ZombiesAteMyHomework In reply to ??? [2011-11-16 22:50:48 +0000 UTC]

I need to get some more tea actually. There's this tea shop near my house which is amazing. They also happen to have amazing quiche.

I'm not sure how the people at the Doctor Who shop will be too psyched about me sleeping over, but I can sneak in. It would be worth it! But yeah, there's also this place called Forbidden Planet, which is apparently just a general geek store. So I'll go to that eventually I'm sure.

Gah! I'm so mad, Mindless isn't coming anywhere near me! The closest they're coming is Texas, I think. It's insane. Ludo did the same thing on their last tour. Do people have a vendetta against Florida? I suspect it's all a conspiracy. Anyway, yeah. One day I shall see Green Day, and it shall be awesome.

Muse were AMAZING. I love them so much as it is, and they're absolutely brilliant live. I saw them with U2, and they weren't as big a band, they were just the opener...their act was really short. But, with the new album coming, they should be going back on tour within the next year or so! I'm really excited!

I've been to New York around Christmas, it's spectacular. I'd love to go back. I'll be in DC after Christmas, but it'll still be pretty cold (especially by my standards).

My pics aren't on dA yet. I thought about posting some from Halloween night, but I'm gonna take some actual photos of just me wearing the costume I think. But soon!

Wow, sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I was in Disneyland for a while and came back to find my college campus was pretty much blowing up with protests everywhere. We made the news, sadly. It's been a busy couple of days.

Lol tea is amazing, but I'm not so much a fan of quiche. :/ I dunno if I've just never had any that's really good or what, but I've never been impressed.

Forbidden Planet!! Yes, me gusta that place! I only got to look in the windows, but I've had friends who went and said it was awesome.

Ugh, sorry about that... I guess either extreme coast gets left out. There's this one band my friend likes that's gone on two tours in the past year and hasn't even been on the West Coast at all. It kinda sucks. I support your conspiracy theory lol

Ohhh, that would have been so cool to see! I hope you get to see them again!

I think I saw a pic someone else posted that looked like you, but I wasn't sure. I'll look forward to legit photos from you anyway!

It's cool. I've been pretty busy recently too...I'm doing NaNoWriMo, and it eats time like crazy. It's Thanksgiving break now, though, so hooray for time to be really lazy! Protests, though. That's pretty exciting.

Really? Ah well. Some quiches are...strange, but I've had some good ones. I dunno. I enjoy them.

Ahh I wanna go so bad! One day. Yeah, Forbidden Planet would be on my list, towards the top. I've actually got a friend who lives in Scotland, so I'd meet her finally, too!

It's quite sad. I might have to move somewhere like New York solely so I can get concerts. I really wanna see MSI, though. They'd be brilliant.

If they come anywhere near me, I will definitely be seeing Muse again! I'd drive to Georgia for that.

Well, I've only worn the costume to one con so far, so unless it was from ShadoCon, it wasn't me. But I posted a picture! It's up!

Oh, wow, I've never been able to do NaNo. My writing is normally more...oneshots lol. What'd you write?

Yeah, the protests are getting pretty intense. A couple of my friends are doing the Occupy thing on campus over break, and it's still weird to see my campus all over the news. But, you know, I guess it's important issues, so I'll support the cause - just quietly without getting arrested.

Lol to each their own. I know my friends think they're awesome, but...eh. I'm more addicted to Mexican food and stuff that's horrible for me, so the quiche is probably a better choice lol.

That's so cool. I've never got to meet any of my friends abroad cause I don't travel enough. But I hope you get to!

I might make it to MSI. Maybe. If I can get together some money. I'm trying to find a way to sell some of the craft-y stuff I've made to get some income. Cause concert-going must be funded and all.

I think it was from ShadoCon, actually... But I saw the ones you put up! Haven't had a chance to comment on them yet, but it looks awesome!

I actually finished my novel tonight! Well, at least, I got to 50,000...the story's not over yet. It's...hard to explain. Science-fiction, and it's got these weird, trippy dream sequences and...I don't even know, I just kind of think of a general outline at the beginning of the month and go with it.

Yeah...I guess if I was anywhere near the action, I might do something. When I go do DC, I'm hoping there'll be something interesting going on with the Occupy movement. But, yeah, getting arrested is definitely bad.

Hey, Mexican food is awesome too! Really I'll eat just about anything as long as it's not spicy.

I really want to do, like, a tour of Europe after I graduate high school, but it's probably not gonna happen, because I'm broke. Still, I like to think it's a possibility...and England would definitely be on that list.

That's so awesome! If you get to go see them, tell me how it is! I really want to see them, one day. They'd be pretty brilliant, I think.

Really?! That's exciting! I'm internet famous! It's kind of surprising, actually, because not many people took my picture there...

InsertNamesHere In reply to ZombiesAteMyHomework [2011-12-02 08:34:54 +0000 UTC]

Wow, yeah, I don't think I've ever written that much on one topic in my life lol. I really admire you people who can do that. It seems like it'd be a difficult thing to do, but worth it if you can make it.

I've been to a couple rallies, mostly to keep informed, because the big issue here is over tuition hikes. Do you ever go on memebase? I saw that they made a meme of the cop who was pepper spraying people on my campus and it was just...surreal that the internet was running away with what's happening close to me.

Lol Mexican food is like my staple because it's easy to make. I'm unabashedly not fond of cooking, so it's what I can do without much mess. I'm not a big fan of spicy food either. Which is another reason why I love England lol. No overly spicy things there. \o/

That would be so cool. Lol I have lofty dreams of reaching all of Europe myself, actually. Especially Spain, Portugal, and the parts of Britain I didn't get to see. Hopefully we'll both get to go eventually.

Haha, I doubt I'll make it. I don't really have the money, sadly. But I'm sure I'll get my ears talked off about it when my friend goes lol.

Lol internet famous is always fun. And yeah, it was just one picture, but I guess that's all it takes. I wish I still had the link, but it's lost somewhere in the depths of my browsing history....

ZombiesAteMyHomework In reply to InsertNamesHere [2011-12-06 05:04:18 +0000 UTC]

I made it! I was pretty psyched. It was kinda tight; I had to write about 2,000 words the last day, but I did it! This is the second year I've done it, and I really have no idea how I manage it. It's pretty insane. What I do is get kind of a basic outline at the beginning of the month, but then work out the details as I go along. There are plot holes, but I'll work that out later.

I HAVE seen that meme, actually! That's crazy! The whole thing is pretty crazy, actually. It's pretty surreal, all the stories you hear. I mean, I'm nowhere near anything, but it's pretty insane.

Yeah, pretty much the only thing I know how to make are ramen noodles. I'm actually pretty adept at the microwave, and I'm alright with a toaster, too. But ovens and stoves are not good things. Explosions would happen. And yay! Another reason to love England! There's actually an English restaurant near my house...it's AWESOME.

I'd love to go...pretty much everywhere in Europe, actually. I've been to Amsterdam, but I was in second grade, so I don't remember much. :\ I'd love to go back there. I really just love Europe, or the idea of Europe, anyway...all the old castles and such. And I'd have to stop by Loch Ness, obviously.

Aw, that's sad! Well, who knows, maybe they'll go on tour again soon...

That's okay. I did a little preliminary searching, and I couldn't find a picture. :\ That's okay, though, it's exciting to know that I was seen!

Awesome! Yeah, I had enough issues writing what I needed to for my finals and everything. That's really cool that you can do that though. Do you try for something you could publish one day, or just for writing practice?

Lol yeah, it was weird to see. I think it's starting to clear up here because it's the holidays and people want to go home to their families. We've still got some people holding out though. Not really sure what they're hoping to achieve at this point...

Microwaves are the best thing in the world. I fully believe this. Haha, part of the reason I chose my college was because it had so many British-isms. We've even got roundabouts lol. Always cool to have slightly foreign stuff nearby.

