I think it's always a good idea to become familiar with the artists who illustrate the stories you really dig. If nothing else, it can prod you in the direction of some cool books you wouldn't have picked up otherwise.

Of course, there are some folks who simply enjoy the writing behind a good comic book. Would thyat be you, perchance?

I have some ideas planned. I'm not going to froward them into the next step until we get confirmation though. And none of them will be as long as the first one, which is sort of like a two hour pilot episode for a show that will normally run an hour.

Basically, I have plans, but I'm not going to get to carried away until we know we won't get in trouble.

I'm a so-so fan of Batman. There are some Batman things I really love, like "The Brave and the Bold" cartoon, but there's a lot of Batman stuff I never pay attention to.

Not like Transformers where there is literally not a (US based) series I haven't followed.

And thats just one example of him blatantly breaking the fourth wall. The funniest thing is that most other characters ignore it because he is insane. Unless it's their first time meeting him and they didn't hear that part of his rep, then they are completely confused. If they verbalize it, Deadpool ends up trying to explain the fourth wall to them. Now that is funny. Unfortunately it was only for the recap page in Cable & Deadpool.

Thing about him is that he's trying to turn over a new leaf, but just can't seem too. He actually made a very poetic analogy of it that involved a cartoon squirrel and a coconut.

I've never been a fan of Marvel comics. But we had a chap come and stay with us a few years ago, who brought with him a shoe-box full of Marvel comics. I ended up investigating Cable and found it genuinely quite entertaining, intriguing stuff.

Sadly, it was just one issue, and not enough to really get the gist of what was going on withthe character. But it seemed like they had a character every bit as iconic as Wolverine on their hands there.

Cable and Deadpool had a 50 something issue series together. You'd probably like it if you can get the trades, or fork out the cash to marvel to read it online.

It'd be something of a first if I did.

About the only comics series I'd read from Marvel these days is probably The Punisher, and even then only maybe. And of course, as I said, Cable looked interesting. But I've never been struck by a need to pick it up since.

Mind you, I DID buy the Marvel-published Halo graphic novel, with art by Simon Bisley, Moebius and Tsutomu Nihei. Not a bad looking book, although it wasn't terribly satisfying on any other level.

I just... don't do Marvel!
