Hi Darrell, been a while your 28, man your gettin old. haah anyways I have a question now for you. You know how I am, I ask everyones opinion on something and dont matter what they say ill get it anyway kinda thing
. I am going to get (maybe not right away) the new Canon 5D Mark II. What are your thoughts? Have you done any research on that camera yet? also I have a new website up now for photography its [link]
Check it out. I still kept tdesign after that personal flash website that we done in school haha.

right on, i actually turned 29 yesterday. 5d mark 2 is a great camera, keep in mind you will lose all the crop factors on your lenses, but your quality will be absolutely amazing. I am looking at getting a better camera, but a full frame body is way out of my reach at the moment. I will check out your site later,
cheers,
Darrell

I do understand about the field of view crop. Here is my reasoning on that. Correct me if im wrong because I always want to learn about cameras. Take my camera the xti, and the regular 5d. My camera has a 1.6x fov crop and the 5d has no crop. say for example they both had 12mp, and are the same spec. Because the sensor is that much bigger wouldnt i be able to crop it myself in photoshop and get the same if not better image quality? But still get the advantage of no crop? Which would cancel pretty much out the fov crop?

the crop is not necessarily a benefit, just letting you know it exists. The full frame sensor is much bigger, hence less noise and more detailed images. if you have a lens that is 18-55 for instance, on a 5d it would be a real 18-55, on your xti it's really a 28-88 lens.

I know, i got no problems with that, so my way of thinking and my research and my views are correct. There is no benefit.[link]
here is a photo of how much you actually lose... its friggin mental. the difference between the two. Just imagine a 21mp full frame sensor.... With the capabilities for hd video(not going to be used) I would get a video camera for that hahah.

Yeah, you lose on the wide angle but gain in the telephoto, nature of the beast really. 5D M2 is obviously going to be an amazing camera, but it won't touch what Nikon is releasing now adays, what they are doing is just crazy. HAve you seen the d3x? insane. All in all though, mp only does so much, i could easily print a rather large photo off my 6mp d40.

Well that is probably true, but the 5D Mark II is not really competing with the D3X. At best it would beat out the 1Ds Mark III. There about the same price range and there both flag ship cameras. I thought about getting the 1Ds M3, but its double the price for what? Im not going to be shooting 10 fps haha, I will on the other hand get a battery grip for it (which I have coming for my xti now from new york , you know what they say, size matters
haha, Im looking for a car now, a station wagon, thinking a ford focus 2001 or later, just because I will have lighting equipment and backdrops down the road, so I will want to easily pack them and have room for anything else i want really.