Ugh, Europe seems like the whole of it would be excellent. My friend went to Amsterdam when she was young too lol. I imagine you guys retained similar amounts of knowledge from it.

Ohhh, Loch Ness would be so cool! I'm definitely into the slightly mythical stuff, and all the haunted castles and fey and things are really interesting.

Hmm, wish I could find it for you, but thought you'd just like to know anyway.

Firstly, sorry for the delay in replying...I had midterms this week.

Anyway. I'd really like to get it published, one day. It needs some serious editing first though. Literally the entire thing is just one big plot hole. But, hey, maybe someday...

I dunno, part of it might just be protesting for the sake of protesting. Making a statement. I don't know...

Microwaves are a sign from the deity of choice that there is hope for humanity. I don't know what I would do without microwaves. Wither away and die, I imagine...

I vaguely remember Amsterdam...I remember going to a wax museum, which I thought was awesome (my childhood was a strange one). But, yeah, I love the idea of Europe in general.

When I go to the UK (because it WILL happen one day) I'll definitely go to Loch Ness. I'm really into mythology and conspiracies, so of course that's a brilliant place for me to go insane. Also, yeah, haunted castles are fun!

InsertNamesHere In reply to ZombiesAteMyHomework [2011-12-18 21:28:13 +0000 UTC]

Haha, no problem! Clearly it's taken me a while to reply too.

That would be awesome. I hope you get to work through it eventually. I have a couple writer friends and I know plots can be very...holey lol. Best of luck! When, you know, midterms and finals cease to be and we all have a little more time on our hands lol.

Yeah. I like to try to keep up on whatever political mayhem is going down locally, but...it's been going on so long without real info that I kinda stopped caring much, you know? :/

Lol the irony - not irony, coincidentalness? - here is that I literally just got back from microwaving my lunch. I've been actually making good food choices for the past few days, but I feel the seductive call of microwave food...

Oh, that's cool. It's awesome that you can at least remember some of it lol. No shame in wax museums! I've never actually been in one, so I can't say whether I think they're cool or not though lol.

Do you have any haunted/legend-y type stuff near you? I live near the Winchester Mystery House and got lost in there for about half an hour trying to avoid old lady ghosts, but I dunno much about Florida ghost stories, etc. I'm afraid the best I've got is, what was his name, Ponce de Leon? looking for the fountain of youth lol.

ZombiesAteMyHomework In reply to InsertNamesHere [2011-12-24 17:50:18 +0000 UTC]

Well, first of all, Merry Christmas Eve! Hope your various holidays were/are awesome.

I'm going to finish it one day. I probably need to just start it over, actually...it's pretty bad. It'll happen one day...

Yeah, I get that. I've kind of lost track of the protests, but I think they're still going on, at least as far as I know. In New York, at least, I think.

Healthy choices. Hm. I should probably make some of those pretty soon. But it's Christmas, therefore I am not obligated to stop microwaving yummy things for at least two days. I guess when I move out I might actually learn how to cook...at least operate a stove. But I'll deal with that later.

Wax museums are brilliant! Lots of people get freaked out by them, but I think they're cool. I went to one last summer when I went to LA, too, that was fun. If you ever get the chance to go, do that!

Yeah, we do have Ponce de Leon. A couple years ago my class took a trip to St. Augustine, which is this really old war sight, and we went on a ghost tour. It was fun. I'm actually not that familiar with Florida ghosts either, which is probably bad since I live here. I think there's a ghost tour in my city, actually, but I've never been on it...

Late Merry Christmas! I can't believe you find time to get online during the holidays lol, mine have been crazy. Hope you had a great Christmas too!

Haha, good luck! It's a big goal, so you know, one day sounds like a reasonable time scale.

Healthy choices are for squares. Especially during the holidays. And I promise you, knowing how to cook does not make it any more appealing lol. I avoid my stove at all costs. Mostly because clean up is annoying and I am, if nothing else, a bit lazy with cleaning.

I'll have to go into one some time. Lol I'm close enough to San Francisco and there's wax museums all over there, but I've still never actually managed to do a tour or whatever. I think I'm a little nervous because my imagination keeps thinking the figures will come to life or something. Cause I'm kind of a fraidy cat.

I bet that would be cool lol. My hometown is tiny, so we don't have any real good history. :/ The only ghost tours I've done were in Alcatraz and around London. Which were both cool, but not my hometown, so it's different, you know?

ZombiesAteMyHomework In reply to InsertNamesHere [2011-12-31 22:48:32 +0000 UTC]

Late Merry Christmas to you too! And Happy New Year's Eve! My holidays are usually pretty low-key, actually. This year I just stayed in and played video games with my dad. We go to Memphis, though, but after Christmas.

Thanks! It's gonna happen, though. Maybe not the getting published part, but at least the editing part...

Ha. Cleaning. If my room is anything to go by, my future kitchen is going to be pretty trashed. I guess I might get around to actually learning to cook when I go to college, but for now, I'm happy with my microwave. And the occasional toaster use.

Wax museums are a little freaky to some people, yeah. I think they're awesome, though. I've never seen any movies or anything about them, though, so that might have something to do with it. Just make sure you don't get locked in one at night, and you should be good.

A ghost tour in London would be awesome! I'll make a note of doing that when I go. I've never actually done the one in my city, strangely enough...

Hey! Sorry it took me so long to reply...I've been doing a lot of getting back to school stuff so it's been kinda crazy. Happy (late New Year! Hope this year has start off well for you!

Kitchens are disaster zones - it's a fact of life lol. We're starting in on construction right next to our kitchen soon, so it's gonna be even worse. We decided the living room is going to become my new room, and we're gonna try to build a new wall over one weekend. It should be...interesting lol.

*shudder* Yeah, no. Not so much with the museums at night. Especially not wax museums. I just saw the commercial for House of Wax and kind of went "Noooo" so I'll have to drag someone brave with me when I eventually make it to one in case I lose my nerve.

You definitely should! On a slightly related note, do you watch any of those ghost hunter-y shows? Or Supernatural? Just wondering.

ZombiesAteMyHomework In reply to InsertNamesHere [2012-01-18 00:50:37 +0000 UTC]

Sorry about the late reply. I've been hugely busy lately. I was in DC for a week with basically no internet, then I started back to school, moved and I'm in a play. But. Replying now. That's what matters.

I once lit my hair on fire baking cookies. In the oven. I really have absolutely no idea how I managed to do that, but I did. So yeah, no more kitchen for me. Microwaves are sufficient. Microwavable food and salad...I think I can live on that for the rest of my life.

I've never seen House of Wax. I dunno, I find wax museums cool, but I know a lot of people really don't like them, which I understand. Even I think a wax museum at night would be really creepy. In the day, though, I think they're awesome!

I've seen a few episodes of Supernatural...it's alright. I've never seen Ghost Hunters or anything like that. I really like the supernatural and such, though...and science fiction. I mean, Neil Gaiman is my favorite author. Doctor Who, Firefly, Buffy. I love all that stuff.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

InsertNamesHere In reply to ZombiesAteMyHomework [2012-01-21 01:01:24 +0000 UTC]

Haha, no worries! How was DC?? I've been moving around too, so don't worry about late replies lol. What play are you doing?

Wow...that's talent. I don't think I've ever lit myself on fire lol. Other stuff, yeah, but never myself.

My roommate is pretty much in love with Supernatural, but that's probably because the one main character is evidently her dream man... Those ghost shows are kinda hit or miss, I think. I've seen a couple cool episodes, but most of the time I wind up shouting at the TV about how dumb the 'investigators' are lol.

I'm finishing up Buffy right now (on demand from my brother), but I've seen Firefly a million times and obviously Doctor Who lol. My mom actually got me a season for Christmas. It was one of my favorite gifts

I haven't read Gaiman yet, but I've heard he's awesome. I keep trying to borrow my friends books of his, but we seem to keep missing each other. :/ Any specific recommendations?

