I made a one-hour-show-thing with three other students there, all about summer and holidays, even though it was still February something. We asked some people around town and made surveys, we did some interviews and spent a lot of time editing the whole thing. We picked out music too! In the end we decided to moderate everything live, which was very exciting. We made some little mistakes but overall it was fine and we had a ton of fun! The hour passed really quickly too. And it's kind of insane to think how much work went into just one hour.
I sometimes just read stuff out loud. Usually just from books I like, but occasionally my own stuff too. I like writing stories, but I basically only do it for NaNoWriMo. .____. And I never finish anything. *sigh* But it's still fun! I'm actually supposed to be writing right now.

wow, it sound like a lot of fun! ..and work, but hey, it seems like you really enjoyed yourself, and that outweights the work, right?
Btw, do you know the Welcome to Night Vale podcast?
Yes, books are a great way to train that! ...I have no idea what NaNoWriMo is. RPG? And i know the feeling of never finishing anything! I try to write something short, but then it just gets bigger and in the end a) i loose inspiration; b) i have no clue how to finish. I like to read a lot, so if you would like to show me something, go ahead
btw, i had a crazy idea. do you have a mic? we could try working a text/find one and do some voice acting, wadda ya think? i see a lot of voice acting on tumblr, and thought of doing something, but i can't do a lot of voices and it gets boring alone...never found anyone that really shares my interest with VA xD

I heard of Welcome to Night Vale, mostly because I see fanart quite often. But I never listened to it, because I don't really get what it's about.
NaNoWriMo is a project, usually in November, where the goal is to write 50'000 words in a month. I participated the last three years and now I'm doing Camp NaNoWriMo, which is very similar but it's in April and July. 50k sounds like a lot, but last year I was quite behind on the wordcount and wrote the missing 20k or something on the last day. Which was insane. At the end of the day I was SO done. x'D
The same happens to me everytime I try to write something outside NaNoWriMo. Because in NaNoWriMo I just have to force myself to continue writing, which doesn't sound fun, but it's necessary for me to stick to a story. And most of my problems actually solve themselves when I'm writing. I would like to show you something but I can't, because I write everything in German, since it's my native language. ._.
Well I do have a crappy headset. x'D I actually recorded myself reading The Little Match Girl a year ago I think. We could try doing something, but keep in mind that I have a German accent.

WTNV It's like a fake radio show, we only have a voice (Cecil's) and he tells the news of Night Vale (the strange city that exists yet does not) on his nightly radio show. It's really amusing, and Cecil's voice can be SO relaxing. I have them on my mp4, so sometimes i must look like a crazy person, cause I'm hearing the podcast, and then something really funny comes up and i just crack up right there xD But seriously, I cant understand the fanart of WTNV. I don't remember ever hearing Cecil's physical description, only Carlos' and his beautiful hair (Cecil says that. A LOT. he has like, a major crush on him), so i don't know why they draw blond Cecil... *shrugs* Give it a try here > podbay.fm/show/536258179
Wow...that's a lot of words Oo 20K IN ONE DAY?! HOW?! HOOOW! TELL ME YOUR SECRET, I NEED IT! Dammit, i have a LOT to write, no way i'm going to do that thing xDD But writing can be so terapeutic, right? Usually i just make my OCs suffer. A lot. And sometimes i kill them. xDD
Daamn, i've always wanted to learn german, now would come in handy that knowledge! >__> I write in portuguese and english. Tell me something, how's the writing structure in german? Like when you write dialoge you write ["Blabla," said Lea "That?"] or is it another way? Like, in portuguese, it's something like this [-Blabla - said Lea - That?] with a LOT of dashes. I hate this format, so i stick with the english one, it's easier to the eyes. (I hope you understood the question...)
I know that one! But in german right? Wouldn't understand anything, even if I herd that xD Oh, everyone has accents.Even the english natives have them. Funnier that way! x) (better talk this via note...)

Wow, he really does have an amazing voice. I'll give it a try!
Well the 20k... I just basically did nothing but writing and eating that day. The last 7k or something were really hard and in the end my characters started cursing a fucking lot. x'D That's basically the last thing I wrote I think. Someone ranting and shouting and everybody and calling them out on their shit. It was awesome.
Yeah my current protagonist had such a nice time for the first 15k or something. And then she got attacked by a wolf and then a mad witch and was stumbling around the woods. She was just done with everything. I felt a bit bad for her, but without it it's just boring. u_u
The first time I did NaNoWriMo, I literally wrote about a girl who's travelling the land looking for a cure for her sick best friend and later lover. First of all, they were annoying as hell and a pain in the butt to write. And in the end, when she FINALLY found a cure, the guy died just before. Haha.
Wait, I'll just give you an example. You probably won't understand what they're saying, but that's not the point anyway.
„Das war vermutlich nicht klug“, bemerkte Pilt.
„Ihr habt angefangen“, erwiderte Emmylou. „Wenn ihr bei mir Streit sucht, kriegt ihr Streit, das wisst ihr!“
Kümmel grinste. „Ja, ich weiß.“
In German it's not "..." but ,,..." (deviantart puts it on top automatically, because I switched the language to English, so I just used two commas). I think that's the main difference. Oh I think I saw those dashes in an older book sometime. They really are a pain. =_=
I mean, at least my accent isn't as bad as most typical German accents. When I sing, it sometimes seems to disappear completely, which is kind of weird, haha. Like, when I sind Kate Nash I imitate her voice. My brother was like "Wait, why do you sound completely different?" xD Yeah we probably discuss this with notes.

