Aha, I didn't really have plans. I slept until 3pm and mom suggested chinese food, so we got that, and I think my sister brought the cake. It was mostly just unplanned dinner with family + the australian. xD Josh, sister's friend come to visit. :U Spent all of the time not with family being a hermit around the internet/messengers. e.e;

Sorry I don't have art for you. ;3; I do plan to make this up to you and everyone else I've been wanting to gift art next year. I'm buckling my ass down some more on this to do list. I'm gonna do it! It's going to be finished! And then I can have more artistic freedom again, and I can't wait to be able to art all over those I care about. But yeah, sorry I rambled. 
I hope you have an amazing birthday in any case~ May all your days be blessed now and forever more. And thanks for being such a good friend to me. It has meant a lot and possibly more than you realize.

I also spend an unhealthy amount of time looking at other artists' work and trying to dissect the style. It's probably due to an advanced high school art class I took senior year where we had to write papers on our styles and critique our partner's styles and even the styles of people who have influenced us!
Thank you for the wishes! I recently got back into the swing of doing art regularly about two months ago? I mean, I was doing art in between my graduation and now, but they were only small doodles and sketches. Somehow I've improved by doing absolutely nothing. How do I even.
AND YES FABER CASTELL PENCILS ARE AMAZING. I use the watercolor versions, however, since I like mixing them with marker. Let me tell you, the equation for nice blending is brush tipped marker + watercolor pencil.
The art in that picture is really old though. XD From the beginning of senior year!

I try not to do that because I can be a bit overly critical of things--ah, the toes I've stepped on without even meaning to... OTL I'm kinda jelly, though. Style analysis and proper critique would have been nice in high school.
Aha~ That's cool. I think sometimes we need a moment to recharge. We burn out because we do so much that we're overwhelmed and need time to really grasp it, and come back better able to present what we've discovered.
LOL. YES. I have all kinds of trouble with wet media, but your methods really do sound effective. 8D

I submitted the 3 different drawings, but I wasn't sure if they fit the "cuddles" idea. Also I'd appreciate it if you informed me of which of the 3 is seems best, so maybe I just submit that one instead of all 3 unless they're all fine. Thanks.

They're all appropriate to the theme. I'm going to cut you off at three, though, so if you come up with something more you'd like to enter, you'll have to choose which to omit before the contest closes. My opinion won't necessarily reflect the majority, so don't count it for much, but I like Garcia and Gilliam the most. I love the atmosphere in it the most.
