買，賣，頭, see how different head is in Traditional from buy and sell. And to me, turtle looks like electricity wearing a hat. That's how I had to memorize it in school and even then, it wasn't that helpful as I still stop and think "ok, is that lightning or a turtle..."

I want to say for the record...稱呼, that pattern is VERY hard for me to use. That was one of the HARDEST grammar patterns to use, even at year 3, we were struggling with it. It and using 剛才 or 剛, those were so hard. I think only my one friend really understood when and how to use 剛才 without sounding like a moron. I could read it and interpret it right but if I had to write a sentence using it, just no lol.

You should say“我覺得張飛是蜀漢最好的將軍”
And then...
Second sentence"你意見東吳是什麼?"
You should say"你對東吳有什麽看法？"(What do you thnk of Dong wu?)
Third sentence"他馬上戰鬥劉表"
You should say"他馬上和劉表戰鬥"(He fight with Liu biao immediately)
Fourth sentence"劉表的將軍殺孫堅因為孫堅不用他的腦。"
You should say"劉表的將軍殺了孫堅,因為孫堅很愚蠢。(The general of Liubiao killed Sun jian,because Sun jian is Stupid)

Oh boy, I totally forgot the pattern of using 對 something something 看法, it really has been a while since I've used the more complex patterns. And yeah, I thought Sun Jian just rushed into that ambush. He didn't need to do that. Not to mention that was the most obvious ambush in the entire book.
And see, yeah, that's how we all interpreted 剛, to us it just mean "This just happened" or "has recently occurred."
And of course, we can be friends.

Yes, our book taught us using the English word, the pinyin pronunciation, then the Simplified, then Traditional characters. Early on during our quizzes, our teacher would say the vocab word, we'd write its character, its pinyin, then its English definition. Year 2, the ending question was always a sentence, our teacher would say a whole sentence or two in Chinese, we had to write ONLY the characters, then translate it. By the end of year 3, we had 4-5 sentences. It got silly because our teachers would say periods and commas and stuff, and we'd be like "wait, do you mean literally put a comma in the sentence?" They didn't explain that initially lol.