Did you try listening to the podcast?
Hahaha you're so sick and tired of writing that your character ends up suffering. a lot. it's amusing in a morbid way. like "I can't wait to finish this shit, so DIE. please. DIE you little bitch"; I know that feeling. I'm still debating whether or not i kill a character for a story i'm writing. oh, the tragedy! btw, are you managing to write for the NaNoWriMo?
two commas before the speech? now that i think about it, i think i saw a fic somewhere in that style ,,...". Oh, i'm re-reading the first Harry Potter book, and it's with those dashes, some sentences i have to be real alert if it's the end of speech or not haha.
There are some heavy accents that are hilarious to hear - and you don't get anything they are saying. And well, singing is different from speech, so it's plausible. (I think i sing more deeply than i speak Oo) Did you know there is a disease where you can't walk normally but if you run, you can do it perfectly? even backwards.

I forgot about it again. T_T I feel so guilty.
When in doubt, kill him. Seriously, I'd have to kill off half my characters because I keep creating MORE. I think I have George R. R. Martin syndrom lol.
I kind of managed to finish the 50k words, yes! However I did that. Now I just have to get up and continue writing. Or I just wait until July for the next Camp NaNoWriMo. Yeah let's do that. x'D I'm so lazy it's not even funny. But the thing is, when you write something under such pressure the story ends up being really messy if you didn't make a plan before. Yeah like I could actually make a plan for something and stick to it. .___. So now I have new ideas all the time and it's just hard. For me at least.
Well maybe the person who wrote the fic is German then! It's probably used in other countries though. I don't know. The only ones I know are German, English and French and they are all different. :I
My favorite thing is Germans speaking German with such a heavy accent that I don't understand anything. I watched a short documentary where they had one guy from the north and one from the south and they just had the most extreme accent of the area and it was hilarious. The moderator was so confused. xD
And no I didn't know a disease like that existed. And that is one weird disease. I mean I sometimes feel like I can't even walk properly and I just randomly stumble. But that's not because of a disease. That's because I am a dork.

and you forgot again didn't you? SHAAAMEE!!
I think I also have the same syndrome. Sometimes i joke with a friend whom i show my stories to "haha soon this will look like GoT!". Cause it's true. I make characters just to kill them. there was one i wasnt planning to do but... feeling. let's put ya all with feels.
I take the longest time to write, cause i have the attention span of a firefly, and new ideas always pop up xDD So i get ya bro.
omfg that seems hilarious xDDD poor moderator. I think every country has extreme accents between one side and another. Here in our archipelagos, the accent is so strong that it's hard to grasp! The first time i heard it i didn't understood crap xD
Yes, you're a dork. But an adorable dork.

ALL THE SHAME OF THE WORLD ON ME!
Make them feel all of the pain. I'm working on a drawing right now and was thinking of this story idea I've had a couple of days ago and I just thought... what if she sacrifices herself in the end? Not sure if I'll do that, but I could and I'd finally have an ending for something. But I'd still have to write until I reach that point, haha.
Well I got my 50k and now I'm already developing a new story, oh my. It's not only writing though, my mind always wanders and I say the weirdest things (at least the people around me think it's weird) and I just jump from topic to topic and have sudden random thoughts that I immediately share with everyone around me and it's just a huge mess. Especially because lately my mouth doesn't seem to keep up with my train of thoughts so I've developped the tendency to stutter really bad. It's annoying me so much.
you're adorable too

Or you could give her a deasease that will end in her death. Like, there's one thing that i want to try, tho i don't know where - it's like the cells of your body stop working and slowly your nervous system starts to not working also and when the hearth can't beat any longer, BAM! The pacient has like, a few months to live. Or something like that, i forgot the thecnical details, must google it again, but the gist of it is something like this. wow, today i'm very eloquent! xD
Always new stories. I have one i want to continue, but then i get so blocked for that one, so... let's do another one. and a lots of new ones. yeeah. that's going to work. Eventually.
I think we are kind of twin souls in that department! Cause i bring just the most random topics at the most random times and when i really want to tell/share something, two things may happen: a) i stutter a little ; b) i speak so fast that no one gets it. Most of the time this is what i get in answer is "what did you say?" or sometimes "....repeat. SLOWER." Last weak i was talking something to the class (i'm the representative of the class, don't know if you have something like that...?) and then the teacher "...i bet they didn't understand anything, you spoke too fast." . but things seem so SLOWER in my head that i want to speed them up and end up sounding like a chipmunk.
The llamas. so cute. Gneee i want to crush you in a hug

