"Vintage" is probably more accurate. I think I use the word "noir" incorrectly sometimes.

Thanks! Sorry, I've been away so long. I had surgery and didn't feel like colorizing or getting online at all. Since my surgery was December 7th, I didn't get to have much fun on my birthday because I was still recovering. Oh well, I'm usually sick with a cold or flu or bronchitis on my birthday anyways. The joys of having a December birthday!
Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Oh yes; I know that one--- I tend to dislike my birthday...Mine is twelfth night-- or Jan 6th & everyone is broke or simply forgets about it after the hemorrhages of the holidays... Another year in the toilet & I automatically get older....Bummer!
My brother was the only one who ever remembered without fail & no matter where he or I would be, he would call me (& he was notoriously bad about calling people!) But I lost him a couple years ago to cancer & that seems to make the day even longer!
I always feel better the day after --- like; "That misery is over for another year---"
I can tell you on various occasions my own father (when he was living) & Mother have separately forgotten about it, & I now know why "Sixteen Candles" was a childhood favorite film! I'm Molly Ringwald but with no Jake Ryan! No happy eighties ending for me! XD

Hey! Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I was laid up with surgery and all and just kind of forgot about deviantart! I'm sorry to hear about your brother and father! My grandfather died 14 years ago on November 29. I now hate Thanksgiving. I think I would hate a "new years" birthday even more than December 18th!
I've never watched Sixteen Candles! My boyfriend is into old 80s movies, so I'm sure he has a VHS copy or something, or perhaps it's on Netflix. I will have to check with him. I have wanted to see it though.

Oh ha~! It's classic 80's... I know the dialogue line for line, just about... Worth a laugh...
Sorry to hear you have been laid up...nothing too serious I hope...
Yeah, my back has been out & it really really sucks the big one.... My Grandfather also died on Thanksgiving, although I was five, but my Mom feels the same about that Holiday..... Always something like this happens on the holidays it seems!
Yeah, I hope I didn't sound too whiney... The New Years' is another big let down, but I'm glad it's over ha ha~!!

I've seen The Breakfast Club, now I just need to see Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles. I'm not a big fan of the 80s, but it did have a few good movies It's not like I remember them, as I came along in 85, so I don't have the same experience as those people who absolutely adore the decade because they were there haha.
Well, it's a serious surgery but not a very serious thing. I had weight loss surgery on December 7th. I had a sleeve gastrectomy. The doctors removed about 80% of my stomach and left a little pouch. The only other major surgery I had before this was a tonsillectomy. That was nothing compared to this! You wake up and your insides are on fire. All you know is that you are moaning and you can hear the other people around you and you want to die! I still don't think I'd change it for the world though.
I have lost about 45 pounds since the day I started the 2 week liquid diet required for surgery. I say about because it seems like my weight fluctuates and I end up being somewhere between 45 and 50 pounds, depending on the day and the constipation. Sorry, I know, TMI, but it's one of the big side effects of this procedures!
Sorry to hear about your back! I hope you start feeling better soon and don't have to go through anything major with it!
Nah, you didn't sound too whiney I never look forward to new years, it always makes me sad. I'm not a resolutions maker either. I guess this is probably the first new year that actually looks good for me. I finally have a house (it's taking forever to unpack and get settled) and have had the surgery that I have wanted to have for the longest time.
I hope your year gets better for you though!

Ha ha~! I actually have a better memory of the 1990's, as I was coming of age & it seemed more fun for me! Sixteen Candles is much funnier than The Breakfast Club or Pretty in Pink, though! As a matter of fact, I think Family Guy & American Dad reference jokes form it ad nauseum.... It's also delightfully non-PC. As there is an exchange student called "Long-Duck-Dong" sent to stay with the Grandparents... I guess you wouldn't see this type of thing now, but...Tee-Hee!
That is a serious surgery! My niece & sister both had similar proceedures & seem to have had major complications, but I know they have different things going on, so I won't mention any of their problems... Let's just say it's a life-changer for sure! I think my sister-in-law also had consultation for months prior. I hope your feeling better now, constipation might give way to diarrhea if you eat the wrong thing!" Better out than in" I always say... Well, we might see some pics of the new you on here.... colorized of course!
How weird it is coming out the anesthetic & hearing things around you... Since my Dad had colon cancer, I have to have the colonoscopy every few years now & the last time I did, I came around to the sounds of the other patients farting & being encouraged to do so by a rather bored 19-year old nurse who seemed to be critiquing the whole thing... "good, good--" she'd say.... (The pressure can be unbearable so they want you to expel excess air) I was sort of laughing about it....
I must have hurt my back a couple years ago when I worked for a Walgreens; I had to do all the warehouse work as I was the only man working in this store, & it is a huge chain... I got stuck doing so much moving, lifting, unloading trucks... The rollers on the conveyor belt were broken & I had to move this thing each week to unload the truck & I think that was the thing that did it, I didn't mind hard work, but you know it was quite unfair & these things come & go, but this time; not going! That's what I get for trying to be the strong man! Tomorrow, the doctor & x rays... errr.. I hope I can make it on time... I can't even str8ten up at the moment & walking has been agony, so I have not been sitting up at the PC much either...
A friend has let me use his old android 'nook" & I have spent way too much time on Tumblr. Do you have a page? Your colorizations would be most at home there as I have found it a wealth of vintage tintypes & antique photos...of all kinds!

