wasn't sure what to answer right away so it took a while
I'm Busy busy busy ^^
but it's a good busy, have tried out some (delicious) recipe for a sweet (Ohagi Mochi - it's Japanese) I've discovered =3
now to eat all the delicious leftover dough...
I also promised to translate something for a friend: . I've been done with that for a while. But I still need to read it through and do some corrections and stuff and still need to do that.
I really should consider get myself more organized. and I should set myself a deadline so I actually can start getting done with it!
also has Birthday today. By the way.
oh and I'm doing a coding project as well. (Not as exciting as the candy part I wrote about but still fun, and still on my to do list!)
so yeah. I'm busy but it's all great good fun =3
Have you settled in nicely?

Sounds super awesome!
Coding is fun! I want to learn how to code so bad.
I guess, everything's unpacked. I'm going to the high school here now. It's better than my old one, but I'm having trouble finding new friends. Oh well :/ Besides that, I'm just waiting for anything interesting to happen. Everything's so monotonous and... stuff.

Zarylo In reply to sparklyAxolotl [2014-09-09 07:56:23 +0000 UTC]
I was putting all my bits on you responding to the sweets part and ignoring the coding part and not the other way around but that just prooves I don't know much about you yet .
If you want to learn any coding I'm sure I can help you get started. (I haven't studied that for 5 years for nothing after all ^^)
I've transfered schools twice so far; both instances back in elementary school though, not high school, but the situation is almost the same:
Everyone else knows everyone else except for you, everyone has their "best friend forever as far as this school is concerned" (in short bffafatsic!) except you.
The good news is the new school actually is filled with friends you just haven't gotten around to know yet.
I can understand the monotone thing. (Wake up - breakfast - go to school - nothing exciting happens - go back home - do homework - supper - go to bed)Β <-- this has felt like my everydaycycle at a few times in my past.
Getting friends is hard and I searched for ways to get friends too. Can you guess what I figured out?

I don't even know where to start with coding :0 it just seems super fun and useful
I have changed schools... practically every year before middle. .-. ugh. I went to the same high school for 2 years, now I'm at a new one, who knows where I'll be next year.
maybe you forced yourself to go out and make friends instead of waiting for them to come to you? maybe? seems to be what everyone else is telling me (no I'm not trying to be sassy here)

If you want to try general programming: Java, Eiffel or C# might be something for you.
If you are a math-afficinado you might like Haskell or Octave/Matlab.
If you want to hack someone's pc, or take over the world: step up and master the C programming language.
If you want to create a game: learn about C++
Programming is a bit intimidating in the start. But once you've gotten the hang of the first bit, it suddenly gets easy.
(it's like when a bird learns to fly, the first hop out of the nest is the hardest one.)
(Seriously, the hardest part is to install a compiler and learn how to use it. not even that hard, but probably confusing for a start.)
If you let me know what you want to do (Like, write a program that solves a Sudoku or something) I'll help you get started.
Are your parents traveling Circus performers or why are you changing schools that frequently?
I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head there. Yeah that is exactly was I was going at.
People tend to shy away if they notice you try to befriend them.
and If you already realized that then there isn't much I can advice.
(Is why I like ponies: friendship in a nutshell)
I remember when I was 20 I got frustrated because of some mayor drama that happened. (Short story, I pretty much lost all my friends I had at that time)
So I decided to focus on studying and not give a crap about what people think about me.
I stopped looking for people I knew to sit next to during lectures and sat somewhere where I was alone.
Wasn't for long before somehow some people made it a habit to sit next to me and talk.
Just when I decided to be completely independent and not care about anyone. Best timing ever.
(but I was like cool why not and we became friends anyway.)
So yeah. Don't worry about friends. It always sorts itself out. Same goes for relationships.
Learn to code that will keep you from being bored ^^

I really don't know what I want to learn to do, just something- anything in general.. Idk.
Noo no People always ask me if my parents are in the army, they're not. They're not in the circus either (though my 3 other siblings make it seem like it is). My dad is a scientist (of some sort, I haven't figured it out yet). I think the last project he was working on was looking for the cure for HIV, but then his grant ran out so we moved here to california. He interviewed for a startup company yesterday, I think. Seems unlikely to me that they'd turn him down since he has like, 6534 years of experience, but who really knows what'll happen. I always had to move around a lot because of my dad's job. These scientific companies shut down and/or lay people off all the time. We move where the jobs take us. It's exhausting physically and emotionally for obvious reasons.
And that's just the thing I told a friend who's in a similar situation. I've found that in life, all my best friends happened by a sort of random chance. The teacher sitting us together in assigned seating, one person needed a partner on a project, I poked a person I didn't really know on facebook once. Heck, that last person is my very closest and dearest friend now and I don't know where I'd be without him to be honest. And to think that if that one little thing I did, that one thing that seemed so insignificant at the time, had never happened, we'd have never gotten to know each other at all. That's horrifying to me, but I'm glad I didn't chicken out o_o
b-but I digress. I'm trying not to stress out about friend making too much for now because if someone's meant to be a part of my life, it'll end up that way.

