Thanks very much

I started this star wars project, with the plan to do a shedload of drawings, when I was about 12; and most of them were done were done around then; since then i've only done a few per year - hence the way the drawing quality pon most of them isn't up to standard with my recent stuff.

I still haven't finished the project though, and paln on getting a few more done soon, once I've gotten a few other drawings out the way first...

Thanks very much !

I like drawing lots of things, but I guess cars are what I've done most - and am most used to.

Right now in the next week or two I'll be doing the rest of my second TVR-O-Thon , and then probably some more (unrelated) cars I've been meaning to do for a while before I go back to something else on my 'to draw' list.

Hi there!

Is there any chance you'd be willing to submit some of your car model sheets to for others to make in 3D? Would love to hear from you

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TwistedMethodDan In reply to Cymae [2010-10-04 20:19:53 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm tricky question...

One one hand; sure, it'd be cool to see somebody make a 3D model of them (I'm assuming you meant the two blueprint drawings I made?) - might even be fun to see if the models could be imported into a mod for a car game...

... but on the other hand I did decide to put the little copyright on there for a reason - the blueprints aren't just drawings but proper plans for a new compatible body to fit on an existing car - and it would suck if somebody else made money out of my work...

I thin, the best way to go about it is; if anybody wants to do anything with my design they should just contact me and we'll sort something out...

At ModelSheetCentral we take digital rights really seriously. The way we work is that deviants who submit to our galleries put a permissions message in the deviation description of whatever they're submitting. There you can say stuff like: "You may use this sheet as reference for non-commercial purposes only and must credit me for the original design" or similar. In the end, if someone wanted to steal your stuff, they could do it based on what you've got there at the moment, our group is all about getting appropriate permissions

TwistedMethodDan In reply to Cymae [2010-10-05 06:47:09 +0000 UTC]

Well I suppose like that it's slightly better...

What drawings of mine exactly did you want in the group ?
Just the blueprint ones, or the other concept car designs too - though they might not be so easy to copy from the angles provided...

Hay, is there asny change i could request another TVR drawing? ... would you be able to do one? or a Noble M12 in electric blue? *big hopefull eyes* only if you get time!

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

TwistedMethodDan In reply to vidas-Oktikus [2010-10-11 10:02:48 +0000 UTC]

OK I've gotten some stuff out the way; now I can work on my second TVR-o-thon.

I don't like drawing the same car twice, so these will be different - older, and more obscure - models. I'll even do the M12 at some point too. it's not my favourite car, but I like the rear view.

Just like the first one, I'll draw the cars in chronological order, from oldest to most recent.

Hey,
Sorry for the slow reply - I don't tend to check DA very often - especially during the holidays when I'm at home and make the most of whatever I can't do at uni. The rest of the year - at uni - I'm fairly bored and so lots of drawings, amongst other things, get done...

Sure, I can do more TVR drawings. Originally, I intended to do all the ones Peter Wheeler to present era, as they're quite simply the ones I love (though the tamora... well it's juts so good-looking as the others) - I very rarely do more than one drawing of the same car, but nothing's stopping me doing drawings of older models, or the White Elephant. Thinking of it, if I really want to do every version of it I haven't done the relatively tame looking initial road version of the Speed 12, before it got all the vents and spoilers (like this: [link] )

I'll probably get back into drawing in a week or two - and it'll probably be full-swing as well (sometimes I get into drawing frenzies and do nearly one every one or two days for a while) - though I can't tell when I'll do more TVRs.

The way it works with me is whenever I get an idea for something to draw or paint, I write it down, and stick it in a "to draw" folder on my computer. Sometimes, I make quick mock-up rough pictures on the computer to see what it'll look like, too. Then whenever I want to do a drawing, I open the 'to draw' folder and pick whatever I feel like doing at the time.
Usually when I do one car, I'll be doing a few cars until I'm sick of them and want to draw something else; though I think the first few I'll do will be of the slightly different, more comical variety...

P.S. I *always* have time. There's sod-all to do at university, unless you think going out to get drunk every night (at £3.50 a pint!) is a fun thing to do - and I personally don't think that spending a shedload of money on a hangover is 'fun'. So the time most students spend vomiting, I spend drawing.

Thanks

Though I'm supposed to be hard at work studying at university, I seem to get pretty well by doing just the minimum; so I'm often drawing cars or random silly ideas - so there'll be much more coming soon
I've got a whole 'to draw' list I'm going through at the moment; and next up is an Audi concept car I made up.

Holy hell, 123 Deviations and 1 watcher, what the hell is the world coming to? Personally I don't want to put you on my watch list because I am not really into drawings but scanning through your gallery I see that a lot of it should be more popular and yo should at least have more people commenting on your page. Where has everyone gone?

TwistedMethodDan In reply to LyndonArmitage [2008-10-11 15:12:42 +0000 UTC]

hahaha thanks a lot !

I think one reason could be that pretty much since the beginning I only had 1 drawing here (my personal favorite of all my works, the portrait of Wes Borland shown in the featured part of my page) and suddenly about 3 days ago I decided to upload my other 200 or so works ( yeah, there's loads more to come...)
A lot are drawings, yes but there's also a few paintings mostly 2007 onwards and some real crazy stuff in the 'other creations' folder in my gallery...

So I probably don't have many watchers cuz it's all only been on here for a couple of days...

Thanks again for the compliment

Dan

Hi,

haha thanks a lot !
Of course you can watch me, for now I'm uploading every so often all of my older stuff - the new stuff is coming on slowly and I'll be loading that once I've done enough drawing to make it worth doing it all at once.
You might want to check out Boba Fett and the Samus Aran painting in the 2007 folder in my gallery - they're probably amongst my best

TwistedMethodDan In reply to jetcomics [2008-10-07 18:49:21 +0000 UTC]

haha thanks !

I originally uploaded only one drawing, my favorite; then yesterday decided to upload another cuz it was one of my best ... then it started some chain reaction and since I'm quite bored i'm uploading quite a few more...
So far I've done most of my 2008 stuff and I'm working on the 2007 ...
I've got hundreds more coming , but not all tonight of course !
The others are older and less good though; I've evolved over the time (just some poeple might find it interesting to see what I was drawing when I was 10 lol)

haha! Totally awesome. Yeah I think it's interesting to think of the stuff I was drawing at that young age too. Lessee, when I was ten the only thing I can remember drawing was the "fat singing lady" from the jekyl and hyde video game for NES. I never could get past her and those dang "notes" that kept flying out of her mouth like she's a fountain.

TwistedMethodDan In reply to jetcomics [2008-10-07 19:22:49 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha that's actually something to be proud of ! most people give up dr.jekyll and mr.hyde on the NES after about 10 seconds of playing hahaha... you shoudl see the Angry Video Game Nerd's review of it !
