Indeed. The steampunkish world of Dishonored runs on whale oil and strangely enough the forbidden previously worshiped "god" lives in an ocean-like dimension called The Void where there is a dead whale and he himself is rumored to be a great whale himself.

It's an interesting mythology. I like whales, though for some reason I tend to forget they exist, so I've never learnt much about them. But they're awesome.
I like to imagine an evil version of Greenpeace that actively hunts down whalers and deforesters and stuff and tortures them. I realize it's dumb, but it makes me happy.

Whales ARE awesome. Even their evolution story is badass. They were once little chihuahua-like creatures who decided to go back to the sea and become the biggest freaking things on Earth. Therefore their coolness actually included millions of years of badassery to come true.

It wouldn't be stupid to say that the guys who created Dishonored created the cult of The Outsider based on the actual worship of whales in the real world. They actually craved runs and bone charms out of whale bones. One of the characters keeps craving these [link] She's actually the funniest insane fangirl ever.

Yakko was my favorite when I did eventually get around to watching Animaniacs. I wasn't fully introduced until College! and I was RAISED in the 90's!

I was raised in the 90s too (I think the Lion King was actually the first movie I ever watched), and I was a bit sheltered too. I gotta rewatch those Animaniacs one of these days, I barely remember anything. I remember them being siblings, but I have no idea where they lived anymore.