ZombiesAteMyHomework In reply to InsertNamesHere [2012-01-30 03:24:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've obviously been pretty busy. Things should be cooling down now though.

DC was awesome! I went with a group from my school, and some of my friends went. We did all the cliche tourist-y stuff...all the monuments, and the memorials, and the Capitol. It was a lot of fun. The National Gallery of Art...seriously, I think I could just live there forever.

We did All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten. It's basically a bunch of short scenes, no real plot, about life lessons and such. It was a lot of fun...last night was our last performance. In a few months we're doing Guys and Dolls, though...oh God.

Supernatural was alright. A bunch of people on my Tumblr are obsessed with it, but I didn't think it was THAT great. I might watch a few more episodes one day, but it's not at the top of my list.

Buffy is pretty brilliant. I actually need to do a re-watch one of these days. I actually just showed one of my friends Firefly recently, but I have yet to show her Serenity...I really want to see her reaction. Doctor Who is, I believe, my favorite show. I've been watching it for a long time, and I'm still pretty obsessed with it. I actually made a TARDIS dress for Dragon*Con last year.

I really love basically all of Gaiman's stuff, but I think my favorite is probably the Sandman. It's graphic novels, and the series is pretty long, but worth it. American Gods is also brilliant, and so is Coraline, even though it's more of a kids' book (there's a graphic novel of that, too, which is actually the first Gaiman book that I read).

First off: Oh my goodness, I suck. My birthday happened, and everything has been super hectic - I've barely been able to get online. Finally sitting down to reply to stuff.

Ohhh, the National Gallery~ That place is so awesome! It's cool that you got to go with friends too. Figure it's always more fun to be insane tourists with friends lol. Was it all cold or no? I know they have somewhat freaky weather in the DC area at times.

Awesome! I've done a similar thing, with a bunch of scenes from a high school, but with no actual connection between them. Guys and Dolls oughta be fun lol. I've never seen it done live, but my best friend loves the movie, so I know at least that version. You'll have to let me know how it goes. I've heard it's a pretty great/difficult show to do.

Haha, yeah. I think it's like any other show, where some episodes are great, some not so much.

I still haven't managed to get through all of Buffy (I'm missing season five and half of season seven), but I really need to. Ugh, Serenity. Such a good movie, but so many sad parts!. And of course, Doctor Who, excellence. I hear they're going to start filming the next season in a week or so. I'm excited! TARDIS dress sounds fantastic! I've seen a couple, but never in person lol. Closest I can manage to make is earrings, which I'll have to post pictures of one day...

Yeah? I was in the comic store recently and looking, almost bought Sandman #1. I might have to now lol. Is Coraline the one they made a movie of? I haven't seen it, but if that's the one, I didn't know it was a book first. New list of things to look at one my next trip to downtown lol.

It's fine! I'm pretty much always busy, it's good. Happy birthday, though!

The National Gallery was so beautiful. We didn't get much time there, though, which was really sad. I didn't get to see all of the modern art wing, which is my favorite. The weather was pretty freaky, yeah. One day it got down to 18 degrees, but then the next it would be in the fifties. It was chilly, though, at least, which was nice. I like cold weather.

The play you did, was it Life After High School? They did that at my school a few years ago. Kindergarten was a lot of fun though, the cast was brilliant. I actually haven't even watched the movie yet. I really need to, seeing as auditions are tomorrow. I know what I'm singing, which is nice, but I always freak out about singing. It should be fun, though...

Ooh, you need to finish it! Five and seven are my least favorite season though, so at least from my point of view, you're not missing much. Still, though. The whole show was brilliant. My friend actually just watched Serenity for the first time this weekend (I made her watch the entirety of Firefly on our 22-hour train ride to DC). Wash always makes me sad. Ooh, really? I can't wait for the new season! Yeah, my TARDIS dress wasn't much, but at the con I wore it to there were some absolutely brilliant ones.

Ooh yes, you should get it. I actually don't know it I've ever seen the first issue itself, I have the trade paperback. It's a really, really great series though, one of my favorites. Yeah, they made a movie of Coraline a few years back. I haven't seen it since it was in the theaters, so I don't really remember it, but you hear mixed reviews. If you get the book (not the graphic novel), it's illustrated by my favorite artist, so that's fun too. Both the book and the graphic novel are awesome, though.

Ugh, I decide I should respond faster and am immediately set upon by illness. This is the first day I've felt coherent enough to get back to you - so sorry!

Hm, I can never decide how I feel about modern art. Sometimes I think it's brilliant, but others I just don't really get. :/ Wow! 18 degrees, that's pretty cold. Good you like cold weather though I'm not a huge fan, but I do like the feeling of being inside on cold days.

No, it was... Actually, I can't remember the name, but it was something less interestingly titled than that lol. Having replied so late: how did auditions go? Have you got the results back yet? I hope they turn(ed) out well!

Haha, yeah, I've been told season 5 isn't very good, which is why I'm dragging my feet. I still have somewhat devious plans of trapping my friend into marathon-watching Firefly with me, cause she's only seen an episode or two. But Wash, man, you shall be missed!
I'm super excited for the next season! But I heard this is the last season with Amy, which is kinda sad. She's probably my favorite of the last few Doctor Who girls. I've been working on some stuff in honor of the next season starting up, so hopefully I'll be posting those on here soon.

Like I said, I've been pretty sick the past few days, so haven't really left the house much, but I have plans to go comic-and-music shopping soon, so Gaiman's on my list of things to buy. Thank goodness for birthday money lol.

It's cool! Obviously I'm really late with my reply too, and I have no legitimate excuse, so it's pretty awful.

Yeah, I really don't understand some modern art either. When we were at the National Gallery, there was a piece that was basically a canvas with oil paint globbed all over it, it was all mixed together and all I saw when I looked at it was a waste of paint (it must have been REALLY expensive too). Some of it's cool though; I love mixed media (that's what I do, primarily -- if that's even modern art at all...), and surrealism (although that's not really modern...), but some of it just goes way over my head.

I enjoy cold weather, yeah. It could just be because it's a change, since I live in Florida, where "cold" is about 60 degrees.

Yeah! I got in! I'm not a lead or anything, but I have a few lines, and I'm in a couple scenes. Also, I double as a stripper, which is an exciting new experience.

Yeah, season five is probably my least favorite Buffy season. Season six is angsty, but I liked it. You've got "Once More With Feeling" in that season, which as you probably know is absolutely brilliant. Haha, yeah, I had my friend over to watch Serenity recently. I think I got more into it than she did. I loved Wash! God, the first time I watched that movie I think I screamed.

Yeah, Amy's leaving, I think. I'm sad, but honestly, I think I'm ready for a change. I think I'm going to miss Rory more, I love him. Amy's pretty cool though. I think Donna is always going to be my favorite, though. Ooh! That's exciting! What are you making? Actually, thespian states is coming up next week, and my friend and I are planning on dressing as the Doctor and the TARDIS one day.

Ooh! Good! Yeah, I just went to a con a few weeks ago, so I got all stocked up on comics. Actually, I just started a series you might like...it's called "Runaways," you might have heard of it. Joss Whedon wrote a few issues, and I read his part (which is kind of a standalone), but I liked it so much that I decided to go back and start from the beginning. It's pretty good. But I would definitely suggest Sandman most. So do that first.

Finally found time between finals to reply...

Lol modern art's always kinda touch-and-go, I think. Some are really interesting and cool, others leave you head tipped sideways going "Huh?" I'm going to be taking a class on modern art in a few weeks, and I think half the time will consist of huh?

Haha, I couldn't imagine it staying that warm all the time. They say California's all sunny and warm, but they clearly forgot Northern Ca. So I can imagine a trip to somewhere colder would be nice if you never really get it at home lol.