Something anything in general: get java. Mainly for the reason it's one of the easiest ones to install. Seconly there 2153 millions of java users, so if you don't understand something you can google your question and google will find you ten people who had the exactly same problem and the solution to it as well.
You need the Java JDK (Java Development Kit) which you'll find here: www.oracle.com/technetwork/jav⦠.
A second thing that is super useful is a good text reader/writer programm like Notepad++ notepad-plus-plus.org/
(It's like the ordinary notepad on windows, just more useful (that is why it has two + signs!))
both things are for free ofcourse .
Now the wonderful thing about friends is that you can make friends anywhere, often where you least expect it. So no matter where your dad drags you about you will always end up somewhere where you can bump into a future friend against all astronomical odds.
Your parents also met by chance, (as did your grandparents) you got born as a result, that makes your life dependant of a lot of things that happened by chance in the past.
what would have happened if they hadn't met (I.e. you not being born) isn't important, it's also not important what would have happened if you had not seemingly uninsignificantly poked your now very best friend. It's only important that it did happen and everything that happened after that. (Live in the "now" and "here" and not in a fictional past that might have happened but did not ... okay I do this a lot myself too but keep it in mind anyway )
It sounds like your dad is a rocket scientist!

You are welcome ^^
(remember that buying a violin doesn't make you a musician, you still have to take lessons. In this case learn how coding works (bit easier than violin lessons though, and you downloaded the violin for free heh.) If you haven't chickened out of it by now send me a note and I'll prepare some tutorial. Sod that I'll prepare a tutorial and send it to you ;3)

Because of this jackass
I'm on DA minding my own business, doing nothing wrong but waiting for someone to talk to, when they pop up in my gallery's folder titled "best artwork." Which holds all of my (personal opinion) best deviations. And they literally say to me
"Man these drawing suck!"
WHY?! They didn't give any reason or meaning to it either. Hell I don't even know them except for all of 17 minutes ago.
Well I got new for you at least I got something to show for my artistic talent! You got nothing in your gallery. So unless you have constructive critical advice for how I can improve my art, or something to compare with my work against yours, you can go and F**K OFF.
π: 0 β©: 1
sparklyAxolotl In reply to Rexlare [2014-08-27 23:56:29 +0000 UTC]
Just ignore it, they're just looking to get a rise out of you/other people, most likely. I'm gonna be honest, if they really meant it, it's a valid opinion that they have, but one that I don't personally share. Given the possibility that they meant it, they either lacked the ability to express how they felt in a more explanatory and constructive way, or they wanted to be mean on purpose. Ask them if they could expand on their comment and how they think you could improve in their opinion.
Though, the way they presented their opinion showed insincerity. Whether or not they were trying to be sincere, no one knows. Based on how they respond to you asking how your work could be improved, a better judgement can be made as to what you should do next.
Everyone's opinions are valid as long as they are sincere. They may not be shared by everyone, or even anyone, but valid nonetheless. It's how the world goes 'round, everyone offering a different viewpoint in hopes of the advancement of humanity.
Don't be closed minded to different people's opinions because you never know how they'll help you or other people improve. But do judge what they say as some only aim to hurt others and slow progress with insincere comments.

Rexlare In reply to sparklyAxolotl [2014-08-28 00:01:45 +0000 UTC]
I felt they were being insincere too. After all, all they said was my art sucks. I was calm and responded with
"Excuse me?"
Because if they actually had something worth saying I want to hear it, but it really doesn't seem they are sincere with it. If they really are just trying to get me angry, I wont grace them with that. Because I know my art DOES NOT SUCK.
My art isn't the best out there, and quite easily pales in comparison to others such as you, but I know that it does not suck.

sparklyAxolotl In reply to Rexlare [2014-08-28 00:18:28 +0000 UTC]
Great! That's the best attitude to have. If they were being sincere, they'd want to offer advice and try to help you improve, so brush this aside because they're not worth your time!
