guardian-of-moon.deviantart.co…
^ This is my dummy page to create a style for all of my gallery pages. I'm currently stuck on getting the titles of my thumbnails to be any color but the default teal color when you hover over the link.
I've changed the color with the .details .t {} code, but I can't seem to code the link version of it.

.details .t:hover {} ?
UPD: Oh, I see - some of the more specified attributes cover the common ones. Something like this should work:
.tt-fh .details a.t:hover, .tt-fh .details span.t:hover .tt-fh .details a.tt-fh-pr:hover, .tt-fh .tt-fh-oe:hover { color: writethecolorcodehere !important; }

Thank you VERY much. I'm sorry my code is messy, I was starting to cut away from things, hoping to fix the titles. Finding a up-to-date tutorial for deviantart CSS codes was getting tricky. I just kept finding pre-made themes.

For journals, how do I make a hovering box? so basically there is a box with the title and when you put your cursor over it, it turns into whatever content you put inside?

Hello! Does anyone know the CSS for journals, but I mean the default one. I only want to change the background colour, nothing else. But when I input CSS and leave only the
.journalbox {
background-color: #DAE4D9;
}
part, everything else messes up. I like how it is now, I just want to change the background. So if there's some css for what my journal is when not having any skin installed, I'll be very thankful.. Like I said, I just want to put the greenish background colour so that it matches the rest of the page, nothing else fancy or complicated

The "No Skin" skin is based on the gruze coding, therefore it messes up, cause journalbox was the old way of coding skins.
To get rid off all styling, insert this
* {background:none; border:none; padding:0; margin:0;}
.gr1, .gr2, .gr3, .tri, .gr-top img {display:none;}
This will give you a blank journal with the default dA background.
If you want to use your background color, also insert this code below the above code lines
.gr-box {background-color: #DAE4D9;}

Thank you for the response! But I think, by my unsufficient expressing, I seem to have made a misunderstanding. I want to keep the formatting. Um, here's what I mean. www.pixentral.com/show.php?pic…
On the left, it's with tampering with the CSS putting actually only the bacckground string. On the right is how it's by default. notice how everything is a bit more.. spacey somehow. That's what I was wondering if it can be achieved. Having it just as the right one but on the DA green background. So i'm guessing it will have to do with putting in cellpadding and everything. Hence I asked if anyone knows the values for that.
Anyhow, thank you and if I don't manage to figure it out, I'll just get over the "crunching" and at least have it in tone with the rest of the page It's really not a big deal since i use DA journals very seldomly but still, being a sore perfectionist, it started poking my eye a little so bright like that.
They should add some option to change the background colour of personal main pages though hahah.

The left is the old gruze "no skin" skin - the first part of the code I gave you removes all the borders, lines etc you see there, but leave the rest like text formatting untouched. The extra line changes the background color to your desired color, aka if you put all these in the css part, you get a green skin similiar to the one on the right side.
If you just put in a background color change line, it reverts back to the old basic gruze skin. If you want a green/blank skin instead of the default white one, you need to strip the skin bare first ( though actually you overwrite the existing dA CSS code with your own one, at least partially). That's exactly what the first two lines do; while the third one adds in your background color. Play with padding and margin to have more space on the sides.

Hello! Im wondering if anyone can help me. How do I make the background image at the top scale to size (so instead of just being in the center the sides of image will reach left and right sides of journal) when the window for the journal is bigger. It looks good on my page but when you click on the journal itself, the image doesnt reach both sides of the journal.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
poserfan In reply to Tefee [2014-08-11 10:22:34 +0000 UTC]
As your image is not seamless (due to the plushtoy and text on it) I wouldn't try to scale it as it will deform the text and toy. Right now your option would be to make the image itself bigger by adding the background to both sides (something around 1500px width). As long as the image is centered you have text and toy in the middle and the overflow gets hidden.
A seamless background image could be set to repeat-x; with text and toy as centered overlay image (with alpha channel).
Another option is to limit the journal width itself, so that even on the journal page the journal doesn't go big.

So for my page, I seem to be having issues with the custom skin not fixing in the box correctly Owo Any suggestions? Like, its over on one side of the box xDD Thanks!

poserfan In reply to ContinuingLegacy [2014-07-28 11:05:44 +0000 UTC]
You talking about the custom background for your widgets?? From my side here, it looks like it is too small as it shows the orginal dA color at both sides. So a wider background is the solution.

ContinuingLegacy In reply to poserfan [2014-07-28 16:47:06 +0000 UTC]
Yes I figured out that the scroll box is a lot bigger than I thought it was, so its covering up the custom skin. I'm going to see if there is a smaller scroll box latee :3 Thank you!

Hi there, I was wondering, how did they ->devpremium.deviantart.com/ make an awesome group profile like that ?
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
gillianivyart In reply to Zaigwast [2014-07-18 03:03:02 +0000 UTC]
Journals now have CSS3 transitions and transforms. So they get the awesome zoom effect on the hovers of the images. With Premium membership, you would be able to add these in your profile as well. If you want to know more, perhaps contact the founder of that group for the specific set up. I think it is several featured journals.

Thru the use of various journals. As supergroup you have more options than a basic group.

I guess over edit profile page, it should give you the options and then you just add the widgets you want - like with your own profile.

poserfan In reply to Zaigwast [2014-07-18 21:38:25 +0000 UTC]
These journals are probably just formatted for thumbnails with no or limited formatted text options. Plus it uses the latest implemented CSS3 technologies. They're probably made just for the group, but there are similiar ones out there.
You're welcome!

poserfan In reply to Zaigwast [2014-07-19 16:52:34 +0000 UTC]
*{background:none; border:none; padding:0; margin:0;}
.gr1, .gr2, .gr3, .tri, .gr-top img {display:none;}
these two lines at the beginning of any journal remove all formatting.

I was wondering how to make a gallery skin? Cuz I'm trying to make my own but I don't know what the size you need to make it not look like it's only on half the page. Cuz I have the code but everytime I do it, the picture I have is only showing up on half the page, not the whole thing. So I was wondering if there was a size I needed.....
Thank you for the help. ^_^

poserfan In reply to Darknessunderthemoon [2014-06-10 02:31:58 +0000 UTC]
The image size depends on your screen resolution and while it may look good on your screen, it may look ugly at someone's else screen due to a different resolution (aka too small or too big aka cut off). Best way is having a header and/or footer image only, as a big image (which is not a seamless tile) will get lost under the thumbnails nonetheless, and make for a very noisy look.
