Pretty cool. I like how it looks like it's raining. The effect adds a bit more to the natural feel of the scene. Although, something about the scale of the rain vs the scale of the focal object seems off to me.

As you get smaller (towards macro), you tend to catch more individual droplets rather than the streaked bars you see from a distance. Basically the length of the bars (streaks) showing the camera's exposure length, and the thickness of the bars showing their diameter. A good visual example can be found here: [link]

Still a cool image though. I am just a nitpicker.

I didn't saw this pic as a macro but more as a tilt-shifted landscape, that's why !
But you're right, as I see the pic today, it'll have been better to interpret it as a macro of a "spore alien vegetation" ! I'll think of it for the next pic !

Ah, I see I see. My immediate impression was of macro. Probably because of the the way the object in focus is cut off at the bottom right. My first association is of a closeup of a twig/branching structure rather than one of a larger structure like a tree or other natural growth.

In any case, it still looks cool.

The DOF you use actually reminds me of macro shots or tilt shift. I've been meaning to try it out as I like the effect a lot.

You should always ask first. Not after. I don't mind so much, but others might not allow it.

And always check that the image you are using is in resources. That way you never have to worry about people getting upset.

In this case, I would have just made you a brand new texture so you didn't have to use my art. Just don't be shy and drop a message or two. You'd be surprised at how helpful people are.

It looks like you are really shaping up to be quite the illustrator. Keep at it for sure.
