and i use it to test on Firefox and take screenshots
DA stop you when you're going to submit the entry.
(sorry for the double post, i remember later that you're not noticed if I reply on a reply)

You would still be able to make them, though testing and implementing would be difficult. There is a code tester website. I think I have the link in my faves... hold a sec...
Here we go: [link]
You may wish to ask a friend with sub to test your codes.

Hello,
Sorry to bother you but I'm writing to you as the owner of #AnotherContestGroup and I would like to say that we are holding a Journal CSS contest [link] due to us now becoming a super group. So I/we were wondering if you might be able to advertise this for us, our contest has been running for 2-3 days and we've had no interest what so ever so I thought it might be an idea to contact the owners of CSS groups and ask them if they mind informing their members about this contest. If you can do this for us then as a thank you we will put your icon on our journal to promote your group.
Hope you can help.
Regards
Journal CSS Design Contest

Thank you GillianIvy, Hairac and sergbel.
I really appreciate all your swift replies and help, you are the best. I've copied all your replies to pass on to my daughter who is kindly making the skin for me.
Many thanks once again.

I'm not a member of your group, but was wondering if someone could kindly tell me if journal skins have to be a certain size? I'm not making the skin myself as I don't have the knowledge in this department. Thanks.

gillianivyart In reply to Mozisart [2011-01-30 11:28:05 +0000 UTC]
I think a minimum size of 500px (ish, a bit more, I'd say) should be readable on most monitors. And probably no more than 750px wide, as it may be too big for many monitors, at least on the profile page. But if you make one that's an adjustable width, then it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Hairac In reply to Mozisart [2011-01-30 11:14:44 +0000 UTC]
No they don't have a specific size, just be sure that the portion of content isn't too much small or will be annoing to read
π: 0 β©: 0
sergbel In reply to Mozisart [2011-01-30 10:57:51 +0000 UTC]
I don't think it should be a scpecial size. You just to be sure that it is readable and easy to view on most common screen resolutions

Could someone help me? D:
I have a scroll box in my journal and I used some website to get the code for a custom coloured scrollbar:
that.. But I haven't the slightest idea how to get it to work..where do I put it?...

sergbel In reply to Tabon [2011-01-28 11:10:14 +0000 UTC]
I think it won't work because it's not allowed on DA.

It doesn't work in dA journal, may you use it at any website.

I hate to sound so needy, but have another question...
I was wondering what fonts you can have in a journal skin because some work and some don't (or maybe I'm just putting the code in wrong).
Thanks you~!

Hairac In reply to Firestixian [2011-01-26 10:20:39 +0000 UTC]
You can use only system fonts... if you try to use a font that you've installed, it will works just for you and not for other users.

sergbel In reply to Firestixian [2011-01-26 08:19:29 +0000 UTC]
you use fonts with this css code:
font-family:Impact; or other font you like.
Here you can see the fonts:

Good luck

Hi, I was sondering if someone could help me out? I was wondering if it was possible to go back and edit the CSS on a journal that's already been posted as a deviation and if so, how? Thanks!
π: 0 β©: 3
gillianivyart In reply to Firestixian [2011-01-24 06:13:49 +0000 UTC]
Did it work? Any time I've tried to edit an installable it always tells me it can't edit with the image files. Though the image files weren't changed. That's why I always add edit notes, unless there are so many it would be necessary to resubmit.

Firestixian In reply to gillianivyart [2011-01-24 06:25:20 +0000 UTC]
I can't get the file to save as a .txt on my mac laptop, so I'll have to wait until I can go on my PC (I originally just used the 'add text as deviation' option beforehand, so it was not saved to my computer as a file). I did put the fix code in the comments section for now, however. I will try to reupload on my PC later, though.

gillianivyart In reply to Firestixian [2011-01-24 07:35:37 +0000 UTC]
If you re-upload, you would need to resubmit. A good idea to go through your code another time and see if there are any other changes you would wish to make.

Unfortunately, I tried doing that before and I don't know if the problem has been solved by now, but I couldn't edit the CSS on a deviation that day. I had to delete it and re-upload it :/

Firestixian In reply to Drake1 [2011-01-23 17:43:45 +0000 UTC]
Hm, okay. I'll try and hopefully it will work. If not, I'll just list it as a version 2.0 P:

sergbel In reply to Firestixian [2011-01-23 15:02:18 +0000 UTC]
via edit deviation you can upload other css/txt file I think, but then you need to reupload everything
but I'm not 100% sure

I want to change a small part in the code on one of my journal skins (this one, to be exact: [link] )
π: 0 β©: 1
sergbel In reply to Firestixian [2011-01-23 15:11:58 +0000 UTC]
you just edit your code and reupload the file
π: 0 β©: 1
Firestixian In reply to sergbel [2011-01-23 15:15:46 +0000 UTC]
I don't have it saved as a file. I originally put it in the "add text as a deviation" box in the submission page. I did go and get the editted code, I just need to know what type of file to save it as (I think) in order to re-upload
π: 0 β©: 1
sergbel In reply to Firestixian [2011-01-23 15:17:48 +0000 UTC]
it's a .txt file and all your code should be within this tags
