I want to see one change to your logo, to make it more continuous.
I'd like to see alternate lobes (e.g. the left and right lobes) expanded by sqrt(2).
Then, the lobes will be out-of-phase.
The expansion will then have a smoother overall effect.
(Or even expand the lobes different amounts for a spiral effect!)
With five lobes instead of four, they could be staggered the way one tightens lug-nuts.

I agree, with both the wise llamas ideas and you scratching your head. I mean wtf? Random little bit of advice there, might make it more interesting though, give it a go.
I only discovered your stuff because of that awesome icon. It's almost seamless but not quite, If you could somehow smooth the transition I'd be able to sleep easy tonight. These are the things that worry me in the world today... not fully perfected loops in animations.