Well, that explains why some of the jokes in Family Guy and American Dad go over my head. I haven't seen the movies they're referencing. I love those two shows though. Seth McFarlane is a genius. I also love the fact that he's someone who is well known and has a love for vintage things. He's a great singer, in my opinion.
The surgery definitely is life changing. Yeah, you have to have months and months of consultations before getting this done. You have to see a therapist to make sure you're not going to off yourself for being too different afterwards. They also have to make sure you don't have any eating disorders. Then you have to meet with nutritionists and doctors and go on a special diet for two weeks. I feel it was all worth it though. Maybe now I won't die at 40 from something completely preventable. I a sorry to hear about your niece and sister's complications though. I was so afraid of those! I was certain I would die or my new stomach would leak and give me gangrene. But, my surgeon's pristine track record has held up!
HAHA! That would be terrible to wake up to coming from anesthesia! The weird thing for me is that every time I wake up from it the first thing I always see is a clock! I don't ever make note of the time, it's just that's the first thing I always see. It's like the world wants to tell me how long I was gone or something haha. For the surgery they did they had to fill my abdomen with air and I'm sure there was tons of gas being let off by everyone in the bariatric department haha. Thankfully I was out for all of that. Nurses are all weird! My mother was an LPN for years. They've got a strange sense of humor. They probably have to though, with all of the shit they deal with and death always being around the corner.
Sorry to hear about your back! That's crap though that you always had to do the "heavy lifting" warehouse work. I work in a warehouse. I do customer service now. But, I used to do the receiving. We would get huge boxes from UPS with 70 pound toilets in them. I would have to lift these from the ground to the dock with the help of the delivery guy, but still, it's not a ground level dock, the UPS trucks are made for ground level. I don't mind warehouse work. I would rather be on the logistics or receiving side though. I would like to go to school for logistics, or whatever it is you would major in for that, but I don't know what that is! Anyways, the point I was making here is this; our warehouse is mostly staffed by women. There are about 2 guys, 3 if you count the guy who owns the business. There's probably 10 of us in all, and women make up most of the staff and do all of the heavy lifting as well. Sorry that they were little prisses who made you do all of that!
I believe I said this in another comment to you. I do have a tumblr, or maybe I put it at the top of this, I dunno, it's very long now haha. I just haven't posted in forever. Tumblr sucks me in and I go to post a picture and a day later I still haven't done it because I've been busy looking at everything in the news feed of everything I follow. Thank you for those links though! I followed you and the ones that you suggested. This is far from the golden age of dick pics! I would much rather see one in black and white
Well, this is getting very long. I hope you have made it to your doctors appointment on time and feel better soon!

Sorry I didn't answer this until now; I have not been up to sitting up to the computer much because of my back spasms & such... I will find out more tomorrow, I guess...
Indeed, Seth Macfarlane sings very well--- I know he was a big fan of Sinatra --- He had Frank Sinatra Jr. on "Family Guy" & I guess it led to (of all things) Seth taking singing lessons from some the actual vocal coaches that ole' Blue Eyes used! So, yeah, I hear it in his voice, but he also really can sing those numbers & do so amazingly well... I think he put out a CD of Sinatra stuff, but would like to hear some other stuff....Never was too big on Sinatra myself... But gotta admit some of the show-typie tunes in "Family Guy" are funny & really good too!
I have noticed that most nurses I have met are all kind of crazy! The humor must help with the job!
So how are you dealing/doing, post-surgery?????
Oh yeah; there is wealth of 19th century pornographic photos & they show & do everything we know how to do & then some! There is a new one I added...The First Gay Reich.... It has so many old photos & snapshots of real Gays & Lesbian couples through the years... Now growing up, I never heard much about that sort of thing & it was kept on the quiet, so I am surprised & moved by the photos I have seen! WW2 was horrific but imagine finding the man of your dreams in such unlikely conditions... And the if caught, they were treated just like the P.O.W.s.....but fortunately there are some pretty interesting snaps to say the least... It's a hoot!

Wow, sorry to hear that your back is still acting up! I hope you get good news about it!
I have seen the Family Guy episode with Frank Jr, loved it. I love the Family Guy episodes that are spoofs of the "Road Pictures" as well. I'm not a big Sinatra fan either. His early 40's stuff is ok, but it's like he just got too sure of himself and stopped trying later on. I prefer Dean Martin better and some Bing Crosby
I am doing a bit better post surgery. I have been cleared for all activity. I am trying to decide between the 2 24 hour gyms we have in town and the YMCA, so I can start working out. I'm already down 70 pounds in just 2 months! I don't feel different or feel like I look different. The only thing I feel like is that I am walking faster now. Some foods still hurt and I am learning what I will be able to tolerate and not tolerate long term.
Love vintage porn and erotica! I probably said this in the original message, don't remember, but I love how people act like porn starts today invented sex haha. I need to check out your gallery, haven't in awhile
