Hello,
I would like to know if submissions approvals are stopped? Because I regularly submits pictures that are neither accepted nor declined .

thank you for your reply.

Approvals are not stopped, and are evaluated on a case by case basis. We are running into an issue with not enough active voting admins and are working on resolving this. You are welcome to re-submit when a deviation has expired though please do keep in mind we do still adhere to high standards of work and check that it matches up with examples and descriptions from the post.

This is at least 5 times that my submission has expired. I do not want to be unkind, I know that you need to analyze a lot of deviation and many of you are on vacation, but you could just decline the deviation if it does not suit you:

We are working on this. It requires the same amount of votes to decline as it does to approve. We have temporary measures in place while we work on more permanent solutions so deviations so start getting responses.

Hey all.. So I have DAZ now and trying to figure it out.. How can I take a photo of a person and turn them into a 3D model.. I have seen lots of people who seem to be able to make models look like real people. Anyone able to help me?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Whispyyr In reply to EoTe73 [2013-06-05 23:40:21 +0000 UTC]

Hey EoTe73;

While some members of this group may use DAZ and will be able to help you. The submissions you are seeing here are done in programs such as Maya, Cinema4D, zBrush, Mudbox or 3D Studio Max. You will likely find more help asking this question in another group.

What does WIP Mean? and what is "hard surface modeling"?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Magmabolt In reply to kubagami [2013-04-18 14:39:48 +0000 UTC]

WIP stands for Work in Progress. Hard surface modeling is what it wounds like, things that are hard surfaces such as cars and machinery.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kubagami In reply to Magmabolt [2013-04-18 15:12:20 +0000 UTC]

Ok, but objects have "hard surfaces" Batteries, guns shoes, earplugs, vehicles, furniture, ext...So why are objects a separate group?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Magmabolt In reply to kubagami [2013-04-19 00:12:16 +0000 UTC]

yes and all of those go into hard surface, except maybe furniture. They's separated because the way you model them is very different from the way you model things like plants or people.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kubagami In reply to Magmabolt [2013-04-20 00:16:10 +0000 UTC]

kubagami In reply to kubagami [2013-04-18 18:03:50 +0000 UTC]

There are cars and machinery in the objects group and character models in the Hard Surface group. I'm just saying, it's confusing.

Expired is not the same as rejected. Unfortunately during the holidays mods get very busy as well and submissions not getting enough votes is all too common. Feel free to re-submit

I would suggest you remove the watermark across the main part of the image. They typically get declined, since we cannot see the content anyways.

Hey guys, I'm just wondering, what is a good program to render your model in?

I've done the model in Autodesk Inventor, so what would be a good rendering program based on that? Also, how does one go about getting good textures? My current model is a British .303 cartridge and I need copper and brass textures, had a look around but haven't really found any good ones :\

Hello!

I've been asked by the 'MISSION BACKUP EARTH' director to post this official statement and invitation to the project. Everyone's welcome!

Thank you in advance for NOT marking it as a spam

Hey There!

we are working on a space science fiction series titled MISSION BACKUP EARTH. Here is the link of our Trailer:

[link]

Most of the work is done by volunteers here on the crowdsourcing platform Wreckamovie: [link]

Momentarily we are working on a 6 part mini app-series which will be distributed by App Media: [link] . The live action plates are all completed and our editor Hannu has already finished Appisode 1 and is now pressing on Appisode 2.

But we still need your help with animations, background-images, designs and so on…

If you want to help us please work on one of these uncompleted tasks:

Everybody contributing will be credited. Should we be lucky enough to turn a profit it will be shared in appropriately.

Thanks for your time and consideration

could you perhaps comment on the deviation submission process, so mods know exactly what you're talking about? Or at this point link your deviation so we can see?

Thanks,
E

Oh I think I can guess why this wasn't accepted. The main focus here is the guitar. If you resubmit to objects, it may be accepted. But as a courtesy, please bring up any questions relating to deviation submissions on the actual submission process thing in your inbox. This helps the mods know what's going on.

Thanks,
E

OK tnk u, just so many folders that its kinda tough to decide where u should put ur work, I thought it should be in the Scene section. Bout the first comment, i just wrote it on a quick hand cs i had to run out, just quickly wrote it and forgot even to link the image, but there would have been no problems if u have specified the reason of declining the work at the very beginning, but tnx 4 clarifying it now i understand the reason of declination .

Hi, can I have some feedback on why this was declined please, I believe there are more simplistic models in the galleries than this piece:

[link]

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MystiqueX In reply to Madog09 [2012-10-01 15:43:22 +0000 UTC]

My main reason is because it shouldn't go to the Scenes folder, I'd vote yes if you submitted to Characters.

Hello, I was wondering if it was at all possible to arrange to have a post about gathering a production team together and looking for 3D artists? It is completely voluntary but I leave it open for everyone who helps to get credit and be able to use it in their portfolio.

If not, that's perfectly fine. uvu

But if it is okay here is the journal with more information: [link]

Can someone please shine a light on why this piece was rejected? :thumb323851615:

I honestly don't know why.

If anyone could give me feedback, it would be much appreciated

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

muzikmastamaku In reply to Tadmod [2012-08-30 05:57:24 +0000 UTC]

because honestly speaking, decisions are based on the mod's preferences + decisions are randomly made, depending on mod's vote count.

I commented on this matter because from which i've read in earlier comments by some members, yeah, some mods are becoming biased(that's why most members are leaving), some featured ones here are just random car renders(studio), some are not that well but some are.

to all the new mods here, I don't mean to offend or argue with anyone. but please be fair in handling your decision, because it's becoming more of mod's preferences specially on the features folder and not the real 3dmodelling group that ma'am =Athey founded.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Da3DMan In reply to Tadmod [2012-08-29 23:23:44 +0000 UTC]

Its good, but it shouldn't be in the featured section, perhaps you should retry and put it in scenes?