Congratulations! Lead's not all it's cracked up to be, anyway. I hope you're having fun with your production! Lol stripper oughta be an interesting role...

I've seen Once More With Feeling WAY too many times. I literally just rewatched Serenity last night (first time one of my friends had seen it), and I think I forgot how epic it really is. River is such a bad ass. And...Wash. Ugh, my love for him is so vast.

Rory is such a cool dude. I mean, he just rolls with everything pretty well and stays true to himself and what he wants in life. Gotta admire that. I made TARDIS earrings and box, posted them on my account here. The earrings keep getting caught on stuff, but they're awesome, so I don't really care too much lol. I...do not think I could ever be ambitious enough to make a full-sized (human-sized?) TARDIS. Hope that turned out good for you guys!

I love Runaways! I can't afford to buy all the issues because there's a lot and my comic store doesn't have them all, but I read through the first anthology and fell in love. I haven't read the Joss Whedon bits yet, but I want to get 'em as soon as I have some money. Now, well, I guess I have to lol.

Ha, it's cool. I've actually been on a school trip for the past week, so I haven't gotten to this either.

Yeah, I get that. I mean, some modern art is pretty cool...I love surrealism (although I guess that's not particularly modern, is it?). But, yeah, some of it is just...wait, what?

Yeah, I honestly didn't really want a lead at all. I enjoy singing, but I'm pretty insecure about my voice, so being a lead in a musical is probably not the ideal choice for me. And, hey, being a stripper is definitely a new experience...

I love Once More With Feeling! It's so awesome. I actually heard that they might make a musical episode of Doctor Who, which would be pretty awesome. Haha, yeah, last time I watched Serenity I got really into the scene right before Wash's death, and all my friends who had never seen it were looking at me strangely. I love River, but I think Wash was in the running for my favorite character. Damn you, Joss!

Ooh, I don't think I've seen those. I'll go check them out. Dressing up for states was so much fun...every few feet someone would fangirl about us, so it was really cool. Also, I don't know if you've watched A Very Potter Sequel, but I have my own Scarf of Sexual Preference that I brought too, which was fun. And hey, if you didn't actually want to make a dress, you could always use an actual box!

Oh yeah, I'm just getting them from the library. You should actually probably not read the Joss one if you haven't read the others, because there are some plot points that I accidentally spoiled for myself by doing that. They're pretty brilliant though, I'm really loving them.

I just started a course in modern art history (new semester, oh yay!) and I'm already a bit confused lol. Thankfully, the first half of the class is in stuff like surrealism and impressionism, which is my favorite, so hopefully my brain won't explode.

Nah, leads are always the ones freaking out the most. Being a semi-background character is always cool regardless. Lol how goes the stripping? I can't say I've ever known someone who had to learn how to be one.

That. Would be amazing. They'd have to get it spot on though, otherwise I think it also has the potential to crash and burn. :/
River and Wash are equally fantastic. I marathon'd all of Firefly and rediscovered how awesome Zoe is as well. I of course got thoroughly mocked because my roommates were busy with Nathan Fillion, but I stand by Zoe and her badassery. Too many awesome characters! Why?!

Haha, that's excellent. I haven't seen all of the Sequel yet, but I know of the Scarf of Sexual Preference, and I approve strongly.

Too late - I managed to sneak read Joss Whedon's contribution to the Runaways last weekend at the store. Thankfully, I have read at least a third of the series, so there wasn't too much that was news to me lol. Glad you like them!

Oh! I'm not sure if you like either Adam Lambert or Mindless Self Indulgence, but I got to meet the former and go to a concert featuring the latter this past week. Both were fantastic (and alternately really adorable and really loud)! I just...it was so cool i have to at least blab that much.

UGH THIS IS SO LATE. I've been ridiculously busy lately, I'm sorry! It's show week (I just got back from opening night of my play), and also I'm rushing to meet the deadline for my art portfolio (five more pieces! ). But! Here is a reply!

The stripping goes pretty well. It's not actually stripping anymore, though, the principal of our school wasn't too psyched when he found out. We're still wearing pretty skimpy stuff though, and I've also got this ridiculous wig because they didn't want to curl my hair (I've never cut it, so it's rather long). It's fun, though, I'm having fun.

Zoey is a BAMF. It's not that Mal isn't, I mean, he has a swishy coat, but Zoey is pretty intense. I get way too emotional over Wash haha. Oh, speaking of Whedon, have you seen The Cabin in the Woods yet? I haven't had a chance, but I really want to. Everyone I know is freaking out about Chris Hemsworth being in it, but I'm fangirling about the fact that Whedon's really old horror movie is FINALLY coming out. Also, the Avengers is fast approaching! That's a midnight premiere I'm definitely not missing.

Ooh, get on that! AVPS is long, but it's worth it. I actually saw the premiere at Infinitus 2010...not the live show, but it was the first time anyone saw the video and all the StarKids were there, so it was cool. The show is pretty good, too. I don't know if you know this, but they actually just came out with a new show, which is about Batman, so if you're into that it's worth checking out.

Yay! I'm currently on the fourth book of Runaways. It's going pretty well so far.

Ugh, you saw Mindless? I'm jealous! They didn't come anywhere near me on their tour, which I am mad about. I really want to see them (and Ludo, who I'm also mad at for not coming ANYWHERE in Florida). I don't really listen to Adam Lambert, but that's cool! I know who he is, and he seems like a pretty cool person.

Don't worry about it. Seems like you've got a lot on your plate. I've seen some of the things posted from your portfolio, and they look awesome! So keep up the good work!

Lol yeah, I kinda figured the authorities might have issues there. However! Ridiculous wigs are always fun, so there's that. Out of curiosity, how long is your hair? My friend's been growing hers out lately, so I'm oddly fascinated.

I have not seen Cabin in the Woods yet, but I'm planning to see it tomorrow, if I can. I've heard good things about it, but haven't heard anyone going on about the actors particularly. (Honestly, have to look this Hemsworth person up...) Ugh, I want to go to the midnight showing for Avengers, but I can't get a ride, sadly. I'll have to see it as soon as I can after. :/

Haha, yeah, I'm marathon-ing a bunch of movies tomorrow, and the StarKid stuff is only my list. That's so awesome you got to see the premiere! I haven't seen most of their other stuff, but I'm a big fan of Batman, so I'll have to give it a look.

Excellent. I...honestly have no idea where that puts you in the story line, but glad you like it so far.

It was AWESOME. I went to a show in San Francisco, and Chantal was there as well. I was never a huge fan, but seeing them live was kickass, not gonna lie. Made me like them so much more. And I got to meet their guitarist afterward, so that was excellent. Hopefully you'll get to see them at some point! And yeah, the Adam Lambert thing was just a really cool experience. And hilarious how his guitarist seemed like the most antsy person in the world lol.

Yeah, haha. But, the play's over, and I only have two more pieces for my class, so I have free time! It's mind blowing! Anyway, thanks! I need to upload the rest of them...

Yeah, I do not miss that wig. I mean, usually I have no problem with wigs, for cosplays and such, but this one was annoying. Anyway, my hair goes...about halfway down my thighs? It's not all even, obviously, because it's natural, but that's about its longest point I think.

I still haven't seen it! I've been pretty busy lately, obviously. I'm actually considering going to see it today, but I'm sort of tired because my prom was last night, so I'll have to stay awake long enough. Chris Hemsworth seems pretty cool. I've only ever seen him in Thor, but he was pretty good in it. Aw, that sucks! I missed the midnight premiere of the Hunger Games, I know how you feel.

Well, AVPM is still my favorite StarKid show, but they're all pretty good. I really need to sit down and re-watch them all, actually...