I almost forgot what that story was about. Just an example of my extreme persistence. x'D But it's related to the ocean of mist, if you've already read that reply of mine!
Yeah I always like ideas when I first think of them and it's all still very rough. Then I work on the actual logic behind it and the storyline and everything stops making sense and I get frustrated because I keep relying on clishés. T_T Which I know you can rarely avoid anyway and that's not even a bad thing but still. In theory it all sounds kinda lame to me so I start working on something new. It's an everlasting cycle of doom.
That's how I feel in English class when I respond to my teacher's question and everyone just drifts away slowly and looks at me like I'm speaking a foreign language. Which I am, but still. x'D As a person who tends to think a lot in English it's just kinda natural to speak the language. I mean it just shows brilliantly that I spend more time listening to English songs and singing them and watching English shows and reading English books or fanfiction than I spend talking to German friends. Wow that just sounds sad lol.
Lately I'm just a bit frustrated because nobody really seems to listen to me properly. Like, even my best friends seems so indifferent and I just want to keep my mouth shut. But then I talk anyway and everytime nobody seems interested I just stop and feel bad again. Communication is hard.
Lately I've been having some kind of obsession with the llama emoticons. They're just adorable.

Aww c'mon now i'm curious about that mist story! And maybe there's like hallucinations like in a desert? But mist induced-hallucinations? and you can have hot mist and cold mist, like the ocean currents? And deep-mist monsters? Haha just tossing ideas like no one's busyness.
It's not our fault almost everything is in english. And we're just cultivating our foreign language lobe (I too read more in english than portuguese, it gets harder sometimes to write in my own mother language than english... sometimes it makes me wonder if i have mother language dyslexia or something haha)
Sometimes my friends do that to me, so i just bug the person next to me and suddenly everyone joins in. But then there are times i feel like such a queen when i speak and everyone's attention's towards me - it feels like "OH YEAH BITCHEES LISTEN TO YA RULER! MUAHAHAAHA" btw i noticed when i speak more high-pinched less people listen to me. So lately i'm guess i've been talking more deep (probably cause i found out my voice sounds much nicer when i sing more deeply-toned so is sorta unconscious...) and when i talk i get better response. Maybe that will help, dunno? JUST DON'T GO SOUNDING LIKE A CAVEMAN!! XDD
btw, i dont even know how they resemble a llama, looks more like a chinchilla to me! adorable nonetheless

STAHP you're making me want to go back to that idea even though I have a new thing I'm working on. The mist ocean seems so delicious now. Damn. Maybe I can combine them somehow? Actually, that could work. I'm off to my thought-cave now.
Well I kinda chose to abandon the German dubs though. What can I say, English is one of the things I'm really good at, gotta support it.
I already have quite a deep voice, that would turn out hilarious. x'D I talk in a higher pitch when I'm in a good mood though. I sound kinda awesome when I'm hoarse. Which is unfortunate, because screaming until my voice breaks is not really one of my frequent hobbies.
Leave the llama alone! I don't even know what it looks like to me.

Ailda In reply to Colourcloud [2014-06-16 20:33:31 +0000 UTC]
Yes, combine them! It will turn super rad I do that all the time! Like, i have a story that works on the theory of pararel worlds, and it vary from a mirror image of our world or a super inverted strange world, so each time i make a new OC or have a strange idea, i just shove it to that story. Classy. btw, remember the drawings i sent you? there's a feline dude in the middle, he makes part that story
Although I'm great at English, I support the Portuguese dub, when's well done. Like, in videogames and films it's usually good, so i watch that version
Damn, i'm curious about your hoarse voice.
I'm with the llama vibe now.

Yeah I always mash stuff together, sometimes subconciously. It's really fun.
I wrote something with parallel words too, thought it's been quite a while. It was the second project I worked on, approximately 5 years ago? It was a mess basically.
Hell yeah you got hooked. On the llama train.

It's quite messy too but it's a good kind of messy. Like, i still know where to turn xD
Now that i think about it, the first story i created was like, 5 years ago. With an amazing name: That Story With a Title ( Nothing I called it would sound good, so it got that provisory name and it just...stuck? I have a few old drawings in that folder.) but i can't even understand what the plot is now xDD I really don't. I'm trying to rewrite it, since i had some good ideas, but sometimes i'm like "...where the hell did i want to go with this?" and LOTS of time "...this doesn't even make sense..." ;

I had stories that were literally called "A story". So yeah. My titles have always been amazing. The story I wrote for NaNoWriMo last year was called "A damned story filled with unbelievable coincidences". xD
Sometimes I find old notes I took for stories and I just read them and I'm always very confused. Like, sometimes I remember were this was going and suddenly it's all back in my head like I never abandoned at. But some just don't make any sense at all.

That's a great title! Well, when i'm feeling creative, i just put the first thing that comes to my mind, meaning, it has NOTHING to do with the story. Like, i once called a little text "Penguin". It had nothing to do with penguins xDD
