Hi Daniel, these pics are of festivals where subcultures like Pagans, Wiccans & Goths come to celebrate one of the 8 Sabbats!! This one Midsummer(night) or better known as the feast of Litha !!!
Nearly every agricultural society has marked the high point of summer in some way, shape or form. On this date β usually around June 21 or 22 β the sun reaches its zenith in the sky. It is the longest day of the year, and the point at which the sun seems to just hang there without moving β in fact, the word βsolsticeβ is from the Latin word solstitium, which literally translates to βsun stands still.β The travels of the sun were marked and recorded. Stone circles such as Stonehenge were oriented to highlight the rising of the sun on the day of the summer solstice.

For the Midsummer festival (ans Midwinter festival) , a archeological theme park is used, which has known better times !!
Now it is used as a background for these type of festivals !!
Other times the organisation has rented a Cathedral from 1538 in the old center of the city of Leiden for a 2 day during festival !!
for other festivals the playgrounds are medieval castles in Holland !!
A certain amount of money generated by these festivals is used for example renovation, and so on !!
Pagan/wiccan scene is growing rappidly in Swiss , Holland, Germany, Belgium and the Nordic country's !!
Blessed be , lenZ
So it works 2 ways !! greetz lenZ