That's so cool! I've heard they're really brilliant live. One day I'll see them. Seriously, how do you meet all these musicians?! You must tell me your secret! Steve is awesome. Adam Lambert seems pretty cool. He was on American Idol during the short duration that I actually watched it, and I always thought he seemed interesting. But I don't know any of his music. Maybe I'll go check it out.

Hey! Sorry for lateness. I was legitimately busy, then I was gonna reply to stuff, then the Avengers ate my soul.

I haven't seen anymore of your project stuff (see above mentioned busy+awesome), but I look forward to it! The two that I did manage to see were excellent.

Interesting... I don't think I've had any wigs be particularly evil to me, but I fully believe they are capable. That's...wow, a lot of hair. i just cut all mine off, but at it's longest, it's never been more than a few inches past my shoulders. I couldn't imagine all the work that must go into taking care of it.

I hope you got to see Cabin! My brother went without me, because he is a betrayer, but it's still on my list. Prom...oh, prom. How was yours? Mine was hilariously tragic lol. having mentioned Avengers, Chris Hemsworth is pretty damn awesome, I have to say. However, I'm now in love with Captain America, so...there ya go. Make of it what you will.

They ARE brilliant live. And insane. I got LynZ's thigh in my face at one point when she was walking on the crowd and fell over to crowd surf. Haha, I have really good famous-person luck, I guess. I think I inherited it from my dad, who accidentally got in an elevator with the Greatful Dead once. Took him a minute to recognize them. Lol I think that was the last season of American Idol I ever saw, actually... He's putting out an album in a week that's looking pretty promising. I'd say give it a shot.

Ahh, sorry this is late, I've had all my AP exams this week, meaning I was basically buried under a pile of books, and my internet's been acting wonky lately. But! Reply!

Yeah, I should probably upload those pictures at some point, I guess. I have nine of them that aren't up yet. I only have one week of school left, so hopefully that'll mean free time soon! Thanks, though! I'm glad you like them!

I guess part of the reason I might find some wigs evil is because of the issue of stuffing all of my hair under one. It's actually surprisingly easy to do, but it gets itchy and hot really quickly. None of my cosplay wigs are particularly uncomfortable, thankfully. My hair's actually not that hard to take care of, but that might just be because I'm so used to it. It's pretty thin, though, there's just a lot of it. I actually seriously considered cutting it all off a few months ago, but I still haven't been brave enough, haha.

I did get to see Cabin! It was really, really good. If you haven't seen it yet, you definitely should. There was a big, classic Whedon twist at the end. Also, Fran Kranz, who I enjoy.

Prom was alright. The music was kind of eh, but we got them to play Planetary. I made the Helena dress, which only one person recognized, but I was proud of it. Of course the after party was awesome, and by awesome I mean we all went over to my friend's house and watched Tron until five in the morning.

Ahh, Avengers. I need to see it again actually, it was so good. It was basically the perfect movie.

I really want to see them, but OF COURSE they're not coming anywhere near me on their tour (neither is Jack White, which is another equally infuriating story). But, it'll happen one day. I'm going to see the Used and Foxy Shazam next weekend, so I'll live. You DO have amazing famous person luck, apparently...

You know, I think that may have been the last season I watched too, actually. Well, I may have watched one after that. I don't remember. Yeah, I've never really listened to him before, but he's always been on my list. Maybe I'll go give him a try one of these days...

No worries, I'm entering into finals week, so I'll soon be MIA as well lol.

I just saw you posted your project stuff and was gonna go check them out. The previews look really cool!

Haha, yeah, I know that situation. I've always loved having short hair because it makes wigs way easier. I'd say think about it real hard if you want to cut it all off. :/ My friend cut hers and regretted it immediately. If you can take care of it well enough, I personally think long hair is awesome. I mean, you can do so much with it lol.

Ugh, I don't think I'll be able to see it in theaters. But I'm sure I can make my brother rent it for me when it comes out on DVD. I just have to avoid spoilers until then, I guess.

You got your prom dj to play MCR?! That's awesome! As is your dress idea. Haha, in-house parties are always better, in my opinion. I've heard from practically everyone the before- or after-party of prom is better. I kind of....skipped the whole experience, so I'll have to take people's word for it lol.

I've seen it three times, and it continues to be excellent. On a slightly related note, have you heard of Bum Reviews (or the Nostalgia Critic)? It's this guy who does comedic reviews of movies, and his review for the Avengers is actually really awesome. If you ever need a good laugh, you should check him out.

One day. They can't stay away forever lol. I...believe it is past when you would have gone to see the Used, etc, so how was it? I'll be seeing the Used for Warped this summer, so I'm curious whether they're good/great/just alright/etc.

Lol this is why my friends take me with them to concerts. I'm a good luck charm.

I encourage you to check out the new album. It's pretty damn good. Especially if you like music that you can dance to lol.

Ha, don't worry about it! Good luck on your finals! Or maybe you've already taken them, I don't know, but if that's the case, I hope you did well.

Thank you! I'm really psyched with how they turned out. I'm actually in the process of hanging them; but hanging foam boards to a wall requires large tacks...

Yeah, I think the real reason I'd be cutting my hair would just be a change. It's basically been the same for the last fourteen or so years, so I feel like it's time for a change. But I'm scared that I won't like it, haha. Mine is actually easy to take care of, but you can't do much with it. It's pretty thin, there's just a lot of it. That does make it easier to get under wigs, though, which is nice.

Cabin wasn't really something that you HAD to see in theaters, I don't think. Avengers was a big movie and all the effects looked really cool on the big screen, but Cabin wasn't like that. So it's not so bad. But it's definitely worth a watch. Unless you're kind of squeamish about gore, in which case it's gonna be a little hard to get through.

Yeah, but Planetary was one of the only good songs the DJ played (although he did play the Time Warp, which was fun). Hanging out with my friends was fun, but really prom wasn't all it's cracked up to be. You didn't miss much.

I've seen it twice, and it is indeed brilliant. I really have a hard time finding much wrong with it, haha. I haven't read any of the bad reviews (but maybe I'll look them up. I usually enjoy that sort of thing), but some of my friends didn't like it, and I can't fathom it, but to each their own, I guess...

I actually didn't end up sticking around for the Used. I don't really listen to them, and I was kind of tired, so I just headed home. One of my friends stayed, though, and she said they were awful. I don't know though...I feel like they're probably at least decent, what with being such a big band and all...I imagine they've had practice. I did see Foxy Shazam again though, and they're awesome. If you ever get the chance to go to one of their shows, you should definitely do it.

Yeah, Adam Lambert is on my list. I've actually got some albums that I haven't listened to yet that I'm gonna listen to first, but I'll look him up.

Hey! So sorry about the wait, but I am back! I had to help a friend move to Alaska for the summer, so things were hectic with that and finals going on. All set and ready to get into summer now though, thank goodness.

Nah, that’s cool. If you’ve had something one way for a long time, it’s hard to tell if a big change will freak you out or not. Have you ever dyed your hair? Just curious now, cause I’ve done all sorts of semi-inadvisable things to mine lol. Including shoving it under wigs

Yeah? I’m waiting for my local video store to get it in for rent at this point. As stated, I’m finally settling in for summer doing nothing, and that means creating a fort in my living room and watching a LOT of movies lol. I’m actually hoping to work up a good list of horror movies to watch all in a row because, you know, sleep is for the weak. Or something.
Don’t have a problem with gore though. I’m more scared by suspense. The Blair Witch Project was horrifying to me because you never know exactly what it is or what’s happening.

Aw, that’s too bad. But hey, can’t go wrong with Rocky Horror Speaking of which, have you ever gone to a performance/showing/whatever of Rocky Horror? My friend took me recently and it was simultaneously the most awkward and hilarious thing I’ve ever done.

