You can be as dedicated to folio as I am, just got to have a positive outlook, not second-guess yourself, and have to sacrifice homework a little bit in order to do that. You never know the mark may actually surprise you and in teh end you wil,l get in because I saw your work it is pretty good. Yeah I did finish up my last piece, I just have to create labels and table of contents and I am done.

You're right about keeping a positive outlook. When I read this it pushed me to finish both portfolios (I registered for Illus. too). Jeeze,they really kicked my ass this week. My Illus. Personal Artwork was mostly stuff from Fundies and my Animation portfolio though... ahah.

How's your 3rd VCA year? What is the Professional Practice like? Are you considering their transfer opportunities?

I should post up new work on da you are right, probably do that today but I have a couple of things to do first.

That's awesome, glad I motivated you to do both portfolios, I saw your recent stuff and there is no doubt in my mind that you will get into Illustration, Animation, or both.

3rd year kind of sucks because the learning environment is constantly negative and I cannot work with that much negativity. The teachers are something else as well, they do not explain further in detail about assignments and such but the two classes that are good are sculpture and professional practice. We are learning a lot in those courses which is good because it makes the course a bit better. Professional Practice we learn about copyright laws, how to make a press release, how to make an artist statement, how to make an artist's bio, and we just learn about the business of the arts. What do you mean about transfer opportunities. Please holler back.

ARGH, sorry I took so long to get back, I'm so terrible at keeping up lol. About the transfer opportunities: on the Sheridan site is says VCA students have transfer opportunities to OCAD or Brock, and some other places, it sounded pretty interesting.

I thought Professional Practice in VCA was like a work term, like the one they have for Animation and Illustration! But it still sounds awesome. I'm sorry your 3rd year was bad That's kinda how it was for parts of my Art Fundies (remember that painting teacher you told me to watch out for? He was so damn rude near the final days of class, ahahah)

How did you do with your 'folio results! I haven't heard anything from animation yet, but I got shoved on the waiting list for illustration. I don't know how to find out my place on the list

Not much, just came back from a New Years dinner. Christmas was alright, it was way too quiet for me, I wished I went out but portfolio was holding me back as usual. But on Boxing Day I got a X-Box 360 an played Splinter Cell on it for only a day before my mom's boyfriend took it over to his place because he does not want me to get distracted by the system while doing portfolio. So I won't get the system until school is finished which is a good thing because I will probably play almost everyday. Portfolio is my first priority. New Years was alright but we are having a big party tommorow instead which is cool because there will be a lot of food. But other than that Portfolio, Portfolio, Portfolio. What about you did you enjoy your holidays?

Uhm, kinda. They were rather boring but okay to deal with. I've actually been feeling quite down so it's been hard to deal with, but I'll get over it. Sadly, I couldn't see any family that I wanted to see since I have my neice and nephew. They take up the car space. I mostly baby sitted and saw a movie with my bro. Tron. It was freaking good, just missing a lil something. Not sure what though. Probably needs more Tron. Though I think there is going to be a sequal. Tomorrow my best frind is comming over. I haven't seen her since summer. It's been so hard to get together since college so I'm glad I get to see her before summer comes around again. lol. Other than that, I've just been relaxing playing videogames and sleeping. I haven't really felt like drawing at all. Probably cause of all the crap with last semester. And oops, I wrote a freaking essay. xD Sorry. lol.

Yeah I do need to enjoy myself more but portfolio always restricts me from having fun for myself but I will have a lot more fun during the summer break, I had a little bit of time to read some graphic novels, catch up on some comics, still need to go to the comic shop to buy some issues probably on this thursday because it is nearby. I wished but it is a good thing he took it until portfolio is done because I remember when I had my original x-box, I played almost everyday so I do not want to do that considering we will have a lot of work to do this semester and I have portfolio on the side which makes it more work. I did play the game, Splinter Cell: Conviction for 2 days though. I feel like playing because it is such a good game and I have not played console games for 3 years so it made me realize how much I missed playing videogames but I know I would not get anything done, so I will have to wait but I will be counting down the days un til I receive the x-box. Thank you I really appreciate it, It means a lot.

Yeah I know you can overcome it, just keep thinking positively and you will be just fine.That sucks, and Christmas is a time to visit family, I know how that is, it has been a quiet christmas for us for like 2 or 3 years so yeah it has been quite boring and not fun filled but that is cool you saw Tron, I still need to see it but I will probably wait until DVD because I am cheap like that. That is like with a lot of movies nowadays a lot of things are missing in movies and you do not know what the hell that is but maybe just maybe they need more Tron lol.That is cool, I have not seen anybody from Sheridan or anyone iof my friends other than two people who are in their first year at Sheridan taking Media Fundamentals and Visual and Creative Arts first year so we just talked at the party I had today about art comics movies and other stuff as well but oh yeah the party was good it passed the time when I was talking to him so it was not so bad. That is understandable that you do not want to draw, I feel the same way sometimes but I just have to forget that notion in my head because I need to work on portfolio and that is very important for me to finish. Yeah not really looking forward to second semester. That is alright, I wrote a friggin essay to, oh well.

How is your Printmaking peices comming along? It's harder than it looks. I think I carved too far down, I even have some holes in my wood. ID; Took me over 2 hours to do the top part of one and it isn'rt even complicated. Ugh. I feel I may need an extension sadly.
I'm having some trouble with part of my head for 3D (you know, the cardboard proj). Do you think you could help me out at lunch monday since it's a 2 1/2 hour wait? I'd appreciate it. :3

Not much, I am almost done my first one but had problems with it since I have many details in mine and when I carved a tiny detail beside another detail it would just break off. It is harder than I thought as well but I am getting through it. I think I might need an extension as well, teh first one took me a whole day to work on and I am still not finished. Today I have to finish both of the prints today and possibly a little bit tomorrow.

Yeah I can help you out but I might want to work on my printmakinga little bit longer after class is finished, maybe like 30 minutes longer. Is that alright with you. Please holler back. Peace out.

Yeah I need help with it also by the way there is suppose to be a 10 pixel gap in between each square so instead of 200 it will be 210 just to let you know. A lot of people told me but I find our teacher should at least put it in his site. Oh well just thought you should know.

just wherever you see 200, change to 210 and wherever you see 400, change to 420 and you should be alright. It is pretty easy. Alright. I will check it out so page 2 worked fine I am guessing and no errors either.

Oh I want to be an Comic book artist(main priority) but I also want to do some illustraton relevant jobs as well, like concept art for films and video games, shoe design, t-shirt design, album covers, etc, as well as sculpture, so I kinda want to do various things in the near future.
