FreeBasic is easy to learn, especially if you happen to know QBasic or Visual Basic or something like that. On the other hand, if you are annoyed by the fact that it is somewhat syntactically-sugared, and not (to my knowledge) OOP, then I guess that's that. I don't know Java, and I'm too lazy to learn

FreeBasic is actually a powerful form of Basic, it has pretty much all the features of C (and they're working on OOP, too). I don't like any of the other forms of Basic though, especially Visual Basic which is gay.
Also, most C libraries (Win32, OpenGL, GLU, GTK, wxwidgets, FreeImage, PostgreSQL, libXML, to name just a few) have been ported so you can use them in FreeBasic just as you would in C.

C programs are notoriously long..Im sure its not as bad as assembly...but goshhhh....it doesnt not OO.

They're adding OOP, they have the basics but the more useful features like virtualization aren't implemented yet. Meh, I don't much care for OOP... I guess it's a matter of taste. I like C, but FB is more friendly, no need for every line to end with ";" and all that stuff. I actually can program in assembly, it's actually fun unless you try to write a really complicated program.

played games on the bus. and hiked. they made us hike!! it was sooo worth it tho. and we stayed up all night playing warlords and scumbags.

I love hiking, if only because it makes me feel like less of a wimp. Though I look like a wimp to most people, I also have more stamina than most people, so I can hike for miles. True, I'll be tired, but I'll keep going

I hiked. I barely made it to the top of the hill. and then the Chem teacher didnt make it down (she sprained her ankle) and Kate didnt make it up (she rolled her ankle), Renee wasnt feeling well, so she didnt even bother to try and the same with Kayla and I nearly sprained mine. According to the English teacher (who was behind me) I took my wieght of it just in time. It was all so worth it to see the view at the top though.
Hiking with my class usually ends up a bit of a disaster...
