sorry I was so late to tell you this 
This is how far I got:
Zim followed Gaz back home, but as he was about to walk in, Gaz slammed the door in his face. Zim sighed and turned the doorknob. He went up to the blue room, and plopped onto the bed.
After staring at the ceiling for a few hours, the small, green alien gave up trying to sleep. Something had to be done. He grabbed a coat and strided out the door again, this time determined to find Dib. He aimlessly wandered through the city... Then he saw it.
In the yard it had a large sign with the words "Crazy House for Boys" scrawled across it. Zim walked into the drab building.
A human stared at him.
"Now what do you think yer doin'?"
Frankly, Zim didn't know himself. It wasn't as if Dib was here.
"Umm."
"Visiting hours are over! Come back at 9:00 AM or somethin' if ya wanna see someone."
Out from the corner, a sleepy Irken stumbled into sight. He said, "Uh, hey, I'm cold and I can't sleep, and so, uh, I was just wondering if you'll give me a blanket?"
"Skoodge!"
"Huh? Do I know you?"
Skoodge blinked twice and stared at Zim for a minute or two.
"OH! You're... wait."
Skoodge scratched his head.
"Hmm..."
Zim crossed his arms.
"How could you forget about ZIM?!"
Skoodge's face lit up as he shouted back, "Oh yeah! I didn't forget you! It's just that you look different!"
The receptionalist interrupted the reunion, "Hel-LO! Didn't ya hear anythin' I said? LEAVE."
"Oh, well, so long Skoodge."
"Wait, but I haven't even asked you what's been going on yet!", Skoodge complained.
Zim replied, "Well, I gotta stop this big headed Dib-human from taking over this planet."
"Oh really? Didn't the Tallest send you here to destroy this planet yourself though?"
Zim stroked his chin, "Oh yeah... Well, it doesn't sound very reasonable now. This planet isn't too bad, though I do miss Irk..."
"Heh, I didn't get to see much of Earth myself. They locked me up in here as soon as I mentioned I'm an alien. Nah, they didn't lock me up for being an alien, rather for being crazy. They don't believe me."
"What em I? Fried brocolli?", muttered the man at the desk.
"By the way, what's that you're wearing?"
"Oh this?," Zim gestured at his coat.
"No, that."
Confused, Zim looked at his reflection in a window and saw a small blue charm around his neck. It was really noticeable, now that he thought about it.
"Uh, I don't know either. The professor guy must have put it on me when I was unconscious," Zim said as he fingered the geometrical design. Suddenly the charm flashed, and Zim heard a small click behind him.
"Huh?," Zim twisted around, trying to look at his PAK.

Meanwhile, Dib had finally run out of coffee, and within a few minutes, he crashed. But an hour or two later, the alarms went off in his hideout. Dib jerked his head up, a dazed look on his face. Something was invading the base! He sat up straight and started typing something. A security camera live recording appeared on the screen.
"Drat, it's that forsaken ALIEN again!"
Dib squinted and muttered, "And who's that with him?"

"Because. Because

Actually. you DO see Irk in the IZ series. It's the first episode of Zim with the enormous robot destroying his home planet. Irk has a pink sky and the ground is made of entirely warped metal.
