Hey. i noticed in the WIP pictures of your juri han figure that it said mixed media, and then later it mentioned casting. i was wondering if you used made a mold of it and used some kind of resin? i've been kind of interested in making some figures myself recently, if you could give me a tip it'd be great. thanks!

uuuuuuuuuuuhh. yeah i've taken a 3D design class my junior year in high school but it wasn't really that helpful for wanting to create figures like i'd want, mostly pots and such. unfortunately. but i've been meaning to get into it and teach myself for a while.

I see. Sculpey is a nice material to start with, or you can go with slow curing epoxy. You don't really need much tools though.

thanks. i was wondering what type of resin you might suggest. i've worked with fiberglass and amazing casting resin. but i'm worried that it might be kind of brittle. i was also looking into some polyester resin for another project though.

Oh it depends. Sometimes the commissioner likes fiberglass because it's light and strong, and sometimes they like polystone since it's heavy and really feels like a statue but is less though than fiberglass. There are some cases when the commissioner likes the best of both worlds (strength and weight) so I use fiberglass filled with polystone.

Hi there. I would suggest starting out by studying Andrew Loomis and Burne Hogarth As for actual sculpting, I'm not really sure where to check because I just learned this from scratch I did however check some vids in Youtube, especially the ones by Kotobukiya, on how to sculpt anime figures because it's one thing I had a hard time with when I started
