Merry Christmas back! Just hangin' with the wife and son and daughter-in-law. We had brunch and opened a few gifts... nothing big at all. But that's what makes it appreciable - small group of people who care about each other. Wish you could've come down... certainly you're invited to come anytime you like. Well, today was pretty nasty! I think we got at least an inch of rain this morning and we had tornado watches and warnings through the afternoon... and then about 5:00 the sun came out and it just got sticky... some Christmas weather.

I would have taken that over what we have here any day! By the way I have been noticing that the price of the Canon 5d mk I has been going down in price on the used market. Normally one in a condition of 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 has been running about 850, 750 on the low end. Now they seem to be floating around the 625-675 mark Good news for me! By the way when I am able to visit, I would like to do a portrait of you if I may. Think of it this way: Imagine it was the first image anyone was going to see of you, how would you like to be perceived?

I'm considering picking up the Rebel 4ti for my wife... but it goes for almost as much as a used 5d. Does come with half decent glass... I'm not sure though.

If she does not need video, might I recommend a used Canon 5d and a 50mm f/1.8 lens
or a used Canon 40d if wanting a crop sensor. The 40d is inexpensive as well as being weather sealed and built like a tank. You know what would be funny, do a video where someone pretends to be a weatherman and is doing a live report, and you walk through their shot, then turn around and stare at them, then ask them "Are you the fuckin' weatherman?" hahahahaha Also you can check out adorama.com and b&h both out of nyc, they have a fantastic used department

Ahhhhh well not sure what to suggest on that, I've heard a lot of good things about the 5d mk II and III as far as video goes but that is extremely pricey. Even used.

Probably - and she's not as experienced as all that... I've used the MkIII and it's pretty nice. She'd do well with the 4ti.

I have finished it for the most part, I just need to put a faster cpu in it. I put a 3.4ghz dual core just to get it up and running, and I need to order a quad core. Beyond that I just need to buy some lights for the inside as well as send off the side panel to have the custom window put in it. However the more important things are fixing my Rover. I need 4 o2 sensors (they have been bad for 2 years, I need to replace the power steering pump and steering gear box (both have been broken for a year now) and before the end of winter I need four new tyres as well as a new spare and a wheel to put the spare on. Yep, fun times hahahahaha
