In this era, it's a phase a lot of artists experience. I had a anime phase when I was twelve up until...perhaps the start of high school. Then you realize that's it's a dead end and you cannot possibly create anything worthwhile if you limit the scope to variations of manga artists' styles. Didn't mean to mount my soap box there, but I felt it might encourage you to be bolder in your artistic pursuits.

It's true though I meant I do a lot of unoriginal digital work, I haven't really done a manga drawing since grade 11. I'm studying fine art so a lot of my work consists of printmaking and fine pencil drawings. I don't really post these online. But I really want to get a unique style going. There's this guy at my university who insists on doing manga art and one day going to Japan...and I would respect that expect for the fact that he's really bad at it. I guess what I'm saying is when you want to do what everyone else is doing you better be damn sure you're doing it better than them. But when you have your own unique style it just stands out and is appreciated so much more

Excellent! I haven't watched this particular version, except for the graveyard scene, and I loved it, and I believe Bryn Terfel is Masetto in this production, but that's all I know of it. From what I've seen, it's very good. Hope you like!

Well, you know how it is. More often than not, we see realistic or hyper-realistic works of art that seem to be more real than photographs ever could. Truth is, our reality is boring. By manipulating the way it's elements work, we (and by we I mean the good artists, which includes you, but not me) can create our (again, yours) own reality, where things are much prettier, and somehow more believable than truth.

Well, that's why realism is a dead-end, for the most part: eventually, you become a proverbial camera(which rarely makes for interesting art). You shouldn't right yourself off outright, mi amigo. I've seen your gallery and there is definitely something going on. You seem to have the same attitude towards your work as I do towards my own. Know this: if you ever become complacent with your art, you may never improve.
