Yay XD I drew Near, but he came out sort of weird - but I loved shading in his hair. You can add any color you want while you shade it, but I tried to make his clothes different colors. Didn't come out too well xD I don't like coloring black hair, because I have no idea how to shade it. Make the shadows darker than black? Ahh.
I know how to say hello in Lithuanian, and that's only because it's "Achoo" (or however you spell it) and it reminds me of sneezing and it's easy to remember XD

Ah, I use black...for the ultimate shadow xD; I dunno a better way of saying that OTL
And it's Ačiu. But Ačiu means "Thanks" XDD
Labas is one way of saying hello XD

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-07-22 19:00:35 +0000 UTC]

Haha, oh. Oops XD My mom lied then.
Ultimate shadow XD I guess you could use a lighter black, then go over it with a darker one for the shadows, and fill in some of the high lights with grey..
Why'd you give up on Lithuanian? Sounds like a super-fun language to learn :]

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-22 22:39:08 +0000 UTC]

Your mama lied? XD
Is she from Lietuva or at least speaks Lithuanian?
And It's a beautiful language, don't get me wrong, I love it...I just don't think...I'll ever use it XD (Even if it is easier to pronounce than Norsk OTL)
Hair is honestly the thing I love colouring most. I leave the highlights blank and work my way from dark to light...I dunno why I find it easier o.O

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-07-22 22:44:05 +0000 UTC]

Haha no, we were just discussing how to say hello in a whole bunch of languages one day, and she assumes she knows all because she's a foreign language teacher XD
Btw, what does OTL mean? :] You use it all the time and I just smile and nod, lol
It totally depends on what color the hair is. If it's black, then it's just a pain. But white, like Near's hair, was just so fun to draw <3 I like skin, because you can shadow all over the place and it all just blends in so nicely :]

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-22 23:50:35 +0000 UTC]

An OTL lol

But I see X3
I dunno...I just hate colouring light hair...it's so boring after a while XD Skin is hard for me though ;o; I can never do it right!

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-07-23 00:20:17 +0000 UTC]

Lol, ohh, alright.
I just really like mixing and adding colors, and light colored stuff like skin and hair allow me to do that :]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-23 14:07:57 +0000 UTC]

I dunno. It sounds like most people do that...start lighter and work their way to the darker shadows and such...I think that's why skin is so hard for me XD
You can't start dark with skin lol

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-07-23 14:15:15 +0000 UTC]

Unless you did the shadows first.. but I wouldn't see how anybody would want to do that lol. Is that what you do with hair? Just color it all dark and then add high lights?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-24 12:31:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah pretty much XD; Like..I leave the highlights blank and work my way from there :3
So uh...damn I don't know how to explain XD
So I first use a base colour and then add the shadow from there o3o;;

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-07-24 13:49:47 +0000 UTC]

.. Did I respond to this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-25 09:40:26 +0000 UTC]

Yes, yes you did o3o

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-07-24 13:47:55 +0000 UTC]

But I thought you added the shadow first :/ I guess I do that too sort of, like use the base color and then lighten and darken spots later. Like in blonde hair! In blonde hair you can use so many colors XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-25 09:39:37 +0000 UTC]

I do o3o
I don't know how to explain it TTATT But oh well. And noooo you can't XD; That's why I hate colouring it!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-07-25 14:08:41 +0000 UTC]

Really? I always use sorts of reds and sometimes blue and green at the tips to darken things up - black is the only color of hair I don't like to color, but that's L's hair color :[ Lol, and I still don't understand how you would do the shadows first... do you just fill those in and then the base color? I guess you could do that..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-27 13:40:14 +0000 UTC]

I don't know about all that fancy stuff |D;
I just use what colours seem best lol. Purples for shadows on skin though >u>;
I need to take more colour classes. o3o

I've found a 50% coupon for Michael's, so my mom just might buy those markers now... I was looking around and apparently they aren't as good as I thought they were, because they say the ink runs out fast and it's hard to fix your mistakes or something.. Do you think your markers were worth it?
Yeah, so do I lol. And purple, really? I just use a darker shade of the original skin tone, and throw some orange and red in there. I guess purple would make it more shadowy.. Thanks! XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-27 16:19:39 +0000 UTC]

WHAT? Run out of ink fast? Mine have lasted me for like three years XD;
But then again, I am...cautious when I use them...like making sure I use them for good purposes...So I dunno.
But I do admit they bleed...a lot, like...hard to control if you're colouring tiny spaces and fine lined pictures. The colour will basically spread over more area than you intend if you don't do it right. I guess it depends on pressure you use.
And yes...my favourite skin shadow would be a crayola coloured pencil called "Pale rose" XD;;
It's my best friend lol

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-07-29 21:54:22 +0000 UTC]

Haha I'm just getting colored pencils. I'm too nervous to get markers and that i'll just keep messing up lol
i heard rose art was absolutely horrible. i need crayola for red, lol. everything else is orange :/
i forget, for colored pencils do you use prismacolor? because now i'm shopping for those rather than the markers. but i might get derwent.. XD i don't even know the difference between all the brands. all i know is not to get roseart, apparently.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-07-30 04:06:31 +0000 UTC]

Ja! I use Prismacolour for both markers and pencils. uwu
I'm not to...I dunno. I dunno the difference between brands, but ugh...Roseart is like...just...really terrible XD
Basically, the more expensive, the more awesome they work lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-08-01 03:07:57 +0000 UTC]

lol yeah, i'm hoping for some prismacolors i have a 50% off coupon for michaels, so i'm hoping they have a set :] and yeah, i would assume you get what you pay for. speaking of which, have you ever tried the copic markers? because i've heard they're like 30 times better.. but 30 times more, lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-08-02 14:41:00 +0000 UTC]

*Sigh* I LOVE copic. *Only uses her friend's set* But yes..they are like a million times more expensive, therefore, I have none of my own. ;3;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-08-10 01:34:09 +0000 UTC]

I know.. maybe I'll get them on ebay or something, lol. if i only were so lucky. you're fortunate to have a friend who is willing to let you use her markers

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-08-10 16:04:12 +0000 UTC]

Nah, don't order them on ebay. It seems sketchy XD
Just go to their website or browse around artsy stores. They usually have some sales or something.
But no no, I dun have friends who are...ahem "willing" XD I'm just like, "I'm using this >:V" XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

learntosayhello In reply to GermanyTwoGermany [2009-08-12 00:43:31 +0000 UTC]

ahahahaha. and i know i should order them legitimately, but i can't bear to part with six dollars when all it means is one marker.
i don't know how these artists afford to live.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-08-12 14:06:35 +0000 UTC]

I knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
XD And "how artists afford to live?" NO NO NO NO NO. They don't XD
You've heard of all the artists "But I'm an artist, I can't afford it!" XD Sacrifice ;_;

GermanyTwoGermany In reply to learntosayhello [2009-08-13 17:40:58 +0000 UTC]