I haven’t really seen any bad reviews either, except for a few people who admitted to being very nitpick-y. I like watching video reviews of stuff mostly for the jokes that go with it. I’m a great lover of comedy in most forms, so…

No? I don’t really listen to them either, but I stuck around for their set at Warped and was pleasantly surprised. It might be that I just love all concerts (and I do, I even liked the bands I truly don’t like because I just loved being there), but I think The Used was pretty decent. Even thought Bert was really socially unacceptable I saw Foxy the one time, but I didn’t really enjoy it. :/ It might’ve been the atmosphere though, cause I nearly passed out of dehydration and wasn’t really having a good time.

Awesome! I keep getting introduced to new bands/people recently, so I understand having a line-up waiting. I finally got around to listening to one band my friend has been nagging me about for weeks lol.

It's been a while since I replied, I'm sorry! I've been busy at film camp all this week, and I've been working pretty hard on my newest costume (Chell from Portal), which I'm trying to finish before I leave for pre-college in Boston next week. I've been a little busy. Anyway, hope your summer has been going well!

I actually dyed my hair last month. It's only temporary, but it's the stuff that stays in for a few months. I had planned for it to be, like, Party Poison red, but it turned out more pink, which was still cool. It's faded quite a bit now, and it's darker, but I still think it looks nice. My school won't let you have crazy colors though, which sucks, because if I did dye it permanently, I'd want it like fire engine red. So, I'd probably wait till I'm out of high school to do something like that.

I've never seen the Blair Witch Project (I know, I know), but I've been meaning to. I'm not a huge fan of gore (the only really gory movie I've ever really liked was Repo the Genetic Opera, which I would recommend if you haven't already seen it), but I really like suspenseful and psychological stuff.

I've actually never seen the movie of Rocky Horror, but a theatre troupe in my town did a steampunk version of it a few months ago, which I saw and it was AWESOME. I really need to see the original...

Well, it could just have been that girl's opinion, I don't know. One day I'll go see them and judge for myself. Really? I enjoy Foxy. But they did do some of the same stuff this time -- told the same jokes and such -- that they did when I saw them with Panic. I could see how a near-fainting experience could put a damper on a concert, too, though.

Haha, I've got quite a list of music to listen to. It's pretty bad, really, because I have stuff in my collection that I haven't listened to...

Hey, so you probably think I am a jerk/dead/etc, but I finally got time to sit down and reply properly. Any earlier would have been a message full of messy feelings and rambling.

My summer's been pretty bipolar so far, some good stuff, then some really not great family drama. It's weird.

Congrats on your hair! I haven't had the guts to do a really crazy color yet, but I've always wanted to. is your school a uniform school? Or they just have odd rules against hair colors?

If you like suspense, SEE IT. It tripped me out, but it was really good (thus the tripping out). Repo is awesome! I've only seen it twice, but my roommate is in love with it, so the soundtrack gets played around my house a lot lol.

Steampunk version sounds actually really cool. Intriguing, if you will. The original is, like, a nerd/geek.outcast classic and pretty hilarious and screwed up, so I'm all for more people seeing it. I'm just maybe not the best at talking it up lol. I tend to focus on how weird it is, which is a compliment for me, but not always for other people.

Yeah...fainting is one of those things I've never actually done and really very much don't want to. Hot, sweaty, and exhausted, I can take and enjoy, but actual passing out would be entirely traumatizing for me. I like being in control of all my faculties way too much lol.

Lol same thing happens to me. Especially over the summer. I get an influx of music and no time to listen to all of it. I wind up with about seven new songs/bands I like and twenty billion that I haven't heard more than thirty seconds of.

Ugh, this is so late! I'm really sorry! I was doing an art program in Boston for a month, and then I had two conventions in the space of two weeks (but one of them was my favorite one ever) so I went into costume construction frenzy, plus I was sick, and I'm currently co-directing a play at my school. So. I've got quite a lot happening. But I FINALLY got to replying!

Family drama sucks, man, but at least it was mixed in with good stuff. My summer was pretty good, but busy toward the end.

Thanks! My school doesn't have a uniform, but it's got a dress code. I can't wear t-shirts, which is unfortunate since those are my favorite. And yes, they have rules against weird hair colors/styles. They once made a friend of mine go home because she dyed her hair pink. It rather sucks.

Yeah, I need to see Blair Witch. It's on my list. I'm trying to get through all the "classic" movies, I watched a few this summer. I love Repo, yeah. The music is phenomenal. I mean, I'm not a huge gore person, but I'm willing to put up with it because the movie is so beautiful.

I've actually seen Rocky Horror since I wrote that, and it was great! I really did enjoy the steampunk version too, though. One day I'd like to go to a shadow cast of it. I've been to ones for Dr. Horrible (I actually went to one at Dragon*Con over the weekend), and they're always fun.

Yeah, I've also never fainted, but I think I've come close on a few occasions, and it's never pleasant. I also enjoy being in control of my faculties, haha.

Yeah, when I was in Boston I went to a thrift store that was selling CDs for $2 each, so of course I went crazy and now I have way too much music. A bunch of my favorite bands are releasing music soon too, so that'll preoccupy me for a while, I'm sure. I already have tons of unlistened music on my phone, it's pretty bad...

Guess who got a new computer and promptly lost her mind and nearly all her passwords. Clearly, the belatedness of your response is forgiven, seeing as I haven't really responded in over a month. But I'm glad you were doing something fun with your time! Hopefully cool stuff is still happening and you aren't under the impression I died. Because I totally didn't.

Since you've probly been back in school a while now, how goes it? I'm back in college at this point, getting taught about WWII for probably the millionth time again. But my professor is crazy awesome, so I'm cool with it.

I feel like my reaction to not being able to wear t-shirts would be on par with radical political groups. They're all I wear, pretty much. That's awful for your friend. They shouldn't be able to dictate what you can do to your own head. It's your head, after all.

Good goal to have lol. I just found out the sequel to Blair Witch is free on netflix, so that's happening when I can watch it in the middle of the day and not stay up all night freaking out. Mhmm. I just love the actors so much, and like you said, the music. It's weird and freaks my brother out, but I love it.

I've never seen Doctor Horrible live, but I'd love to! My brother did a really excellent cosplay of him, actually. He took it to a Sacramento con and got tons of attention. His first con too, so that was cool lol.

Heh, same. S'why I don't really like the whole drinking or drugs thing, just cause I don't like to give up that much control, you know? I don't have a problem with people doing what they want, but it's just so very not for me.

Dude, that's awesome! Never too much music lol. I'm so excited for all the stuff that's coming out soon. Have you heard Uno! yet? I got the digital copy right when it came out cause I got presale tickets to see Green Day when they're coming through my area.

Oh, wow. Okay. So I am NOT in fact dead, if you were wondering. My life has just been really really busy lately. I was directing a play, then I got cast in a play (which is still going on), and I'm doing NaNoWriMo (basically, writing a 50,000 word novel in the month of November), and through all that I'm working on my college apps (yay). But now it's Thanksgiving break, so I FINALLY have some time to sit down and actually write a reply.

School is going pretty well, just busy. As I mentioned I co-directed the middle school play, which was Alice in Wonderland, one of my favorite stories, so that was fun. What year are you in college? I'm gonna be starting that next year so yeah...

I've actually kind of started wearing T-shirts regardless of the dress code. No one's really noticed so far. I guess it's probably because I'm a senior and they just want me gone more than anything else. And yeah, it's sad about hair. I'm considering dying mine purple just for graduation...

I've been thinking of doing a Doctor Horrible cosplay myself, actually. I'd probably be the red version at the end though, because I like to be more obscure with my cosplays. And my dad said he would be Bad Horse if I did, haha. I'm working on a Bioshock costume right now though, so it'll have to wait a while.

Yeah, I'm not into the whole drinking and drugs either. I just really don't want to get into that scene--also, I can't afford it, so there's that. Drugs are expensive.

I have heard Uno!, and now Dos! is also out. I quite enjoy them both. When I first listened to them I liked Uno! better, but now that I'm listening to Dos! more, I'm not sure. Which one do you like better?

You're so lucky that you're going to see them! Green Day are definitely near the top of my list of bands to see live. Some bands NEVER come to Florida, it's really annoying (Jack White, Ludo, and Mindless Self Indulgence being the chief ones that I'm mad about), but Green Day does. I probably won't see them this time around though, because I just bought tickets to go see Muse again (AAAAAAHHH).

Okay, so I was definitely worried you were in fact dead. (With Hurricane Sandy and all, I was fretting, idk) But I am glad you are not dead and just very busy! Hopefully enjoying your busy-ness! Good luck with NaNo, by the way, I have nowhere near the dedication for that... And good luck with college apps! It's awful, but at least you only have to do it once (probably). My mother confiscated my computer over Thanksgiving, so I've just got back online lol.

I would high five you for that if I could! Lol way to take advantage of senior status. Weirdly enough, I was told to dye mine purple recently. I won't be, but I totally applaud you if you decide to! provided you don't get asked to leave graduation or something, as that would truly suck...

Haha, that's cool. I'm always torn between doing something unique like that or playing it up to get as much attention for it as I can. I'm really only shameless for attention at cons, so I tend to play it up. Your dad sounds awesome just from that lol. I dunno much about Bioshock, aside from my brother just started playing it. I'll have to google a bit.

I lied, I just googled it real quick and OH MY. That all looks complicated but epic. Best of luck!

Pfft, true. That's a really great deterrent for many stupid things I could do...

I think I'm biased, because I haven't heard Dos! much, cause I have to keep borrowing it from my friend. I have favorites from both of them, but I think I'm going to wind up liking Uno! overall better. I have this really unexpected love for Nightlife on Dos! though. I think I just like how different it is?

I am sadly no longer lucky. Our show got cancelled, or I'd be seeing them this Saturday. It's disappointing as hell, but I mean, hopefully Billie Joe will be doing what he needs to to get back into things. :/ I did get to go to a smaller show in the meantime though, and that was pretty fantastic. Sorry Florida seems to be a trouble spot for shows but hey! Muse is awesome! Hopefully it's a great show to make up for the lack of other bands showing their faces lol.

Okay, so it's been ages since I replied and honestly I don't even have a good excuse for it. For a long time I just had a lot of stuff going on in theater and school, and then I just kind of forgot that I even had a dA at all. So, it's been a while. Anyway, Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Kwanza/whatever holiday you celebrate and happy New Year! Hope all that was awesome. My Christmas was pretty laid back, I went to Memphis to visit my dad's family. I DID finish my NaNo, and it was the hardest that I've done so far, I think. I really need to go back and re-write it, it was pretty scattered by the end. I'm almost done with my apps, just two more, and I already got accepted to one of them, which is pretty cool.

I do want to dye my hair a crazy color, but I'll probably wait till after graduation, mostly because I DON'T want to get kicked out. I'm thinking bright red. I dyed it temporarily over the summer, it was a pinkish red, and I liked it, but I want it bright red. Like, Party Poison red.

Haha, I'm totally shameless for attention at cons, too, it's okay. I like my costumes to be recognizable, but not something that everyone does. My BioShock costume isn't going to be that complicated, haha. I'm going to be Jack, the protagonist from the first game, which is kind of obscure by BioShock standards, since it's a first-person game. I'm excited though. My dad is going to be Andrew Ryan from the same game.

Well, now Tre! is also out, so how did you like that? I actually really enjoyed "Nightlife," too. It took me a while to start liking Dos! but eventually I really did. I think it's going to be the same way with Tre!, there are a few songs that I like but right now I think the rest are kinda...eh. I probably just have to get used to it, though.

Aw, that sucks! Did they at least reschedule? Yeah, bands don't seem to like Florida much, BUT Mindless Self Indulgence is finally coming in April! I'm pretty psyched about that one. And yeah, I've seen Muse before, and they were great, so I'm excited.

It's totally fine, I'm just glad you're, like, okay and everything. I was starting to worry I'd clicked delete instead of reply or something... Happy holidays to you too! Mine was a wave of really dorky gifts that I love the crap out of, so yes, good lol. Awesome that you got to travel for Christmas. Was yours even remotely winter-y in Memphis? California winters/Christmases are kind of disappointingly sunny and warm every year.

Congrats on NaNo! Seriously, I applaud you. Did you publish it online somewhere or..? Also congrats on already getting accepted! Hopefully you will/did get into the place you want to go.

Probably a wise decision. I just chopped all of mine off and it's seriously weirding me out. I forget, do you watch Supernatural? Because I basically have Dean's hair, but black.

Lol pretty sure getting attention is the main reason to cosplay at cons anyway. But it's probably nice to not see a dozen other people dressed the same as you, yeah? That's so cool that your dad would do cosplay with you! My family still thinks the whole thing is really weird and pretty much want nothing to do with it. :/

I really like about half of Tre! 99 Revolutions is my jam and has been since I heard it the first time, but still deciding on the others. I got the boxset of all three CDs for Christmas, so I sort of binge listened to all of them in a row and I'm having trouble keeping them separated in my head now lol.

Nope, it's just cancelled. I'm pretty bummed about it, but at least we got refunded. I am going to see MSI though, and their first show is half an hour away from me, so I'm super excited! And that's kickass that they're finally in your area!! I get to be excited for you too now.

I'm fine, haha! I really don't even know what happened, I just woke up one day and said, "Crap! I have a deviantArt, don't I?" Anyway. My holidays were fun, I got mostly comic books and money as gifts which I am perfectly okay with. It got pretty cold in Memphis this year, actually; at least, cold by my standards. It was usually in the 30's and 40's, which I enjoyed. I really like cold weather, in small doses. Memphis weather is kinda sporadic; last year it was in the 60's, I think. Florida was of course really hot. I ate lunch outside in shorts and bare feet on Christmas day, so not so big on the coldness.

Thanks! It was pretty hard this year. I ran out of plot about halfway through my novel and so I kind of just had to improvise. It's not published anywhere, not yet anyway. I haven't technically finished the story yet, but I did get 50,000. And, obviously, it need A LOT of revision before it's decent for anyone's eyes. Someday I'll get around to finishing it...

I DO watch Supernatural (one time, I dressed up like Cas and walked around in a cardboard Impala with my friends at a convention...but that's another story ), so I can picture that. I probably wouldn't have so much doubt about it (hey, hair grows back eventually) if it wasn't that I had NEVER cut it. If I cut it, I never get to say that again.

It really is, haha. I usually try to be kind of obscure with my costumes, though, or at least with elements of it, if that makes sense. Haha, my dad is pretty much the reason I started to go to conventions at all, actually. He's pretty cool. We do a lot of cosplays together. In a few weeks we're going to be the TARDIS and the Fourth Doctor at a con. He's pretty much the only one in my family who doesn't think it's a little weird, I think. My mom tolerates it, though.

I think my favorites off of Tre! are probably X-Kid and Dirty Rotten Bastards. I'm enjoying it more every time I hear it, really. The first time I thought it was a little eh but I really like it now.

Oh, speaking of music, have you been listening to Conventional Weapons? I'm really enjoying it. There hasn't been a song yet that I really didn't like (although Number Two is my least favorite). Kiss the Ring is currently my jam.

Aw, that sucks... but maybe they'll come back around on their next tour! I'm excited for MSI, yeah. And All Time Low are coming back with You Me At Six in a couple months, so I'll be seeing them too. I've never seen YMAS, and All Time Low usually put on a pretty good show. It should be a good time.

I feel you on the cold weather. We went to the snow for my birthday weekend, and it was awesome, but I'm glad not to be freezing anymore lol. I'm jealous of the warmth on a regular basis though. It's super windy here and I absolutely hate that.

