I've always doodled in my school books and found it's something that relaxes me I guess.
Almost a personal challenge to see how I can keep improving.

I agree with the 'getting ideas out of head' completely forgot about that many a book/game idea of mine has started life as a doodle.
School was a bit of a hit and miss really, I remember very little I learnt there, but it did teach me what I enjoy I guess (biology, computers, etc).
Drawing was always something I can do to pass the time in the boring classes and lectures, as I felt it is adding more value to my life than the lesson.

For me it was a helpful tool to get the ideas out of my head And a boredom buster. And a challenge to improve like you say And a way to give joy to the people I'm close to (birthday cards etc).
Met me just return to the boredom statement - man did I need that to get through the mind numbing 'school' system -___- It was a great escape too once I got home - like video games or TV.
What are your sentiments towards school if you don't mind sharing? c:
