I could, but my commissions are currently closed right now. And unless you have a cougar cub pelt you'd want to commission me to do, I'd never be able to find or ever afford one... So sorry. Thank you for your interest however. I appreciate it.

Hullo there!
You gained a new watcher-- and worshipper-- after the submission of "Zero". Β You're really amazing, I didn't know soft mounting could look like that! It truly looked alive!
May I ask you, what would be your cost of soft mounting a housecat?Β
I'm not quite sure that's what I'll want for my baby, but when the time comes, I'm feeling a little opposed to burials and cremation.
He's healthy and quite a character right now, so it would (hopefully!) be a while, but just wanted to peek into what would be available.

Thank you so much for the kind comments and compliments.
However...
On the whole, It is illegal in the U.S. to taxidermy domestic pets.

hi just wondering if you do custom orders and would you ship internationally? >.<
π: 0 β©: 1
AtFirstPlush In reply to sumysum17 [2013-12-23 19:19:19 +0000 UTC]
Sorry, but my commissions are currently closed. Thank you so much for asking.
A little info: No, I am sorry, but I do not ship internationally because of the laws/restrictions put in place on our own exports, by and according to the United States of Americas federal government.Β They do not allow your every day American to ship furs outside of our own borders unless that U.S. seller has paid a great deal of usd/money (in the thousands of dollars) for the permits and/or licensees to do so. This includes all breads of foxes, and any CITES tagged species, and also includes ranched foxes. According to our federal government, ranched foxes are considered a sub species of the red fox, and albeit ranched/farmed, and in a variety of colors, it is still considered a wild animal and therefor is forbidden to be shipped, even if it is vintage. And although coyote, skunk and raccoon or of the like, are a 'safe' species, it is dangerous to believe or assume that such materials will not be stopped and/or confiscated upon reaching a checkpoint. They are still wild fur products. And our government still says "No." Not without the permits. The U.S. seller could suffer severe fines and jail time for even shipping such a simple and popular species with out the proper fur export permits.
This also means that the buyer will not only lose the money they paid, but what ever fur product they were buying from the U.S. seller. So, if someone will not ship a fur item to you, it is due to the laws, not because they don't want to. I do not believe that anyone who is on dA, and is selling any real fur products, shawls, coats, pelts, soft mounts, taxidermy, or part of any animal such as a claw, of any condition (other then domestic, such as sheep, goat and cattle) does not have the proper permits to ship furs or animal parts outside of the U.S..
So please, beeee careful. Should you stumble upon someone who claims to to able to ship such things, or even claims to have the proper permits, you have the right to ask for proof before you pay anyone. And it's a good idea. IF they can not produce the proof, please do not buy from them.
In short, it is better to be safe then sorry -for the seller. (and even the buyer) Even if it's ok for someone outside of the U.S. to buy and have the said fur item or animal part. I am so sorry. These laws have only been in place for about 2-3 years. And it has hurt a lot of people/seller.
It really is a pain.
Thank you again for the inquiry, and good luck.

Hello
I'm sorry if this is out of the blue. But I must explain first. I'm sorry if it's really long.
I'm new on DeviantArt, but I have been seeing taxidermy and these Soft-Mount things around here and there in people's faves or while btowsing and I wanna try making my own soft mounts now.Β
I've been looking at others' soft mounts and WIP's and tutorials and doing some research on how the taxidermy-part is done.
So I do know the basics on mountable pelts and what to look for.
And I kinda know the basics of mounting. Not a lot but enough.
I even managed to find someone who was willing to supply a bunch of mountable pelts they were getting rid of. I just need headforms and stuff.
I wanna ask you because I really like your work.Β Your soft mounts aren't studio perfect but they have a lot of personality and life of their own.Β My fave so far is Delsin .Β You also explain things well about all your mounts down to how you got them the way they are. Very knowledgeable
My question is what do you mean by "prepping the pelt"? I've seen you point it out a lot about your mounts and a few others point it out but I thought prepping and all was done before and during tanning?Β Shouldn't it already be done?Β Sounds important though.
I'm sorry again if this was long I just felt an introduction was needed and it's late so I probably made no sensr, sorry for that too...
And also happy birthday, or belated birthday

Thank you for the watch, and for getting back to me and you're welcome!
That is fine by me. I would love to see what yoy are talking about in pictures. I saw people prep raw during skinning bur never after tannung so I've been wondering...
I will be sure to have more...q's?...questions... soon lol.
Also, seller got back to me and pelts were shipped out this morning . When they arrive in a few days can I just send you links? Β I want to be sure they're fully mountable.
Sorry for typo
