Thanks... I should really get something animated that isn't funny or happens to be a game... I've got all summer, hey

Get a trial version of flash off their website, google a BASIC tutorial (All the advanced crap is going to mess you up) experiment with making very basic animations, try doing frame-by-frame first, and just have fun with it for a bit. Get fammiliar with a few of tools, and don't plan anything too big to start with. Hell, just draw a character and make him blink! That's good enough to start with