Wow, that must be some story for not being finished at over 50K words! Are you still working on it now, or once NaNo's over do you take a break? I'm terrible with revision, so I dunno if it works better to let it sit for a while for a fresh look later, or if there's a risk of running out of steam for it or what.

Haha, that's awesome! I'm pretty sure my friends and I are going to man up one day and cosplay Supernatural ourselves, but it won't be for a while, I'm sure. And yeah, it's kind of awesome to be able to say you've never cut your hair. I can respect that. Obviously, I don't have that kind of restraint, as I literally just gave myself Frank's hair from Three Cheers.

That's super cool. It's nice having support for the stuff you enjoy. And group or pair cosplays are always more fun.

Dirty Rotten Bastards is my jam! I also have a great love of 99 Revolutions. I also have tickets to go see them in April, which I'm freaking out about. My friends and I managed to get tickets this year for MSI, Green Day, and Fall Out Boy all within six months of each other, so I'm completely psyched.

I've kept up with Conventional Weapons, aside from the last couple of songs. My internet has been shoddy at best (thus my late reply, sorry!), so I still only have seven of the songs. But what I do have, I really like. Boy Division and Tomorrow's Money are definitely my favorites, but I kinda love them all.

I hope your concert situation is doing good! I saw All Time Low (from a distance) at Warped last year, and I think they were pretty good, so hopefully you get a great show. Can't say I know much about YMAS though...I think I only have a couple of their songs, so I'm sadly not very knowledgeable.

Gah, okay, really really late reply! I don't even really have a good excuse, I'm sorry! I've been in and out of internet for the past few weeks, and on top of that I've had school work and theater and an art portfolio to finish. I guess with all of that I just sort of spaced.

Anyway, I guess the first order of business is the breakup! How are you holding up? I was pretty devastated at first--I still am--but I think I've sort of come to understand more why they did it after reading Gerard's letter. I'm still really upset, but I've forgiven them. I haven't been able to listen to any of the music yet, though, but I did wear my Helena dress the day of the breakup. I hope you're doing okay!

I haven't really gotten around to touching up my NaNo since I finished it. To be honest, I really just need to re-write it at this point. It's basically one giant plot hole. I keep meaning to do it...maybe over summer break when I have more time I'll go back and revisit it.

Supernatural is fun to cosplay. I think I posted a picture of ours on here, actually. Walking around in a cardboard box all day got a little uncomfortable, though. And my hair is actually pretty easy to manage--it's really thin, so it doesn't get too hot and it's easy to brush and stuff. I think if it was thicker I probably would have cut it by now, but as it is I can just throw it into a bun when I don't want it anymore. And that sounds cool--you're talking the mohawk thing, right?

Yeah, my dad and I do a lot of pair cosplays. We went to a con a few weeks ago, and we were zombie Doctor and TARDIS from Doctor Who. It was pretty cool...I'd never done zombie makeup before. We also did Rapunzel (from Tangled...sort of goes with the whole not cutting hair thing) and Captain Hook.

Yay, I'm glad you still get to see Green Day! I was going to get tickets to see Fall Out Boy, but I didn't have enough money...but now they've announced another tour in the fall and they're coming back, so I may get tickets after all! I saw them before they went on hiatus, on their last tour with Blink-182. It was great. I'm excited for MSI--it's in about a week! I've heard their concerts are crazy. I also saw Muse about a month ago, and they're in my top three bands, and it was brilliant. They played my favorite song, which was wonderful.

Yeah, there weren't any on Conventional Weapons that I really didn't like. I think my favorite is definitely Kiss the Ring, it's great. I like all of them, though. Boy Division is a close second, and Light Behind Your Eyes is my favorite song when I'm sad. I really enjoyed it, though.

ATL is usually pretty good; I've seen them twice, and I'm seeing them again in a few weeks. YMAS is pretty good. To be honest I haven't really listened to them much, but I got a bunch of their music, so I'll do that before the concert.

Okay, so I am secretly dead. That is my excuse.

Oh lord, the breakup. It's not so recent anymore, so I'm better, I guess. But I still keep getting emotional any time MCR comes up on my ipod or anything. I'm really glad Gerard wrote what he did too, it helps... I actually found a couple fellow fans only a few days before the breakup, so we bonded over that and became sort of insta-friends. Silver lining? Either way, I'm mostly remembering all the good stuff that's happened because of the band and that makes it better. :/

Yeah, I took a look. Lol cardboard box cosplay had to be interesting, so props for that. I'm still trying to figure out what I wanna do for my next cosplay (if I ever get around to doing it again lol), but I keep bouncing between different fandoms I love. It's difficult lol. I feel like having a lot of hair would be really fun if it's manageable? I've never been able to do anything with mine no matter what length, but I love playing with long hair. And yeah, the mohawk thing. It's back to just black now because my roommate refused to spend another four hours bleaching the sides of my head, but promised we can do it again over summer. It was really fun hair to walk around with

Haha, zombie makeup always sounds like it'd be fun, but messy. I've only ever done small amounts of gory makeup myself, and that got everywhere and was an adventure to clean up after lol.

Green Day was so fantastic! It was their hometown and they rocked the hell out of it! I got crowd surfed and ventured into a couple moshpits and they just...fucking rocked it. Do you know if you're gonna make it to see FOB? And how was MSI?! I saw them in Sacramento and the show was great! There was weirdly no opener, so we stood around waiting for like an hour, but once they showed up, it was awesome lol. And I got to talk to Lynz afterwards and she was super nice, so that was really cool.

Has ATL happened yet? If so, how was it? I hope it was/will be kickass!

Okay wow, it's been really really long since I replied! I literally just forgot that I even had a deviantArt for a while, I think...I had graduation and all the hassle that comes with that, and somewhere in there I forgot about this website. But, I'm back now! Until I forget again...

Yeah, the breakup was tough. It still is, really...I don't think I've listened to Kids From Yesterday since. I guess I'm better though. I really liked Gerard's essay thing, it actually really helped. And I've had a lot of really good times because of that band, and met a lot of cool people (like you!), so I am thankful for all they did for me. I guess everything has to come to an end sometime.

I actually just started working on two cosplays. I'm doing a Little Sister from BioShock (it's one of those ones that everyone does, but it actually fits my body type because I look like I'm about 12, so I'm excited), and I'm doing Ursula from the Little Mermaid (that's gonna be fun...lots of tentacles...). I've got about a month and a half or so before the con I'm going to wear them to, so I think I'll be able to finish them.

Actually, the day after I graduated I dyed my hair green! It's pretty cool. My friend did it, it took a movie and a half. Originally it was supposed to be blue, but since my hair is darker blond naturally and I didn't want to bleach it, it came out this sort of bluish-green...I really like it. It's semi-permanent, but I like it so much that I'm considering making it permanent.

Zombie makeup is messy, but it's fun. It was actually easier than I expected it to be. Liquid latex is the way to go. Kinda hurts when you're pulling it off, though. I'm planning on doing it again for Dragon*Con over Labor Day weekend (that's the biggest con I go to).

One day, I'll see Green Day. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Yay for crowd surfing! I've never done it but I've always wanted to. Anyway, yes! I'm seeing FOB on September 29! I'm so psyched. It's them and Panic, so it's gonna be fucking rad. I actually didn't end up getting to go to MSI, my ride cancelled at the last minute. I was pretty bummed, but I figure I'll have another chance once I move out of state. My friend saw them in New York though, and she met like everyone right afterward. Insanely jealous.

ATL were great! I got up to the barricade somehow, and Alex (the lead singer) walked on the crowd and he walked on me (he also spit on me, but I'll forgive him). But yeah, it was really great. My favorite time seeing them, even though their set wasn't as long. Also, a few weeks ago I saw Marianas Trench, and they were, like, insane. I loved that concert. I just recently got into them but I think they're gonna be my new obsession, haha. Anyway, if you haven't seen them you should try and get a chance because they're really good.
