Rouge2012 In reply to ??? [2009-11-09 21:08:00 +0000 UTC]
I'm an upcoming writer myself, and I know exactly how you feel. I usually just carry a notebook around with me all the time and the moment I get an idea, I hurry and scribble it down before I lose it. It's not always in words; sometimes I'll draw little diagrams or pictures of a scene that pops into my head.
Just a little thought to help. I really like your ideas, and I want to hear more.

Tell ya what, I won't declare war on you for this if you won't declare war on me. Deal?

Hmmm...
The temptation to declare war is great, but I suppose I could let it pass.

Why aren't you even on Facebook anymore?

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, guess how long you have left to live.

Does the road I pick choose my life? Or does my life choose the road I walk? Such is the conundrum.

Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-26 04:07:04 +0000 UTC]
I'd say the first one. The road less traveled may seam nice, but it's probably less traveled for a reason, maybe people don't come out of that road alive very often. On the other hand, life experiences can shape later choices, so roads may be less traveled simply because you've less traveled them.

Sage advice. I'm still taking the road less traveled, though.

Alright, but when I speak at your funeral, I'm gonna say "I warned him."
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-26 20:03:29 +0000 UTC]
Will there be a whole speech besides that, though? It'd be a bit anti-climatic if you just walk up to the casket, say "I warned him." Then walk back to your seat.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-26 22:14:27 +0000 UTC]
But the anticlimacticness is half the reason for doing it. c:
If you'd prefer, I could give my speech then as I'm heading for my seat I double back and say "One last thing, I warned him."

dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-27 02:02:54 +0000 UTC]
That would be a lot better.
Ah, I can imagine it now...
"...In conclusion, he was one of the greatest friends I have known." You head for your chair, then hesitate. You walk back up, and announce to the crowd, "And one last thing; I warned him." Then you walk to your seat, satisfied.

Gettin' a big head, arncha?
Hm...that's an interesting point though, I think I'll start my speech with "In conclusion..."

Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-27 22:54:53 +0000 UTC]
Or maybe not. Maybe I'll say the stuff about "great friend" etc, then finish with "In conclusion, I warned him." Think they'd let me draw my rendition of a yellow wood on your coffin?

dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-28 00:26:09 +0000 UTC]
As long as you put me walking down a path that is obviously less used than the other, sure. Just don't put anything stupid on there...

Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-28 01:56:21 +0000 UTC]
Of course not, I'm just gonna draw your head on a monkey's body, nothing stupid.

dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-28 01:57:53 +0000 UTC]
Okay, nothing by my definition of stupid. Which means no monkey body.

Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-28 02:07:04 +0000 UTC]
Oh...but how will I know your definition of stupid if you'll be too dead to proof-read my work?

dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-28 04:03:48 +0000 UTC]
Just tell me what you plan to draw right now, or I'll just leave it in my will that you're not to draw on my coffin or tombstone. c:

How 'bout a dragon in flight clutching an enormous ring in it's claws that Sonic's hanging on to? It's symbolic!

dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-28 13:53:33 +0000 UTC]
...Possibly. Tell me what it symbolizes, first. I'm interested.

Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-29 00:49:37 +0000 UTC]
I could say whatever I want it to mean at the time, but that's too easy, so I'll go for the challenge.
It symbolizes passage to the afterlife on a less-traveled road while the easier path lies just out of reach.

dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-29 02:02:59 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm... It's possible. But... Sonic? He's a copyrighted character. Just draw a person.
...
Waitaminute.
You can't draw! D:< That's what's been bugging me this whole conversation! You can't draw on my coffin at all if you're drawing skills haven't improved significantly.

Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-29 03:03:29 +0000 UTC]
The entire symbolism is lost if it's not Sonic!
And how d'you know I'm not a mondo great artist and am only pretending to suck. c:

dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-29 13:09:15 +0000 UTC]
It doesn't matter if your a mondo great artist or not. If I don't see any improvement, then you don't get to draw.
Anyways, why would the symbolism be lost if it isn't Sonic?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-29 17:17:32 +0000 UTC]
Cause it's the cornerstone of the whole piece, you can't ask me to change it!
But if you see how mondo great I am, I'll have to kill you.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-29 21:25:33 +0000 UTC]
Ah, I think I can see a solution to this, if you're willing to change the figure holding onto the ring. At my deathbed, you come in, show my your great drawing skills, and kill me because of it, and you're free to draw on my coffin. That is, if you're willing to not draw Sonic.
How about it?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Patrick169 In reply to dXrandomXb [2009-04-30 01:57:25 +0000 UTC]
But like I said, Sonic is key to the symbolism of the thing, to change that part would make the whole work pointless. I guess I could draw something else entirely...
Can I draw Mario or no copyrighted characters at all?

dXrandomXb In reply to Patrick169 [2009-04-30 21:42:26 +0000 UTC]
XD No copyrighted characters. The best you can use is just an everyday joe. Or a stick figure.

A stick figure wearing a black top hat? That could be totally original. Who's gonna know...
