Never watched it either.

again, I highly recommend it, its one of those animes that rewards you for being an otaku by jam packing itself with cleverly placed references that dont overshadow the overall enjoyment of the rest of the show

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2013-07-22 22:50:25 +0000 UTC]
you should watch it, it is REALLY good. Its basically an insight into human nature and morality from the other side of the tracks, how criminals see the world.

I am convinced that envy's death from FMA brotherhood is one the most satisfying things ever put to animation. How about you?
π: 0 β©: 1
Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2013-06-21 18:39:02 +0000 UTC]
Personally, I think it's one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2013-06-21 18:49:30 +0000 UTC]
yeah, AFTER envy was dead, personally, I was cheering the whole way through because envy was finally getting what was coming to him. First his body is destroyed, then his pride is destroyed, finally his belief system is destroyed, leading to envy committing suicide. Genius!

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2013-06-21 23:13:41 +0000 UTC]
Well, seeing Envy get his ass handed to him by Mustang is awesome but seeing him have a complete breakdown upon realising Edward is sympathising with him for envying humanity, and seeing him reveal his true colours as the poor, pathetic parasite that he is. It's great writing.

I probably won't review it, but I'll say to you now that it's enjoyable in its own right, Doug Jones is awesome as Pan, and the film isn't afraid to show the darker parts of the fantasy and war elements.

soooo, how long until theres a full metal alchemist musical? Dont act like its not gonna happen
π: 0 β©: 1
Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2013-05-28 00:15:17 +0000 UTC]
I'd prefer to see a group of films, because there's too much plot to fit into a FMA musical.

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2013-05-28 00:19:45 +0000 UTC]
I've actually been bouncing the idea around in my head for a musical prologue to FMA centering around scar during the ishvalan war, we already have one centering around mustang during that time, it made sense to me :/
π: 0 β©: 1
JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2013-05-28 11:59:51 +0000 UTC]
I also thought it would be cool to redesign scar as more of a mastermind criminal who is patient, calculating, and precise. The fights between him and edward would be more like battles of wits between two massive ingenious egos
π: 0 β©: 1
Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2013-05-28 14:34:56 +0000 UTC]
Then, that would completely change who he is as a character.

considering we're both acquaintances of I have to ask you this. Has his opinion on a movie you like or a T.V show you like ever ticked you off at all? I know its silly, but I find myself trying to keep my temper down when he calls out teh flaws about something I really enjoy. Not because of his opinions, but that, HE'S USUALLY RIGHT!
has that ever happened to you?
π: 0 β©: 1
Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2013-05-25 12:20:06 +0000 UTC]
Yes, I admit it has happened, but I am willing to respect his opinions because Jarredspekter respects everyone else's. Besides, he is a very imaginative, thoughtful and brainy, and a good friend.

do you think you can do an "everything wrong with" for FMA: conqueror of shamballa?
π: 0 β©: 1
Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2013-05-15 17:19:56 +0000 UTC]
Probably not. It's an alright film, and wraps up the first anime nicely. If you want me to write one on the basis that Ed and Winry didn't get together, etc., than no.

oh well, on another note, what actors would you get to play live action versions of the FMA cast?

between full metal alchemist and full metal alchemist brotherhood, which plotpoint do you think was handled better and why; scar killing winry's parents before the beginning of the series, or mustang?
