Previously, when I had to deal with the donate button, first ".popup2-moremenu" class image was covering it, so I had to restore the button (by creating the second copy). Now, as I can see, this button stays on top no matter what. Perhaps they added some rule to avoid the overlapping of buttons, or reduced the priority of ".popup2-moremenu" and ".floaty-boat" classes. If so, then the only way to hide it, which comes to my mind for now, is to find some DIV that always stays above (like pop-up window) and use it as a container for the blue button.
Incidentally, someone just leave the button as it is , though it's incorrect to call this a solution.

I just deleted the blue button. So as long as everything looks normal and works then I'm satisfied ^^ Thank you for helping.

I've just noticed the interesting thing. It seems that red button displays on top in "disabled" state only: you see it because it's disabled for you on your own page (since we can't donate to ourselves); also I can see it if I log out and visit your page after that (since you can't donate if you're not registered). In both cases the red button is semi-transparent. Otherwise it seems that the button is covered by background (just as I expected previously) and doesn't display at all.
In other words. I guess it's better to restore the blue-button, because:
- in fact the red-button (the real one, not the semi-transparent "disabled shadow" of it) is hidden;
- since the real red-button is hidden, I guess that noone can donate, because there're no buttons there for now...>,>
By the way, you can also ask your logged in friends to check if the button is there now, when the blue-button is deleted. If it's not, then my supposition is correct.

I am a bit confused. I had an account on here about a year ago, and now I have come back and seen non PMs with journal skins! I've written out the CSS but I can't work out how to save it onto the journal. Can anyone help me please?

Immerot In reply to miki-sunshine [2015-03-26 07:44:42 +0000 UTC]
You mean that ? I guess it's some sort of hack - probably the same one which is in use in custom boxes: you take some existing site elements (usually buttons) and use them as a part of journal skin (as a background, as a blockquote etc). It remains to select the elements which perfectly fit each other (considering colors and possible behaviour).

No, but thanks for showing me that anyway as it looks quite cool! One of my friends doesn't have a PM, but she used journal skins for about a week, but now she can't use them. It was probably just a glitch that got fixed by the staff

The CSS for the Donate custom widget here doesn't center the donate button properly.
There is a table with only one cell (for some reason). The cell has style attributes of
max-width: 386px;
width: 90%;
On my 1366 x 768 screen, the width of the widget is greater than 386px, which causes the cell to have a margin to the right. The width percentage should also be 100%.

How do I wrap text around another set of text? I can't seem to remember how I managed it before, but I feel like I've looked almost everywhere and I haven't found any suitable answers. I would like the text to look like this when shown in a Custom box. Thanks in advance!

How do you create buttons in journal skins?
How do you make it so when you scroll over something in a journal skin, it becomes animated?

Immerot In reply to shift-cIick [2015-01-06 05:22:00 +0000 UTC]
How do you create buttons in journal skins?Usually with pseudoclasses like ":hover", I think: special properties for elements "at start" and special properties for elements covered by mouse cursor.
How do you make it so when you scroll over something in a journal skin, it becomes animated?Not sure, what you mean exactly, but I guess that it concerns the "transform" property.

Regarding the cursor, could one have the pointing point on the bottom left, instead of top left?
Thanks!

gillianivyart In reply to Andorada [2014-11-03 15:33:16 +0000 UTC]
You would need to make a custom image for it. Here is a site with some tips: CSS Tricks I hope that helps. You can probably find custom images for it. I don't know much about cursors, as to make the point part be where you want it, if the arrow is down, you'd need the 'click' to be down as well.

I'd like to display 2 or 3 activity feeds only, is that feasible with CSS?
If no, is there a way to put the activity feed on the left column side? because the left side is shorter than the right side.
I dislike the new activity feed because my front page gets a visually unbalanced look!

Those are the kind of answers I would like to have too.
But it's nice to know that they are going to add a widget editor, but I question why they didn't wait until they had it before letting it loose on DA. They might have gotten a bit less hate comments about it if they did.
I hope any new ideas they come up with does on the left hand side this time. I worked on making my two sides even and complete until this happened. I got it back kinda, but not as well as before.
Oh well.
Thanks for voicing the questions and concerns we both had.

in the past i coded several things but not in Css, Html. Today i simply have no more the time to experiment around, everyone has its job.
Bah…i try this activity feed for some time and if things arent really improving i'll remove that widget.
If the Da admins see and improvement in their newest update, looking statistics, they will do no further improvements, thats sure.

I'd like to display 2 or 3 activity feeds only, is that feasible with CSS?You mean the Activity widget? I can't say that something is impossible until I try it, but I suppose that even if it's realizable that way, it wouldn't be as natural as it seems. I guess it'd be better to wait for the standard widget editing, since they planned to add it anyway.
is there a way to put the activity feed on the left column side?I think yes (with Stylish or some tools like implemented CSS in Opera, if your browser supports this), but it would be visible for you only.
I dislike the new activity feedWhy not to just remove it then?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
gothicAge In reply to Immerot [2014-10-20 10:30:41 +0000 UTC]
thanks for your answers. Yup, it thought it like you-everything is possible until one tries.
I dislike the new activity feed>Why not to just remove it then? youre right.
The feature itself isnt bad, but the right column gets too long
I cant understand why Da forces users to put some dialogs only on the right side, others to the left side. Its an older issue.
