Ooohhh, I see.
How would I go about writing that out?

Well, you should put something like:
div.stamps {
height: 100px;
overflow: auto;
}
And the html:
^_^

Drake1 In reply to Lacerro [2010-12-12 02:33:52 +0000 UTC]
mmm... That's weird, it should work D:
Maybe you put few stamps and the 100px limit wasn't crossed?

Lacerro In reply to Drake1 [2010-12-12 02:37:19 +0000 UTC]
That sort of format doesn't work with custom boxes? :0
Because I've already tried using the set-up one would use in a journal and it didn't work, lol.

Drake1 In reply to Lacerro [2010-12-12 02:44:54 +0000 UTC]
It's weird, because it works with the journal skin you already have xD
I'll try it...
*2 minutes later*
It works for me! XD Maybe you're putting something wrong...
Here's a stupid question: Are you putting the CSS code in the CSS section? XD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Lacerro In reply to Drake1 [2010-12-12 02:49:40 +0000 UTC]
I'm actually trying to use it in a custom box, not my journal, lol. I already know how to apply it in a journal skin. xD;

well if you look at my journal... it looks everything right, eh? Everything (the boxes and the banner) are move with padding 10%.. okay, problem is: I want put a picture in the footer, but it shouldn't move like the rest :< padding 0% would be correct, but if I changed it, everything is padding 0%... do you know, what I mean? D=

Drake1 In reply to Anira-chu [2010-12-03 11:43:33 +0000 UTC]
So you want your footer to have a background image that sticks on a side?
If you could give me an image of the outcome you want I could give you the code :3
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Anira-chu In reply to Drake1 [2010-12-04 13:01:58 +0000 UTC]
yes~
Ehm... atm it looks like this~ [link] but at the end it should look like that D= [link] (and like my journal it's right now)
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Drake1 In reply to Anira-chu [2010-12-04 17:01:15 +0000 UTC]
I see... You know what? I think you kinda messed it up putting so much background images. (no offense ^_^)
What if you put just one background that repeats vertically (the red pattern)?
Then you could add a semi-transparent background to the text area, that way it would be like the picture you gave me.
And finally, the christmas tree can be saved as a .png image without that background. So you could be able to put it on every place you want!
I don't know if I explained it well, sorry, my english sucks xD
I can help you with the images if you want

Thank you for adding my tutorial to your gallery .
I just wanted to drop by and say this group is an AMAZING resource. I wish I had known about it when I started coding on this site, it's just a repository of knowledge about the functionality of the site. Also, that's some classy coding on that main journal entry, very nicely done.
I'll definitely be a' perusing your galleries now.

A few ways to accomplish this.
One, if you want it as thumbs for people to use in their journal with no code work. I believe you'd have to cut it into segments as separate deviations so the thumb size is the correct display size. Then use the :thumb####: for each. This may be the easiest way so people can use the DA system to use your long button. However, this limits usage to only places where you can use thumbs, in journals, box widgets and deviations, and limited to premium members only.
Two, the same thing, only make plz accts instead of deviation parts. That way all people can use it and anywhere, like comments and forums and such.
Three, leave your deviation as it is, and hot link to the image source by using the
This can be used in premium journals and premium box widgets only. This is regular HTML and not supported in all of the site.
So, making thumbs might be the easiest, no plz accts to memorize and still a good number people can use it.

Yes, i understand what do you mean, but im trying to get a result like this button's code (in the comment section) [link]
That's the kind of code i need, i worked with the last HTML coding you told me and i got the same result again, you can check it if you wanna know what's the problem, i don't know why this happens, in i hate being annoying DX

gillianivyart In reply to Ranshiinsitha [2010-11-24 01:09:58 +0000 UTC]
That should work, I do not understand what the problem would be. Make sure you have no typos and the img url is correct. Other than that, the code should work.

The problem is that the URL appears as a link in the middle of the code, i don't know how i could solve it :/

gillianivyart In reply to Ranshiinsitha [2010-11-24 06:54:13 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm, you know, I don't know. How did you get it to show in the first place or the other one? You can make a footnote saying they'll need o copy & paste the url separately. Or try writing it with spaces and tell them to remove spaces: h t t p://www.yoursite.com/imageurl.jpg or adding a around parts to break up the code and tey can still copy & paste no problem. http://www.yoursite.com/imageurl.jpg See how the "http" is in italic but nothing else is? I don't think the code tag 👍: 0 ⏩: 1 works in DA.
Nicasus In reply to gillianivyart [2010-11-24 10:41:37 +0000 UTC]
Yup, that's what I always do.
Example:
www.google.com
What I did:
www></b>.google.c></b>om
Just using the > tag (for example) without actually putting something in there is enough

Ahhh, nice! I just do it around my first < which can tend to look pretty confusing when you're typing since you'll end up with 3 in a row >< in a whole nest of little less than greater than symbols! I have to preview everything I type....

How do you put a youtube video link on your journal?
It works with external thumbs from sites like photobucket and stuff but is there a way to do the same for youtube vids?
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
Helewidis In reply to WhiteCyanide [2010-12-02 00:34:20 +0000 UTC]
You can, however, put a screenshot of the youtube video, directing to the youtube video. When clicking people will be redirected to youtube, but at least it looks good (attention grabber) in the journal.

I need the code to make a journal footer, i wanna mean, to paste a img on my journal when im writting it but do not reduce the size of the image. I have to copy the thumbnail or it is another way to do it?

gillianivyart In reply to Ranshiinsitha [2010-11-06 10:11:58 +0000 UTC]
an img src code works, just regular HTML. You can put in header, footer or in your regular text so long as you have a subscription.
